The School District of Westfi eld is a pioneer in alternative energies. They use waste vegetable oil from local businesses and convert it into biofuel to be used in their school buses. They will have a biodiesel bus and for the second year will be providing all electricity for the event with their biodiesel generators.

Appleton ReStore’s 5th Anniversary November, 2010 we celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Appleton ReStore’s opening. Since 2005, through the tremendous efforts of the ReStore volunteers, donors and shoppers:• 3.2 million pounds of materials have been diverted from local landfi lls• 18,000 individuals have donated items to the ReStore• Over 1,000 businesses have donated materials to the ReStore• $100,000 income has been generated through the ReStore’s recycling program• Over $350,000 in product has been salvaged through deconstruction projects• $2.3 million in total sales
