The Agriculture sector started delivering seeds from mid-April for the meher season planting, which took place from June to September. As of end of September, about 98 percent of crop seeds had been delivered against the plans.
The new academic year started late September. The Ministry of Education has prepared a plan to provide school
Emergency Response. Humanitarian partners have planned to provide school feeding to 1.1 million school children. Funding is yet to be secured. The provision of learning supplies to about 1.7 million (42%) school children, as well as the provision of WASH for 200 schools and the establishment of 37 temporary learning centers is ongoing.
As of August 2016, 718,154 persons (130,573 households) were reported as displaced in Ethiopia. By the end of September, the cluster had reached more than 189,750 people (34,500 households) with emergency shelter materi-al and household non-food items such as kitchen sets and beddings.
In September, the food sector continued dispatching and distributing food under rounds six and seven, out of nine rounds planned in 2016. As of the date of publication, there were concerns about potential pipeline breaks in the last quarter of 2016.
In September, more than 2,500 health care workers in the country were trained on AWD and scabies. In Addis Aba-ba, Amhara, Harari, Oromia and SNNP regions, 85% of children targeted for measles immunization were reached.
Throughout the month of September, the Logistics Cluster continued to support NDRMC and humanitarian
the implementation of Mobile Storage Units (MSUs). As of the 11th of October, 71 MSUs had been erected, and 4 warehouses had been rented to NDRMC in Adama (Nazret), providing 44,400 MT of additional storage and reach-ing 74% of the target. As per UNDSS regulations, restrictions on movement in Oromia and the limited access to
NDRMC, the Logistics Cluster through WFP, as a provider of last resort, facilitated the transportation of 230 MT of emergency Non-Food Items (NFIs) donated by DFID to the NDRMC in September.
Overall, severe acute malnutrition admissions have increased in August compared to July and the proportion admitted to the Stabilization Centre is similar to July. 221,233 persons have been admitted with SAM in Jan-August 2016, out of whom 17,809 admitted to inpatient care (8% of total SAM admissions). In September, 100% of MAM

During September the number of children reached with psychosocial support through Child Friendly Spaces increased by 50% to reach a total of 30,462 (16,666 boys, 13,796 girls). Unaccompanied or separated children

migrating (leaving children behind) or children migrating, in search of livelihoods or pasture/water. The number of children supported to return to families has now reached 1,880 (1038 boys, 842 girls).
The WaSH cluster is currently carrying out a comprehensive data cleaning exercise, which is why no new data was provided for September. As of end of August, the WaSH Cluster had reached 86% of the targeted 9,616,260 people. For the provision of safe water, 69.6% of the target population was reached, including through construc-tion and rehabilitation of safe water sources, water trucking as well as provision of water containers and water treatment chemicals. Hygiene promotion services reached 16.4% of the target population. Hygiene and sanitation
while 10% have gone to institutions (schools and health centres).

The Logistics Cluster, led by WFP, supports the Government in the coordination of delivery of humanitarian assistance in response to the current drought through increased logistics coordination and information management. To support the supply chain and response of the GoE and the humanitarian community, the Logistics Cluster also identifies, proposes mitigating activities and fills logistics gaps through the ad-hoc provision of logistics services, when necessary and requested.
