Pilot Ladder Yellow Magnet

Features

Pilot Ladder Magnets, also known as Ship, Hull Magnets or Boom Magnets and Pilot Ladder Anchoring Magnets, protect lives and help minimise spill damage at sea. Every day, sea pilots board large vessels to assist in bringing them to safe harbour. Their job involves a sometimes precarious transition from a pilot boat to the ship, via a pilot ladder.These men and women are experts at this transition but nonetheless, safety is paramount.

Pilot Ladder Magnet has been specially developed to make life safer for sea pilots by providing removable anchor points for the ladders on the ship's side.These Pilot Ladder Magnets are designed to withstand aggresive marine environments and have no internal moving parts or entry points for sea water - a natural enemy of neodymium magnet material. Powder-coating in safety yellow for high visibility, and resin encapsulation of magnetic elements makes the product seaworthy.

In addition they are lightweight at around 3 kgs, yet immensely strong, providing more than 400 kgs of clamping force even through many layers of paint and salt scale and grime on a ship's hull. Hull magnets are also used to anchor floating spill booms and maintenance vessels and are also known as Boom Magnets.

How to attach and remove？

When putting the magnet in place,always have the discharge handle at right angles to the magnet. In this way,the magnet can be positioned and then handle lowered to allow controlled full magnet face contact with the steel surface.

To remove the magnet,raise the discharge handle to the right angle position,and lift the magnet clear of the steel surface.

Important - During transportationWhen transporting the magnet from place to place, care must be taken to keep magnet face away from steel surfaces,piping etc.

Do not place magnet in close proximity to computers,credit cards,magnetic navigation equipments,or anything which may have a magnetic strip,or it would be wiped.If you have a heart pacemaker or similar medical device,do not place the magnet in close proximity to your chest. Never ‘test’ the magnet strength with hand tools,the magnet will move faster than your fingers!

MaintenanceVisually inspect magnet working faces,and remove any loose ferrous material which may have collected on the face during usage.

Cleaning can be carried out,by simply wiping a steel wire brush across the face of the magnet.The wire points become highly induced,and the swarf will be attracted to the brush.Make sure discharge handle is moving freely, oil pivot points as required. Store magnet safely in a timber box of a designated place on a steel plate to minimize danger and collection of ferrous particles,if a set of two is supplied in a wooden box.always return them to the box in the original orientation.

ANTICORROSIVE TAPES

Anticorrosive tape is a type of cold applied tape which remains plastic over a wide temperature range. The tape is non-hardening and non-cracking, highly resistant to mineral acids,alkalis,salts and micro-organisms and highly impermeable to water, water vapour and gases. Temperature Range：-5°C to 45°C,maximum 55°C. Used for the protection of buried or exposed pipes, rods, cables,valves and metal fittings from corrosion.

Uses & Application

Atmospheric Uses: piping,structural steel, flanges & valves,sweating lines, tank bases, pipe crossing, cooling tower piping,and under thermal insulation.

Marine Uses: steel piles,timber piles, flanges & valves,submarine pipeline repairs,pipe hangers, concrete piles,risers, under deck piping,offshore platforms, H-piles, tie rods & end connections.

Buried Uses: flanges & valves,pipe, weld joints, pipe couplings,pipe penetrations, cadwelds,bolted fittings, ductile/cast iron pipe.

Commercial and Residential Uses: plumbing connections,cooling tower piping, cable splices, roof repairs, waterproofing & sealing, threaded connections, battery terminals, trays &tie downs, trailer axles & U-bolts.

Features

ANTI-CORROSION SYSTEM APPLICATION

Prepare the surface by removing all loose scale, rust or any other foreign matter in accordance with SSPC SP2“Hand Tool Cleaning” or SP3 “Power Tool Cleaning”. High Pressure water wash of 3,000-7,000 PSI is also suitable.

Surface Preparation

Apply FIXPOWER® Anticorrosive PasteApply a thin layer of Anticorrosive Paste onto the pipe and/or flange surface area where the Anticorrosive Profiling Mastic and Tape will be applied. This may be applied by gloved hand, rag or brush.

Apply FIXPOWER® Anticorrosive MasticHand apply and mold the Anticorrosive Mastic to a rounded configuration to fill any irregular shapes and reduce sharp surfaces on and around the flange.

Apply FIXPOWER® Anticorrosive TapeHand apply the Anticorrosive Tape on the prepared steel surface. Apply tape with a 55% overlap and use slighttension to ensure tape is tight to the surface. When applying tape, smooth out all overlaps to ensure a completeseal.

Apply FIXPOWER® PVC Protection TapeThe PVC protective tape wrapped around the petrolatum band,need 55% overlap, tighten the tape winding and smooth the bubble protruding to ensure sealing.

Apply FIXPOWER® Armor TapeAccording to the construction environment, if the workpiece is to be protected from external force damaged, can choose to install protective tape, water-soaked armor belt with armor with softening, wring dry water, according to 55% overlap winding,5 minutes dry, forming protective armor.
