Crafts in Negotin SUMMARYCrafts hav long bn subjct of many thnologists. Prvious studis, particularly among th Balcan popls, gav our contribution not only to scinc but also in gnral. Ethnographic Musum in Blgrad has Dpartmnt that dals with this issu thoroughly. This booklt is a contribution that can contribut to comparativ studis and analogis, thnological and musological scinc. Fild rsarch work and objcts from th collction of th Musum of Krajina illustrat this thm. Comparativ study of Ngotin crafts, gnsis btwn past and prsnt, can provid information for futur rsarch. Th ida for this work cam from th fact that Ngotin was on of th major conomic cntrs of Eastrn Srbia and th town of trad. Today thr ar no surviving old crafts. Th activitis of prsrving intangibl cultural hritag, including protction of traditional crafts, in addition to oral tradition, rsarch, languag, rituals, customs, social practics, knowldg and skills. Cultural hritag is in dangr of disapparing du to globalization and th prvasiv hgmony of cultural xprssion. Prsrvation of procss (not th subjcts), through th idntification, documntation, rsarch, knowldg transfr and promotion of cultural pattrn hlps prsrving groups or individuals who practic it. It is ncssary to nsur xchang of viws, not only from this part of Srbia but also th ntir rgion, in ordr to prsrv th old crafts on which city of Ngotin livd in th 19th and arly 20th cntury. Th right and obligation of all of us is to prsrv cultural hritag, thus nriching th spiritual contnt of our community and socity in gnral. 49
