The goal of the course is to let the students understand the basic concepts of computer science.

Topics Covered

The course covers the fundamental issues of computer science algorithms hardware design computer organization system software language models theory of computation social and ethical issues of computing

Note that the course involves some introductory programming in C++.

Policies Late Policy: All assignments should be submitted by the

midnight of its due date 5% of points will be deducted for each day that an assignment is late. Once the solutions to an assignment are announced, any late

submission will not be accepted. Attendance Policy: Students are obligated to present in the

class. If you cannot present in the class, please ask for leave in advance. Students with unexcused absence for more than three times will not

have the opportunity to resit. Honesty Policy: Students are encouraged to study together

and discuss homework problems. Blatant copying will NOT be tolerated. A copying assignment is graded zero point.
