Framework of the Electrical Engineering
• Two are the properties of the matter: the mass and the charge. Hence the phenomena and their applications are of two kinds: those due to the gravitation and the EM ones.
• The EM phenomena have applications in the fields of energyand information.
• About 60 % of the energy utilized is transported and utilized under the form of electrical energy. The generation, the transport, and the utilization of electrical energy are based on the Electrical Technology.
• Information technology is based on electric and electronic circuits and EM fields for which the basic concepts of the Electrical Engineering is fundamental.

PROGRAMThe Electrical Engineering regards the EM Fields and the Electrical Circuits. This course will be mainly devoted to the circuits. The circuits and their operations are based on the laws (three independent laws) by which the EM phenomena are ruled. The chapters of the course are:
1. Electrical quantities2. Electric circuit theory3. Alternate currents4. Methods for the circuit analysis5. Frequency response6. Transient regime7. Three phase systems8. Magnetic circuits9. Electro-‐mechanic conversion

Course Organization
• The slights of each next lesson and the lesson notes will be on the course web site to download (www.die.ing.unibo.it/pers/borghi/didattica.htm).
• Teacher can be contacted: during the lessons and/or after them and by email ([email protected]).
• The exam will be in the written form. There will be exams two or three times per session during periods when there are no classes. On request the written exam can be completed with an oral integration. Only for out-‐of-‐course students exams will be scheduled during the classes periods.
• During the lessons, one or two exam trials followed by a discussion on the works will be organized for the students interested to do it.
