Brief Introduction of We Will Shine Project

Background

On May 12th, 2008, less than three months before China hosted the Olympics, an earthquake oc-curred in SiChuan that killed at least 69,000 people. During the earthquake, a disproportionately high number of school structures collapsed, especially in rural areas of Sichuan. So far, 200,000 homes had been rebuilt, 685,000 are under reconstruction and 1,300 schools have been reconstructed. However, among other things, lots of students in this area still have no chance to experience any kind of foreign culture. These students could use your help to open their eyes.

What is We Will Shine Project?

The We Will Shine project, initialized by AIESEC SJTU, aims at helping children in SiChuan con-nect to the world, in order to broaden their horizon. By joining the We Will Shine Project as a volun-teer, you will have the opportunity to explore and experience the real China - both in Shanghai and in Western China. You will get to know the local and traditional cultures of China, interact with local students, and participate in cultural festivals and student activities.
