SENIOR CHAPLAIN
PROMOTED
A Navy chaplain was promoted to the rank of captain
by Chief of Naval Chaplains Rear Adm. Mark Tidd
during a promotion ceremony at the U.S. Naval
Academy Chapel Sept. 3.
Capt. Michael Gore is the senior chaplain at the Naval
Academy, leading a team of active duty chaplains,
enlisted religious program specialists, civilian staff, and
volunteers responsible for delivering counseling and
ministry to 4,500 Midshipmen and the Annapolis public.
Promotions are a signicant part of any military career
and a central event to share with friends and family.
Gore was accompanied by his wife and son, whoserves in the U.S.
Air Force. Gores promotion to the
rank of captain was one more milestone in a Navy
career that began in 1995.
Midshipmen from the Naval Academys Yard Patrol
Squadron and enlisted Navy personnel of Waterfront
Readiness Annapolis went underway on the newest
class Yard Patrol (YP) Craft Aug. 30 to Philadelphia.

USNA GARDEN CLUBThe Garden Club will hold a meeting Sept. 17 at

Naval Academy Club. Come at 9:30 a.m. to socialize
