    About This Document

This document describes two new features that have been added to the

EAS6800 High Quality Video Encoder Synchronizer and Analog Audio

Demultiplexer Installation and Operation Manual, Edition A, and VAM6800

    Analog Audio Output Level Offset

Firmware version 1.01 adds the ability to attenuate all analog audio outputs

simultaneously. This allows you to achieve additional analog audio output

levels beyond what can be achieved using the analog level jumpers (see "SettingJumpers for Audio Level" on page 14 of your EAS6800 manual or page 12 of

your VAM6800 manual). This output level adjustment is achieved by the

Output Level Offset parameter, which has a range of -5.0 to 0.0 dB in 1.0 dB

    steps.

Table 1 illustrates the card-edge control and range of the OP Level Offset

    parameter.

For example, to set an analog output level of 15 dBu for a digital input audio

level of 0 dBFS, use a combination of analog audio level jumper settings and

adjustment of the OP Level Offset parameter.

    1. Set jumpers to set the analog audio output level to 16 dBu (see section

"Setting Jumpers for Audio Level"). For this setting, refer to Figure 2-2 on

page 14 of yourEAS6800 Installation and Operation Manual or page 12

of your VAM6800 Installation and Operation Manual.

    Note

For information on usingcard-edge controls, please refer

    to Understanding Card-Edge

Controls on page 39 of your

    FR6802 Installation and

    Operation Manual.

    2. Adjust the OP Level Offset parameter to -1.0 dB. Use either a remote

control application (e.g. PilotLite, Pilot or Navigator) or card-edge control

to adjust the parameter to this setting.

The combination of these two settings will achieve an analog audio output level

of 15 dBu for a digital input audio level of 0 dBFS.

Q-SEE Compliant ThumbnailsFirmware version 1.01 adds Q-SEE compliant thumbnails to EAS6800 and

VAM6800 modules. To use Q-SEE compliant features, modules must be

installed in a FR6802 QXF frame that also contains a 6800 Eth module.

When you open a Control window in Pilot or Navigator for the 6800 Eth

module, all Q-SEE compliant modules provide thumbnails on a Video

Streaming tab. In addition, EAS6800 and VAM6800 module Control

windows have a new Streaming tab where a thumbnail, updated at up to three

frames per second, is displayed. For more information on Q-SEE compliant thumbnails, see your FR6802 QXF

    Frames Installation and Operation Manual.
