Deadlines and pressure are nothing when compared to the metal struggle a reporter frequently has

to face. In the 2012 Olympics, I was appointed as one of the reporters to make a full coverage of

the games, the interview with Mr. Lauxiang, was the biggest challenge I ever faced in my career.

Severely injured at the Achilles’ heel, he was forced, the stellar athlete was forced to put of the

Olympic 110m hurdles. As he sat on the ground crying in agony, part of me wanted to go forward

and comfort him, but part of me knew that it was the duty of a reporter to interview the injured

athlete and make it dramatic. Struggling between humanity and professionalism, I have no choice

but to conduct the cruelest interview as the superstar sobbed in tears.

What struck me the most was that a staff member viewed the locals with scorn, but treated mainland

customers in quite a different manner

with him. In order to resolve the conflict, I had no choice but to resort to the manager. But that is exactly
