    COURSEOBJECTIVES To provide the students with a thorough understanding ofthe principles of, and techniques used in engineeringeconomical studies, equivalence and compound interestformula, feasibility studies, and the comparison and decisionmaking between alternatives.

    COURSEDESCRIPTION

    This course will cover the concepts and techniques ofengineering economy. More specifically, the course consistsof three main parts:Part I: introduction to Engineering Economy.Part II: Interest formulas and equivalencePart III: Economic analysis of alternatives.

    PREREQUISITES -TEXTBOOK Gerald J. Thuesen and W. J. Fabrycky, Engineering

    Economy, 9th Edition, Prentice Hall, 2001

    REFERENCES - Sullivan, Wicks, and Luxhoj, Engineering Economy, 12th

    Edition.- Park, Fundamentals of Engineering Economics, 2004

    GRADING The breakdown of the final grade of the class is:

    1st Exam 25%

    2nd Exam 25%

    Final 50%

    Total: 100%ATTENDANCE Prompt, regular attendance is necessary for the lecture, and

    the exams. There is no makeup for the First and Secondexams, missing them will give you zero grade. Regarding theFinal exam, according to the college rules its not allowed forthe student to miss the final exam; the makeup will be givenfrom a specialized committee on the college level and notfrom the class instructor for a special extreme, justified, andwell-documented circumstances!!!
