the entrance of Hall 1. We’ll keep it safe for a few days, before we feed it to Jabba the Hutt.

BOUGHT A BOOTLEG? Damn! Try to point us in the direction of the culprit so we can have them

removed from FACTS. Sadly, we can’t offer a refund or be held responsible for it though.

WEAPON RULES Weapons that go with your Cosplay costume are allowed under certain

strict regulations. Read the Weapon Rules thorougly (at our information booth).

LOCKERS Lockers to stow away your belongings

(or your recently purchased gems) are available at the entrance.

Hi,We’re turning 25. Nitpickers will state correctly that the first edition was only held in 1993, but thanks to two double-edition years, we’re blowing out 25 candles this year already. To everybody that supported us through the years: we love you. We really do.

We’re celebrating that 25th birthday in good company, by the way. Hubble is doing the same thing after a quarter of a century in space. The fact that the largest telescope in the world hasn’t caught a glimpse of Vulcan or Mab-Bu VI is not surprising. We know our technology still has a way to go.

Other things turning 25 this year: The Human Genome Project. Boy, did we think that was science fiction when it started. T-rex Sue was unearthed 25 years ago and The Blackbird flew for the last time. Motorola (remember them?) released a wristwatch pager. Yeah, really. And, IMDB premiered. Nice one, that.

We hope you’ll have a blast. And God knows what we’ll talk about after another 25 episodes.

right here in Flanders Expo, Ghent.SAVE THE DATE

1993Two tables, forty visitors and some tasty beers in café Het

Tonneke in Ghent. We had posters back then, but only thirty.

And most were bad copies.

1995Edition three was the one with the first

big screen projection of three Anime movies. We can’t for the life of us

remember what they were. But they must have been great because some

fifty fans were hooked for hours.

25 EDITIONSFACTS

2000FACTS 2000 saw coloured posters,

sponsors and Carl Struycken. We counted 1600 visitors. Compared to today, that’s still

peanuts. But to us back then, it was truly me-morable. We owe a great deal to those

first edition fans. So if that’s you: thanks!

1999In 1999 Richard Leparmentier

came to FACTS. With the arrival of Admiral Motti in Ghent, we felt as if we were the centre of some

galaxy far far away.

2001Remember when we had a 1/4

size AT AT in our hallway?

2015After 25 editions we’re no longer

newbies. FACTS is bigger and more interesting than ever before.

2005We were lucky enough to have

Stargate SG-1 General Hammond blow out the candles at our 15th

birthday party.

2009We outgrew the much loved ICC.

Only Flanders Expo was large enough to welcome you all.

2014Cosplay was never bigger. You guys

dressed up as Chewbacca, the Joker, Daenerys Targaryen, The Green Arrow ... We’re still talking about some of those

awesome costumes!

Dirk is one of only thirteen Lego Certified Professionals. He once built all stages

of Michael Jackson in Lego, and he now teaches you to build your own FACTS-hero

in 3D. It’s a lot harder than it looks, but Dirk is an awesome teacher (with some

amazing voice-acting capabilities too).
