數碼城市是指透過攝影測量、3D GIS、移動式測繪平台、影像處理等技術，整合各式空間資訊在網際網路虛擬空間建立仿真的三維城市模型，進而應用在民生、教育、防救災、都市計畫、不動產、觀光、數位典藏等方面。(成大饒見有數碼城市實驗室網頁)

完整的數碼城市是在電腦環境中複製一個真實的城市，其內涵不僅是重現真實世界城市中地形、房屋、道路、植栽等等各項物件的位置、幾何輪廓與外觀，更應包括城市的活動與機能。(蔡富安、陳良健，2010)
