    IGNITION AND DETECTION

    ELECTRODES WITH INBUILTRESISTANCE

    APPLICATION

The type and features of the material used to manufacturethese electrodes make them suitable not only as ignition

electrodes, but also as flame sensors in atmospheric gasburners. Thanks to the possibility to fit a resistance inside the

electrodes to reduce the emission of electromagneticinterference upon generation of the electrical spark, these

electrodes are particularly useful when fitted in devices whichhave to meet the requirements of electromagneticcompatibility standards (Directive 89/336/CEE). They are theperfect solution for the manufacture of EMC devices fitted with

"single electrode" ignition and flame monitoring systems.

MANUFACTURING FEATURESElectrodes consist of a kanthal D rod, an insulating glazedalumina ceramic and a steel fixing bracket; whereas the back

side, made of thermoplastic material resisting to hightemperature, is press-forged so as to be fitted to various metalclutches or to a high isolation teflon cable and, if required, to aresistance.

The electrode back working through press-forging enables to

achieve extremely interesting performances:- High torque strength of both rod and bracket; in fact, both

parts are blocked by the plastic material preventing spin.- Possibility to mount a resistance between rod and

terminal, provided with enough strength to stand the stress

generated by the spark energy, and with very reduceddimensions and isolation over 20kV.

    - High impact and vibration strength preventing theelectrode from being accidentally damaged.

Upon request, it is possible to manufacture electrodes with

various ceramic, rod and cable lengths, or with differentresistance values.

ACCESSORIESFor electrodes provided with cylindrical terminal, we cansupply fixing connectors (see Fig.5) to be fitted to cables with

silicone rubber sheath with suitable diameter (see Fig.7). Forthe electrical isolation of the terminals, we can supply nylon orsilicone rubber protections (see Fig.6).
