Eldopark

Ons kyk met groot dankbaarheid terug na 2014. Geen inbrake is ervaar nie, esteties het ons dorp ‘n goeie standaard gehandhaaf en die instandhouding van die parke en geboue was op ‘n hoë peil. Daarbenewens is die finansiële posisie van die HEV kerngesond.

Ons vertrou dat ons aan die einde van 2015 weer sal kan spog met wat hierdie jaar vermag is.

‘n Beroep word op elkeen gedoen om ten volle saam te werk om die bestuur van Eldopark so glad moontlik te laat verloop. Sonder die samewerking van inwoners sal die taak onmoontlik wees en die bestuur se pogings vrugteloos.

Lede word daarom in hierdie vroeë stadium herinner aan die Algemene Jaarvergadering wat vir Donderdag 25 Junie 2015 beoog word. Die wens word uitgespreek dat die vergadering hierdie jaar ‘n weerspieëling sal wees van lede se belangstelling in die werksaamhede van die HEV.

The Board would like to wish all residents a prosperous new year. We trust that once again this year we will all find our town a safe and pleasant place to live in.

Looking back at 2014 we have reason to be thankful. We had no burglaries, aesthetically we upheld an outstanding standard and the maintenance of the parks and buildings was on a high level. In addition the financial position of the HOA is sound.

We trust that at the end of 2015 we will once again be proud of what we have achieved during the year.

An appeal is made to everyone to co-operate fully to ensure that the management of Eldopark is run as smoothly as possible. Without the co-operation of the residents the task would be impossible and the efforts of management fruitless.

Members are reminded at this early stage of the Annual General Meeting which is envisaged for Thursday 25 June 2015 It is the Board’s wish that this year the meeting will be indicative of members’ concerned interest in the activities of the HOA.

Consider your visitors and security staff, pleaseThe rule that the gate should be informed of all visitors before arrival has proved to be successful and effective. However, for the last month or two it would appear as if more and more residents tend to forget about the rule. Residents should please bear in mind that it is time consuming for the security staff and costly for the Home Owners Association to phone residents every time a visitor arrives at the gate. It often results in the piling up of vehicles which causes frustration not only to visitors but also to security staff. The only way to solve the problem is that residents themselves should notify the gate before the arrival of visitors, either in writing or telephonically. It does happen from time to time that a resident is phoned despite the fact that the visitor’s name was reported to the gate. Although this could normally be attributed to mistakes made by the security staff, it could also be as a result of the name given, or the pronunciation of the name by the driver or passenger, differs from that given by the resident.

So please make sure when the gate is informed of visitors’ names, that any possible misunderstanding would be limited to the minimum.

365 Sekuriteit / Security

Eldopark se Direksie is tevrede met die dienslewering van 365. Hulle sekuriteitbeamptes is almal S.A. burgers en kry voordurend indiensopleiding. Elke drie maande word ’n Personeel Bevoegdheidsevaluasie op die beamptes gedoen. Inwoners se klagtes word deeglik ondersoek en regstellings gemaak. ’n Dienslewering ooreenkoms vergadering word maandeliks met die bestuur van 365 gehou en word hulle geëvalueer en gepenaliseer indien nodig. Terugvoer oor probleme vanaf 365 se bestuur geskied gewoonlik op dieselfde dag waarop dit onder hul aandag gebring is. Inwoners moet nie skroom om probleme by die hek onder die aandag van die HEV te bring nie.

The Directors of Eldopark are satisfied with the service delivery of 365. Their security officers are all S.A. citizens and receive regular on-the-job training. Every three months a Staff Competency Evaluation is done on the officers. Complaints from residents are thoroughly investigated and promptly dealt with. A Service Level Agreement meeting is held every month with the management of 365 and they are evaluated and penalized if necessary. Feedback from 365 management usually occurres on the same day it is brought under their attention. Residents must not hesitate to bring problems they encounter at the gate under the attention of the HOA.

Toegangsbeheer/ Access controlDie staal hekke gaan elke aand om 19:00 toe en maak soggens om 05:00 weer oop. Die elektroniese toegangsbeheer stelsel doen dit outomaties en sekuriteitbeamptes het geen beheer daaroor nie. As u dus laataand ’n hek oop vind, beteken dit dat iemand binne die vorige drie minute deur die hek beweeg het. Die tydsvertraging tussen die hekke se oop- en toemaak is drie minute.

The steel gates close at 19:00 in the evening and open at 05:00 every morning. The electronic access control system does this automatically and security officers have no control thereof. If you find a gate open late at night, it means that somebody went through the gate within the previous three minutes. Time delay between the gate opening and closing cycle is three minutes.

Elektriese Heining / Electric fenceElektriese heinings word gereeld getoets en plantegroei verwyder. Die heinings is in ’n goeie werkende toestand. Daar word ’n beroep op inwoners gedoen om te rapporteer as hulle sien dat plante deur die heining begin groei. Dit sal ook waardeer word as u Tuinier behulpsaam kan wees met snoei van die plante. In so ’n geval kan die kantoor geskakel word sodat die heining afgeskakel kan word.

Electric fences are tested regularly and vegetation removed. The fences are in good working condition. Residents are requested to report excessive vegetation growth through the fence. It will be appreciated if your Gardener can assist in the pruning of the plants. In such case the office must be contacted to switch off the fence.

Gifts & ParcelsPlease provide a pass-out letter for all gifts and items. Without this letter the pedestrian will not be permitted to remove any items from Eldopark. Your co-operation in this regard will be appreciated.

Dit is 'n baie gewilde keuse vir 'n klein tuin aangesien dit nie maklik hoër as so 7 meter sal word nie. Dit kom in die Oostelike deel van ons land voor tot so ver Suid as die Wes-Kaap. Hierdie boom is ongelukkig nie rypbestand soos sy boetie die Vaderlandswilg nie.

Framboos-hart-koekies BESTANDDELE

½ koppie framboos konfyt ½ koppie versiersuiker en ekstra om bo-oor te strooi 1 koppie strooisuiker 2 koppies meel ¼ teelepel bakpoeier ¼ teelepel sout ½ teelepel vanielje geursel 12 teelepels ongesoute botter 1 groot eier 1 eier wit

METODE

1. Voorverhit die oond tot 180°C en plaas gesmeerde wakspapier in ’n bakpan.2. Kombineer die bakpoeier, meel en sout en meng goed.3. Meng die botter en strooisuiker totdat dit lig en donsig is.4. Voeg die meelmengsel by die bottermengsel en meng goed.5. Voeg een eier en die vanielje geursel by die mengsel.6. Bedek die deeg met kleefplastiek en plaas dit vir 15 minute in die yskas.7. Strooi meel op jou werksoppervlak en rol die deeg uit.8. Sny vormpies uit die deeg met ’n koekiedrukker en sny dan hartjievormige patrone uit ’n

derde van die koekie.9. Plaas die hartjievormige koekies bo-op die ronde koekies en vul dit met framboos konfyt.10. Plaas al die koekies op ’n bakplaat, bak vir 8 tot 10 minute en laat dit afkoel.11. Meng die versiersuiker met die eierwit totdat dit ’n dik mengsel vorm. Gebruik die mengsel

om die koekies aan mekaar te plak en strooi versiersuiker daaroor.

from back and neck problems. Most often, people go to chiropractors the first time for relief from back pain. Chiropractors treat a broad range of complaints, from back and neck pain to migraines, arthritis and colic in babies. Regular alignment of the spine and manipulation will not only alleviate but prevent painful experiences that can result in living a low quality of life. Chiropractors treat acute and painful conditions but focus on on-going preventive and wellness care by conducting tests for proper alignment and advises on correct posture, exercises and diet. Modern man with modern equipment such as laptops, tablets and desktops are more prone to back and neck conditions that will, if left untreated become part of the statistics on annual back and neck operations performed.

Dr A.G. Burger, a local chiropractor recommends regular alignments treatments and specific exercises that he developed for a wide range of spine related conditions. People of all ages from babies with ear infections and colic to senior/elderly people suffering from arthritis, osteoporosis and stress related structural problems should visit a chiropractor once every 60 days to ensure a healthy, aligned and flexible spine and neck. Dr Burger advises that the correct diet and his exercises will have a positive effect on how the body feels and looks structurally. With regular alignment treatments “trouble spots" in the neck/spine, can be identified and treated to prevent invasive treatment methods. Dr Burger did a Masters research on dry needling and laser techniques for the treatment of painful neck and shoulder spasms/trigger points. Acupuncture and dry needling were proven successful in treating muscle spasms and painful areas prior to adjustment.

It is important that the Joints in arms and legs should also be checked and adjusted, as many regular patients loves the adjustments and immediately feels a sense of release and movement. Athletes, body builders, road runners and cyclists should prioritize their alignment for optimal performance and to prevent injuries/spasms and a lack of suppleness that could mean the end of their active careers.

Senza -Eta:Dealing with acne

Acne is a common skin condition in teenagers but is often seen as an adult onset acne in later life. Acne is most commonly found on the face, back and chest. There are a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration when treating acne. Here is an easy to understand explanation of how to manage acne.

Factors that play a role in causing acne include oily skin, blocked pores, bacterial infection in blocked pore and hormonal imbalances. It is important to know about all these factors to understand that a multidisciplinary approach often works best.

Oral retinoids are very common treatment options but these drugs often have undesirable side effects including dry, red skin, mood changes and hair loss. Sun must be avoided as it may cause pigmentation problems and liver functions must be monitored if used over an extended period of time. Pregnancy is a contraindication as it may cause severe birth defects.

Conservative management includes daily low dose antibiotics, topical retinoids, the contraceptive pill in female patients and skin peels and a really good skin care product specifically designed for acne skin. These treatments are not inferior to more aggressive treatments.Successful treatment of acne involves reducing excessive oil, declogging of pores, managing the bacterial infection in the pores and prevention of acne scarring. Hormonal imbalances of high androgenic hormones can be controlled in female patients with the contraceptive pill.

All patients should be evaluated and given treatment options depending on severity and individual needs. Speak to your doctor about different options. We can treat active acne as well as established acne scarring.
