FRUIT OF THE WORD

The seed is the word of God. The agricultural metaphors in all of today’s readings give richness to the message that the word of God, cultivated in our hearts, bears much fruit in our lives. Creation itself awaits the redemption of all, even as our bodies await the resurrection. Just as we will rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s word, so will all of crea-tion sing for joy in the Reign of God. The word of God is ef-fective and holy; it brings about exactly what it says. It is not futile or empty, but rich in meaning for those who hear and are healed. Those who hear the word of God and keep it will, with all creation, bear much fruit and sing for joy. Copyright © J. Father to Attend Conference in Indiana Please pray for Father Mauricio as he travels to

South Bend, Indiana this week. He will be attending a conference especially designed for Pastors of

Catholic Schools. Let us pray that he has a safe and enjoyable trip and that the information he receives will be a blessing to him as well as our St. Rose of

Lima School.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS DONATIONS! The St. Rose students who are bound for Steubenville Northwest at the end of this month thank all the very generous parishioners who gave for

the second collection last weekend. We raised $1,671.34 in scholarships for the trip. If you were unable to give and are wanting to assist a student, please put your donation in the offering plate and mark it: “Steubenville”. Thank you church family for showing support to our teens!! Let us pray that each student who attends the conference will be

inspired and moved by the Holy Spirit!

PRAYER CHAIN If you would like to place someone on the prayer chain, please call Grace Nelson at 754-4209 or email [email protected] or call the Parish Office.

THANK YOU FROM THE BUTTERLY FAMILY The family of Joan Butterly would like to extend a big

thank you to the parish of St. Rose of Lima. They thank you for all the food, cards, loving words and prayers that have been given and appreciate the lovely funeral reception that

so many donated towards.

Thank you to all those who signed up to help with a ministry last weekend! We will be contacting you soon, if we haven’t already. If you didn’t get a chance to sign up, that’s ok! Please call the Parish Office and let us know how you feel called to serve the Lord. St. Rose of Lima needs you!! We need Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Acolytes, Homebound volunteers, and many more to help keep our parish alive and bearing fruit for the Lord.

Don’t let anything get in the way of serving. Remember: “The Church is a hospital for Sinners, not a club for Saints.” God didn’t call those who are perfect for his service, on the contrary, he

called the imperfect! St. Paul said, “With fear and trembling, let us work out our salvation”.

IN LOVING MEMORY

We as a church family offer our love and pray-ers for Garrett Dano and his friends and family during this time of loss. He was a true blessing to all who knew him. May

the angels lead Garrett to paradise. Eternal rest grant unto him, oh

Lord. Amen. The Mass of Christian burial will be

Wednesday, July 19th at 11 am at Our Lady of Fatima, with a reception to follow. The Rosary will be said here at St. Rose on

Tuesday, July 18th at 7 pm.

ST. ROSE BOASTS YOUNG MISSIONARY

Did you know St. Rose of Lima Church has a young parishioner that has answered the call to spread the Gospel? Our very own Clarissa Vela has recently completed her training with Focus Missions to become a college campus mission-ary. If you would like to learn more about her vocation or if you would like to support her financially, please contact her at: [email protected] or 509.398.3260. Let us hold her up in prayer as she embarks on this new adventure!

Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co., Inc.
