Ride the rails of a world-famous train to the world’s best fun on wooden runners: That’s sledging ad-venture at Preda / Darlux – Bergün. Your journey starts with your train going through deep tunnels and over high viaducts. The line runs downhill from Preda taking you to the start of your six-kilometre sledge descent down to Bergün. Chur / St. Moritz – TiranoThe Albula and Bernina lines of the Rhaetian Rail-way offer one of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps. As it snakes up and down hill, the train manages – without a rack mechanism of any kind – to make light work of inclines of up to 70 millimetres per metre. The snow-clad high-point of the RhB is Ospizio Bernina, at 2,253 metres above sea level. Our comfortable observation cars offer the best way to enjoy the impressive pano-ramic views of the white, snow-clad mountains. Passing by mighty glaciers and frozen lakes, and crossing vast expanses of snowy Alpine meadow, the Bernina Express runs through 55 tunnels and over 196 bridges. The section between Thusis and Tirano has been classed as a UNESCO World Herit-age site. A milestone in our history.

You slide around at least as many curves as the train does. But it feels much faster. Instead of travel-ling from Preda to Bergün, keen sledgers can take the steep slope from Darlux to Bergün.
