Based on Thomas Hardy's celebrated novel, this the story of headstrong and independent minded Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan) who, while refusing to give in to the pressures of a male dominated rural society, attracts the attention of three very different suitors. Gabriel Oak- a sheep farmer, Frank Troy - a handsome and reckless Sergeant and William Boldwood - a prosperous and mature bachelor. This is a passionate story of love found, lost and found again set against Bathsheba's struggles to be accepted in her own right and maintain her independence against all the odds.
