Let Christ Be Magnified In Us

    Philippians

expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with

all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

  • On 31 October 1517,

    Martin Luther posted

    95 theses on the door

    of the castle church in

    Wittenberg.

    And thus began the

    Reformation.

    1. 唯獨聖經 "Sola Scriptura"- By Scripture Alone Our Only Foundation2. 唯獨恩典 "Sola Gratia"- By Grace Alone Our Only Method3. 唯獨信心 "Sola Fide"- By Faith Alone Our Only Means4. 唯獨基督 "Solo Christo"- By Christ Alone Our Only Mediator5. 唯獨神得榮耀 "Soli Deo Gloria"- Glory To God Alone

    Our Only Ambition

The priesthood of all believers

The notion of the “priesthood of all believers” has been by far

the most neglected. Martin Luther thought that “this word priest

should become as common as the word Christian” because all

Christians are priests. Yet for whatever reason, the priesthood of

all believers has been much less understood, taught, and

    expounded upon in writing.

  • Sacerdotalism

literally one who presents sacred offerings

sacer, "the sacred“ + dare, "to give“ = offerer of sacrifices

Latin term sacerdotium refers to the earthly hierarchy (of priests,

bishops, etc.) whose primary goal is the salvation of the soul.

  • Exodus

1 In the third month after the sons of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on

that very day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. … 4 ‘You yourselves have

seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and

brought you to Myself. 5 Now then, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep

My covenant, then you shall be My own possession among all the

peoples, for all the earth is Mine; 6 and you shall be to Me a

kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that

you shall speak to the sons of Israel.”

4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is

choice and precious in the sight of God, 5 you also, as living stones, are being

built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a

people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the

excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His

    marvelous light

Psalm 50:23 He who sacrifices thank offerings honors me, and he

prepares the way so that I may show him the salvation of God."

Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to

God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name.

7 And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the

throne. 8 When He had taken the [h]book, the four living creatures and the

twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and

golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they *sang

a new song, saying, 8 “Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for

You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe

and tongue and people and nation. 10 “You have made them to be a

kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the

    earth.”

“You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles

lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over

them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great

among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first

must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be

served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

  • Colossians

Brother, sister let me serve you.

Let me be as Christ to you.

Pray that I might have the grace

To let you be my servant, too.

We are pilgrims on a journey.

We are brothers on the road.

We are here to help each other

Walk the mile and bear the load.

I will hold the Christ-light for you

In the night time of your fear.

    I will hold my hand out to you;

Speak the peace you long to hear.

  • I will weep when you are weeping.

When you laugh, I’ll laugh with you.

I will share your joy and sorrow

Till we’ve seen this journey through.

When we sing to God in heaven,

    We shall find such harmony

Born of all we’ve known together

    Of Christ’s love and agony.
