專業英語傳意( 榮譽 )文學士BACHELOR OF ARTS (HONOURS) IN ENGLISH FOR PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION
課程特色與結構專業英語傳意(榮譽)文學士課程,一方面提供多元化教學模式讓學生學習語言學、文學、批判性思維、哲學、西方文化以及美學等;另一方面,課程實際應用領域包括出版和編輯技巧、媒體傳意、商業英語和外語
(法語、德語、日語、韓語和西班牙語)的基礎知識和溝通。本校亦與多間海外大學合 作,為學生提供不同的交流計劃和活動。
Programme Features and Structure
The B.A. (Hons) in English for Professional Communication
(BAEPC) introduces you to linguistics, literature, critical thinking,
philosophy, elements of Western civilisation, and the fine arts.
Practical areas include: publishing and editing skills, media
presentation skills, awareness of global issues and more. You learn
the basics and then specialise in one of two streams. There is
also an opportunity to acquire other languages (French, German,
Japanese, Korean and Spanish), enhanced by our student
exchange programmes with overseas partner universities.

Two focal points:
Opportunities for Further Studies & Overseas Exchange
• Graduates can apply for admission to a master’s programme offered by a local or an overseas
university
• Our active partner University of Potsdam in Germany (Department of English and American
Studies) welcomes our graduates to further their studies
Traditional skills in English language and culture; professional training in Business, Technical
Writing, Media and Publishing.

A Degree in English gives you opportunities in a variety of work environments
• Commercial Firms and Organisations need people with good language skills
• Advertising and Event Management Companies – communication skills are vital
• Legal Firms – English is key
• Publishing Houses – superior English is greatly valued
• The Media, including TV and Radio Stations and News Agencies, function in English to a large extent
• Banks, Insurance Companies and Financial Organisations – need graduates with excellent English
• The Executive and Administrative Grade in the Civil Service need graduates with strong English and well-rounded skills
Summary of the Results of Graduate Employment Survey
• The English Department conducted a brief graduate employment survey for the EPC graduates.
• The Department collected the following data: present status (employed, self-employed and further studies), present job
nature and position of the graduates. The results of the graduate employment survey are summarized as follows.
