What isCommunity?

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.John 1:7

At the center or hub of life is not me as an individual but us as members of the Christian community. Church is not another ball for me to juggle but that which defines who I am and gives Christlike shape to my life.Steve Timmis - Total Church

Why Caregroups?//Community is an essential part of what we are about at Open Door. We have structured ourselves in a way that will provide you with an opportunity to grow together with other followers of Jesus. The way we accomplish community at Open Door is through our CareGroups. These CareGroups are the building blocks of our church. They gather for fellowship and instruction, discuss the Bible together, pray for one another, serve one another, and participate together in the Great Commission. While all the groups listed meet multiple times throughout the month, they are organized here by their main meeting time when they discuss the sermon that was preached on Sunday morning.

MidweekThroughout the week we gather in different homes

and on our campus for sermon discussion,

prayer and fellowship.

Early SundayBefore our services

different caregroups gather to discuss

the previous weeks sermon, for prayer and fellowship.

9:30 SundayDuring our first service

many different caregroups gather across our campus to discuss the previous week’s

sermon and prepare for corporate worship.

11:30 SundayDuring our second service many different caregroups

gather across our campus to discuss the sermon they’ve

just heard and reflect on corporate worship.

Children’s MinistryOur desire is to support and assist families in the responsibility of raising children to know and love the Lord Jesus Christ. We encourage you to see the children’s ministry for much more than just a safe and structured environment for kids. At Open Door, we believe that the way God intends for us to communicate the truth about His incomparable character and the wonder of His works (Deut 6:1-9, Psalm 78:1-8) to children is PRIMARILY through the faithful instruction of parents who are equipped and supported by the church (Eph 6:4, Col 3:21). We also believe that every member of Open Door can help in some way to assist parents in this responsibility. We are a covenant community of believers who have been given a generational command (Psalm 145:4, Gal 6:10, Eph 4:1-16, Ro 12:3-8). For this reason we eagerly provide programs and events like Sunday School, Awana, Upwards Sports, Power Camp, Father-son campout, Mother-Daughter Tea, and many more.
