Kawasaki city, Japan, specialized in the production of high quality
seamless tubes for oil and gas and industrial applications with an

specialist expertise associated with the production, manufacture
and development of drill pipe from NKK Corporation, which
has produced high performance drill pipe and tool joints to
outstanding quality standards since 1954.

Heat treatment for the weldzone
Drill pipes are manufacturedas part of an integratedprocess accomplished in fullyequipped state-of-the-artfacilities at TenarisNKKTubes.
Drill pipes and tool joints are assembled by frictionwelding. After removal ofweld bead, each heat affectedzone is quench and temperedin a unique system to recovermechanical properties.Welded areas are inspected byUT and MPI.

HIGH TORQUE RESISTANCENK DSTJTM has excellenttorsional strengthcompared to API tool joint. NK DSTJTM is suitable fordeep well drilling, extended reach well or horizontal well drilling. Variousapplications, smaller OD and larger ID are available.
Make-up TestDiagram on the right showstorque resistance testssupporting the performanceoffered by NK DSTJTM tooljoint. The results reflect ahigher performance of theNK DSTJTM NC50 over the API NC50. This figure shows
the make-up torque curve of both tool joints (6 5/8 x 2 3/4). Difference, as seen,is remarkable. In the case NK DSTJTM NC50 would beattached to API S135 5 x19.5 ft-lbs drill pipe, pipebody would yield before the tool joint does.

Hardfacing
TenarisNKKTubes can supply varieties of hardfacing usingaccumulated technology and experience and also provides commercially available hardfacing such as ARNCO series,ARMACOR, etc.
Tool joint break-in
Upon customers request, TenarisNKKTubes will conduct the break-in of tool joints to eliminate the rig handling timeand ensure that the process is carried out in a controlledenvironment.
Accessories
TenarisNKKTubes can supply drill pipe accessories such asdrill collars, heavy weight drill pipes, and others from qualifiedsub-suppliers.
SERIES 1000Fine particle hardfacing
SERIES 3000Coarse particle hardfacingwith standard density
SERIES 4000Coarse particle hardfacingwith high density
SERIES 6000 & 8000Hardfacing extends 3 3/4" over the wear area of thetool joint with fingerprotection on the taperedelevator shoulder. The superior wear resistanceand minimal casing wearproperties of SERIES 6000are due to its uniqueapplication method. SERIES8000s fine surface canminimize casing wear.
After completing therequired make and breakcycles, the tool joints shallbe separated and cleanedthoroughly.
Connections shall be visuallyinspected for threaddamages.

Proprietary Hardfacing
Apply an even coat of 50%zinc-base thread compoundon pin and box.
After making up hand tight,the assembled componentswill be made up at thespecified torque and thenbroken out.
