    Happy New Year!

Our planet is back where it was 365 daysago in its long orbit around the sun.

A New Year now awaits. What are yourresolutions for 2014?

Some think resolutions are not forChristians because they rely on will-powerto defeat a bad habit, exercise daily, or losefive pounds by March.

Come February, most resolutions havefailed or been forgotten and those fitnessclubs memberships go unused for the restof the year.

For many resolution makers, the spirit is

willing, but the flesh is weak.

Still, I believe that believers should make

New Years resolutions. After all, we aretold in Scripture that we can do all thingsthrough Christ (Philippians 4:13). EEfounder Dr. D. James Kennedy once saidChristians are really the only ones thatshould make resolutions.

Resolutions for believers, Dr. Kennedysaid, are not just arbitrary commitments

to do what we want or think we ought.Instead, a resolution for the Christian is a

determination to do what God has told himto do.

I dont know what God may have especiallyplaced on your heart to do this year, but Ido know whats revealed in His Word.

The first great commandment, Jesus said,is to love the Lord your God with all yourheart, with all your soul, and with all your

mind. The second is similar, to love yourneighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-39).

May I urge you to put those twocommandments at the very top of yourresolution list for the coming year?

One way to love God is to spend time dailycommuning with Him in prayer and readingHis Word. Thats Christianity 101, but its soeasy to let the busyness of life crowd out

time with God. Dont let that happen. And, second, love your neighbor asyourself. The best way to do that is to share

the Gospel with others who need to knowwhere theyll go when they die. The chiefconcern of Jesus Christ while on earth, Dr.Kennedy said, was to seek and save thelost:

Everywhere He wentwhether it was awoman standing near a well, whether it

was a little man up a tree, whether it was ascholar coming secretly to Him by nighteverywhere, all of the timeJesus had

a passion to bring people to know their

Creator, to know their Redeemer, to knowChrist. That was His consuming passion.

Resolve this year to make that yourconsuming passion as well. And to help,we have a wonderful tool that puts theGospel at your fingertips and allows youto record your witnessing as a way of life

EE Philippines was privileged to attend the Congress ofNations (CoN) last October at Cape Town, South Africa.

Dr. Rene Atienza, Congress Chairman, Rev. Bernard

Henson, and Rev. Greg Roasa, Board of Trusteesrepresentative, represented EE Philippines to the saidevent.

The CoN is a gathering of EE Multiplying nations, held every three years. The Congress sets the over-alldirection of the EE ministry.

From 30 multiplying nations in 2010 during the firstcongress in Malaysia, the number has more than doubledthis 2013 to 63. In 2016 it is expected to double againinto 120 nations. The next Congress will be in Malang,Indonesia.

Important decisions were carried out related to the

direction of the ministry. In the next three years, we shallsee how the Lord will bring those dreams into reality.

One of the major items for EE Philippines that wasdiscussed in the CoN is the endorsement for the use andadoption of the eNET. This material was developed andis used by our team partner: SALAM ministries.

The newly developed counterpart material calledCome and See also saw three of our people involvedin its creation: Kevin Sheehan, Marie Caluza and RnellArsenal. This material will be field tested in 16 countries, including the the Philippines, beginning March 2014.

The introduction of this new material is in addition tothe Weavers material that was launched last November4- 8 in Cebu City. The launch of these new materials is

a manifestation of EEs resolve to make every effort toreach the different people groups with the gospel.
