Which event in the novel you have studied is the most interesting
part of the story? Give reasons to support your answer.
I choose the novel The Railway Children written by Edith Nesbit. The
most interesting part of the story is the saving of the train. There
are many reasons why the event is the most interesting.
One day, Bobbie, eter and hyllis see a landslide. art of the hill falls
on the railway line. The children have to warn the ne!t train or elsethere will be a terrible accident. They ma"e flags from the girls#
petticoat. $hen the train comes, Bobbie r%ns forward waving the
flags. The train stops &%st in time.
'irst of all, this event is the most interesting part of the story
beca%se it shows that the children are clever. To save the ne!t train,
they come o%t with a very creative idea. They tie the girls# red
petticoat to stic"s to ma"e flags, which they %se to warn the train ofdanger ahead.
(part from that, from this event we can see that the children,
especially Bobbie, are brave. They "now that they have to stop thetrain before a bad accident happen. $hen the train is coming very
fast, Bobbie r%ns onto the trac", waving the flags. It is a co%rageo%sact, which I thin" not many people wo%ld dare to do.
In a n%tshell, the saving of the train is the most interesting part of
the story beca%se it shows that the children, Bobbie, eter andhyllis, are clever and brave. I li"e this story very m%ch.
Which event in the novel you have studied is the most important
incident in the story? Give reasons to support your answer.
Based on the novel )The Railway Children* by Edith Nesbit, an event
that I thin" most significant is when the children the children, Bobbie, eter and hyllis wor" together to prevent a train accident. +pon
discovering a landslide at the railway trac" %p ahead, the children try
to alert an oncoming .-am train from crashing into the landslide.
eter who a /%ic"0thin"ing s%ggests to %se the red petticoats as flagsto warn the train as he "nows that red colo%r means dangero%s.
Besides, Bobbie also shows her bravery when she r%ns onto the railwaytrac" and waving the flags to stop the oncoming train. 'ort%nately, the
children1s bravery and /%ic"0thin"ing have save the train from beinginvolved in a deadly accident and save the life of the train passengers.
I thin" this event to be the most significant as the children havedemonstrated their mat%rity and compos%re in preventing a terrible
train accident. 'or instance, the children strain every nerve and ris"their live to save the train from crashing into the landslide. In
addition, the event also reveals the tr%e nat%re of the children who
are "ind and always concern for others.
2astly, the children1s act of bravery is later hono%r by the train
company in a special ceremony at the train station where each of them
receives a gold watch. 3oreover, the event also brings the childrencloser to the Old 4entleman. (ll in all, I find this event to be the most
significant as I learned the val%e of bravery, "indness and alwaysconcern for others after reading it.

them to get into tro%ble. 6e wants to be responsible for his action
himself.
I admire ETER beca%se he has many positive /%alities.
