Why not do an engineering programme sponsored by industry and focused on taking that first step into your career Starting October 2017 Full time engineering programme Based at CATCH, Stallingborough 46-week programme Level 2 English and maths if not already achieved Level 3 City & Guilds 2365 Diploma in Electrical Installations (Electrical) NVQ 2 Performing Engineering Operations units – trade specific CCNSG Safety Passport Delivery and development of employability skills Work experience with a local employer Vacancies 12 Electrical ECITB statement The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) are working in partnership with North Lindsey College in offering an excellent opportunity for students who wish to pursue a career within the Engineering Construction Industry. The Introduction to Engineering Construction (ITEC) Programme is a one year course and will give the selected young people the relevant skills, knowledge and health and safety awareness required to prepare them for working in the engineering construction sector. Martin Eatough (ECITB Head of Apprenticeships) - “This is an excellent opportunity for those students who are currently studying for or in the process of applying for an Engineering qualification and are looking for an opportunity to secure an Apprenticeship or full time employment within the engineering sector. The programme will allow them to achieve all of the year one components of a formal Apprenticeship and, on completion of the programme, make them very attractive to potential employers” Progression Supported progression route into employment or level 3 apprenticeship Entry Criteria GCSE English and maths grade C/4 or above Application Process Request, complete and submit a College application form from [email protected] Functional Skills initial assessment Interview, site visit and skills assessment at British Steel in September Added Value: In addition to the core requirements of the standard our provision also includes as added value: Safety workshops - monthly safety workshops on industrial topics, including Work at Height, Mobile plant, Slips, Trips and Falls, Man Machine Interface, Guarding and interlocks, Isolation and Immobilisation Introduction to engineering skills - 4-week initial training across including mechanical basics so there is an element of multi-skilling Use of industrially relevant documentation to prepare them for the workplace including Safe Working procedures, Risk Assessments, Standard Operating Procedures, Permits to Work, Point of Work Risk Assessments A real working environment – The CATCH apprentice training centre is a simulated operational site so apprentices have to comply to operational requirements from their first day.
