Real support for mobilisation

More than 30% of patients falls occur when they are getting out of bed. A detailed study of

ergonomics has given rise to a handrail and integrated mobilift, thanks to which the patient gainsassurance when getting up, he regains independence faster, and demanding work is made easier

for medical personnel. So the ingenious and functional solution in support of mobilisation on the

Eleganza 2 bed significantly reduces the risk of falls.

[01] HANDRAIL TO ASSIST IN GETTING UPThe handrail perfectly conforms to the natural position of the wristand the hand. At all angles of the backrest it provides very natural,comfortable and safe support for getting up. More natural:the unique turning of the handrail respects the

ergonomics of the wrist More stable: the handrail has a rough surface to preventslipping

The stability of the thumb and index finger is important for a firmgrip. For this reason the thumb space was created using the latestscanning method.The handrail is functional in all positions (angles) of the backrest.

Safe concept

The safety of the bed has been acknowledged by TV, a most prestigious independent German company. Theyperformed both single and long-term severe tests which confirmed the absolute safety and quality of the Eleganza 2model and issued a certificate of the beds compliance with the standard IEC 60601-2-52:2010.

Although the bed should be a safe space for the patient, falls from a bed or

injuries pose a great problem for medical facilities. Uncompromising safetyis central to the concept of the Eleganza 2 bed. The side rails guarantee a

high level of protection against falls, and many other safety features make

Eleganza 2 a bed with the highest possible safety level.

[01] NO FALLS AND INJURIES1. The Eleganza 2 complies fully with the EN 60601-2-52 safety

standard.2.The original 4SAFEside rails run the entire length of the

mattress platform and prevent falls between the side rail andfoot board. No additional protector for the foot part is necessary.3. The handrail provides maximum support for getting up safely.

The ergonomics increase the certainty of mobilisation.4. The Brake Alarm prevents falls resulting from an unbraked bed.5. The night-time illumination of the bed makes it easier to find

moves when the bed is being positioned. So the sleeves forthe lifting poles and infusion stands located in the cornersremain in place, and there is no risk of an injury to the patient orpersonnel.

BACKLIT ANGLE GAUGE

The attractively designed angle gauge indicates the tilt of the

mattress platform and backrest clearly and with accuracy. At night,

the backlighting can be changed to green representing a highly

intuitive and clear indication of the lowest safe position of the bed.

LONGER LIFE OF BEDMOTOR PROTECTION REDUCES SERVICING COSTSThe most frequent causes of faults in a beds motors are thebed getting stuck under an obstacle (for example a windowsill)or its overloading. Subsequent repairs are expensive and timeconsuming. The Eleganza 2 has separate current protection foreach motor, which prevents potential damage in the case of a motoroverload. Protection is electronic, and after the elimination of theoverload the bed is ready for use without any intervention.

[03] VITAL MONITORVital Monitor is an extremely sensitive sensor system built directlyinto the bed structure. This system scans the patients vital signswithout any contact and is activated immediately after the patientlies down on the bed. I t uses wireless Wi-Fi transmission to displaythe values obtained in this way on optional peripheral devices (PC,TV set, phone, iPad).

The beds transport qualities are excellent and make work easier for all nursing staff. Thanks to

the fifth castor the bed is easy to manoeuvre, and many special functions reducing the demandsfor patient support by staff also make treatment and transport easier.

Comfortable care

Comfort improves the mental condition of the patient and speeds up his

convalescence. The mattress platform of the Eleganza 2 bed has been adapted tospecific hospital conditions so that it can offer the greatest comfort.

[03] MATTRESS PLATFORMThe 90cm wide mattress platform offers a high level of comfort to all patients. The specially designed ventilation channels allow air to circulate under

the mattress and so cool it and reduce moisture.Holders along the edge of the mattress platform are designed for thecatching and targeted draining of fluids which would otherwise remainunder the mattress.

The mattress platform is made of blow moulded plastic parts and socan be cleaned very well.

[04] AUTO-REGRESSIONOne significant aid in the fight against pressure ulcers is auto-regressionof the mattress platform, i.e., increasing the space in the pelvic area by11cm by sliding the backrest. This results in a reduction in pressure andfrictional forces, risk factors for the formation of bedsores.

SWITCHING OFFOF THE BACKLIGHT BUTTON

In the case of sensitive patients who maybe disturbed by night-time backlighting, thepersonnel can, with a single touch, switchoff the night illumination of bed chassis andbacklighting of all controllers and anglegauges.

AUTOMATIC HALTING OFBACKREST AT 30

Practical automatic halting of backrest atthe most frequently used angle of 30.Operation is easy - during positioning thebackrest automatically stops at 30. Thisfunction covers one of the most basicstandards in healthcare defined by GCI .

CARDIAC CHAIR

GO BUTTON

The controllers are activated by the GO buttonfor a period of up to 3 minutes from the lastpush. The controllers are inactive in unguardedmoments, so they cannot be activatedunwittingly.

2 MOBILIFT

Button located in an original manner for

the first time integrated into the plastic side

rail! It lifts the mattress platform and enables

comfortable and safe control of lifting during

patient mobilisation.

5 PATIENT SATELLITE CONTROL UNIT

The control symbols are large and highly

visible. The buttons are colour differentiated,

and they have a relief design for patients

with seeing difficulties.

3 HANDSET

The practical controller for the patient and nurse contains

control of the basic positions of the bed, including tilt of

backrest and setting of bed height. The controller has an

examination light and can have a backlit keypad.

1 SUPERVISOR CONTROL PANEL

The nurses Supervisor control panel has an

ergonomic shape, and its clear graphics

are user friendly. Amongst its many functions

it also has a memory for 4 positions

cardiac chair, CPR, Trendelenburg and

Reverse Trendelenburg.

4 CONTROLS IN SIDE RAIL

The controller located in the side rail is easily

accessible to the patient and makes it possible

to configure the basic position of the bed. A

less mobile patient can also use the controller.

6 FOOT CONTROLS

The foot controller is located on the chassis

of the bed along both sides and enables

the easy configuration of the height and

examination position. It is fitted with a

mechanical protector to prevent accidental

activation.
