Level One

Modules 1-2-3

Level One training modules are for students that do not meet the literacy and numeracy

requirements for Level Two courses or for students that would like to improve numeracy

and literacy skills to improve their employment opportunities and advancement. The Level

One course consists of 72 hour of classroom and practical welding instruction and

simulated work experience. The duration of Level One courses may vary based on literacy

and numeracy training and requirement completion. The training hours will vary

depending on the student TABE scores for this portion of the Level One course

requirements. Students will be given the TABE test to determine numeracy and literacy

gains. When a student achieves adequate gains based on TABE level improvements, they

will exit numeracy/literacy training and complete the reminder of the 72 hours of Welding.

Training will take place Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Students will

attend numeracy/literacy training from 6:00pm to 7:00pm and occupational skills training

(Welding) from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
