RAJA CASABLANCA v. AUCKLAND CITY FC
- This will be the first meeting between Raja Casablanca (MAR) and Auckland City FC (NZL).
- Raja Casablanca have not played opponents from Oceania before. They have faced teams from Europe, Asiaand South America.
- Auckland City will face African opposition for the third time in FIFA Club World Cup history. They lost 2-0 toAl Ahly SC (EGY) in the first round of the 2006 tournament and they beat TP Mazembe (COD) 3-2 in the 5thplace play-off in 2009.
- The FIFA Club World Cup is yet to be won by a team from Africa or Oceania.
RAJA CASABLANCA
- Raja Casablanca qualified as winners of the 2012/13 Moroccan national league to represent the host nation.
- It was Raja Casablanca's first league win since 2011 and their 11th in total. They are now one league trophy
shy of equalling FAR Rabat and Wydad Casablanca as the most successful teams in Moroccan league history.
- Raja Casablanca won their first league title in 1988 and dominated the Moroccan league between 1996-2001,winning six consecutive titles. This is still a Moroccan record.
- Raja Casablanca are currently ranked eighth in the league, four points behind leaders MA Tétouan (as of 4December. Next matchround on 7-8 December).
- Mohsine Moutaouali is currently Casablanca's top scorer in the league on three goals from 11 matches. Lastseason Hamza Abourazzouk became Raja Casablanca's club top scorer scoring 9 league goals.
- Raja Casablanca have scored more than one goal in only two of their 11 league matches this season.
- Raja Casablanca have won the CAF Champions League three times (1989, 1997 and 1999), a Moroccan record.They finished runners-up in 2002, losing to Egyptian side Zamalek SC.
- Moroccan teams have won a combined five CAF Champions League titles, second most with Cameroon andDemocratic Republic of the Congo. Only Egyptian clubs have won more: 13.
- Their 1999 CAF Champions League win secured Raja Casablanca their only previous FIFA Club World Cupappearance, in which they lost all three of their matches against Corinthians (2-0), Al Nasr (4-3) and RealMadrid (3-2).
- This losing streak of three consecutive matches is the equal longest in FIFA Club World Cup history. Pachuca(2008-2010) and South Melbourne (2000- still running) have also suffered three successive defeats.
- Raja Casablanca's five goals in the FIFA Club World Cup are equal most for an African side, together withAhly SC.
- Corinthians are the only club to have won the FIFA Club World Cup on home soil. They achieved this in 2000.

AUCKLAND CITY FC
- Auckland City qualified for the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup as winners of the OFC Champions League.
- They participate for a record fifth time, together with Al Ahly SC who have also qualified for the fifth time.
- Auckland City are the only unbeaten team in the New Zealand league this season, winning three anddrawing one.
- They finished second in the league last March after a thrilling finish in the final of the play-offs. ChristopherBale gave Auckland City a 3-2 lead in the 89th minute, only to see Waitakere United's Roy Krishna net theequaliser one minute later. Allan Pearce then scored the league winning goal for Waitakere United in extratime.
- In May, Auckland City took revenge by beating Waitakere United 2-1 in the final of the OFC ChampionsLeague, securing a record third Champions League crown in a row.

Auckland City beat Waitakere United 4-1 in the ASB Charity Cup Final on 3 November with former WaitakereUnited goalscorer Roy Krishna now netting one of the goals for Auckland City.
- Krishna, all-time OCF Champions League top scorer (17 goals), and Ryan de Vries both left Waitakere Unitedfor rivals Auckland City after last season.
- Krishna can become the sixth player to appear at the FIFA Club World Cup for both Auckland City andWaitakere United.
- Krishna replaces Manel Exposito, who was Auckland City's top scorer in the league (8 goals) last season, butleft the club for a move to Belgium.
- Auckland City have won the OFC Champions League and its predecessor the Oceania Club Championship arecord five times, including the last three editions.
- Fellow New Zealand side Waitakere United are the only other team to have won multiple titles.
- Auckland City have won four New Zealand league titles (based on Grand Finals, which are reached throughplay-offs at the end of the regular season), second-most behind Waitakere United.
- They have not won the league since 2009-10, with Waitakere United winning all titles since then.
- Auckland City's best result at the FIFA Club World Cup is winning the 5th place play-off in 2009, winning 2-0against TP Mazembe. That was Auckland City's second win in a total of seven matches.

Koprivcic will play in his sixth FIFA Club World Cup, a new record for the competition.
Al Ahly’s Aboutrika, Ashour and Gomaa are present at their fifth tournament, while Monterrey’s Lopez andAuckland City’s Feneridis, Pritchett and Vicelich will appear for the fourth time.
A total of 33 players previously participated in a FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Ahly’s trio Aboutrika, Ashour and Gomaa having to date played ten matches in this competition could reacha new record.
