The new 10,000sq m production facility boasts

the latest in modern technologies offered by the

market, the most notable of which is the innova-

tive concrete mixing tower: standing 34 metres

high, it can hold 400 cubic metres of aggregate

and up to 300 tonnes of concrete. The mixture is

released along 5 production lines, which can pro-

duce 60,000 linear metres of prestressed con-

crete posts a day.

The metalwork department employs dedicated

machinery to machine and process steel, which is

then assembled on 4 robotic welding lines. It also

has an automatic metal-forming line that shapes,

drills and cuts 4,000 steel posts a day.

The warehouse takes up 2,000 sq m: it can hold

6,000 items, which are kept in stock to provide

customers with a continuous supply and A-to-Z

service. Our customers’ orders are handled by a

cutting-edge information system, which ensures

that products are dispatched promptly and reliably.

The company also provides a road transport ser-

vice using its own means and specialized person-

nel, and even rail transport for greater distances.

All these exceptional facts are the product of the

constant, daily work of 70 employees, wherein

lies the key to Valente SpA’s leadership.

The Research and Development department examines information

provided directly by Valente customers in order to create products

that truly meet market demands. Choosing the most appropriate ma-

terials, designing the most efficient shape, creating prototypes, suitably

testing future models: all these steps are essential if the new product is

to live up to the great expectations that customers have for this leading

company .

In collaboration with the University  of Padua

and Milan Polytechnic, prototypes are tested to

determine ultimate load, tensile and torsional

strength, etc.. The values resulting from these

tests show us which “path to take” for the

manufacture of that product in order to be sure

that we give the market the   Valente QUALITY

that is a longstanding hallmark of this brand.

Since many years the company Valente SpA

has structured its organization according to

internationally recognized quality standards.

The quality of its production, management and

laboratory processes earned the company

UNI EN ISO 9001:2000  certification back in

July 2002, essentially providing customers with

the assurance they are dealing with a structured,

efficient, well-organized company    that can

promptly deliver effective answers and solutions.

Furthermore, Valente SpA - number one in the

industry  - has been awarded the prestigious

new DNV product certification for prestressed

concrete posts, whichattests their life, resistance

to freezing and extraordinary mechanical strength,

achieved through raw materials and production

processes that have been strictly certified according

 to the following standards:

UNI EN12620 UNI EN 934-2 UNI EN 10016-1

UNI EN 12839 UNI EN ISO 1461:99 UNI EN 287-1

and completing the procedure with the correct

batching of materials, perfect mixing, and strict

quantity and quality control.

  A new standard of product

quality has been established

against which all companies

in the business must measure

up.

DISpOSAL Of OLD pOSTS ThE ENVIRONMENTALLy fRIENDLy wAy

INSURINg ANDfUNDINg ThEINVESTMENTBy choosing the system Valente it means to

guarantee one’s own investment, insuring it

through a suitable policy that protects it againstdamages caused directly by hurricanes, storms,

tornados, wind and anything carried by the wind.

A modern, profitable system protected against

risks deriving from serious weather events.

An investment that is both intelligent and

affordable thanks to the loan schemes specially

implemented through some of the Italian credit

institutions.

Getting rid of old concrete posts (which, although they are not classed as toxic, still

qualified as special waste) causes serious problems for farmers: high costs, lack of

specific services in many areas of Italy, red tape. This great problem is solved by Valente - who has suitable facilities and the relevant

permit issued by the Chamber of Commerce - through their “used material removal”

service, which allows customers to get rid of worn material and thus help keep the

farm clean and tidy: important indicators that highlight the primary role played by the

farmer in looking after the environment.

VINEyARD Valente SpA assesses the parameters that determine which ma-

terials are chosen to produce the vine training systems. For in-

stance, the number of plants per hectare, the most suitable kind

of training, post density per hectare.

Systems projected according to fully mechanized vineyard ,

which reduces manpower operations and, above all, enables har-

vesting to take place at the best time.

Valente SpA furnishes solutions for the installation of vineyard

systems, whose training methods are internationally standard-

ized: Guyot, Spur-Pruned Cordon-Trained, Free Cordon, GDC and

Casarsa.

GUYOT

Training method that provides excellent leaf exposure.

It consists of a vertical trunk that carries a fruiting cane

8-10 buds long - trained horizontally along the wire -

and a 1-2 bud basal spur used to generate next year’s

replacement.

With the Guyot system, mechanical work can be

performed with good results: topping, cane tying and

harvesting are all jobs that can be carried out easily.

Suitable for vines with low basal fertility.

SPUR-PRUNED CORDON-TRAINED

Training method that lends itself particularly well to a high

level of mechanization. It consists of a vertical trunk and a

permanent branch, or cordon, which is trained horizontally

along the wire, placed at a height of 80-100 cm, on which

short spurs are left to generate the fruiting shoots.

Prestressed concrete posts or iron posts are used.

The vertical trunk is 80-100 cm in height and the

fruiting head sits on a “supporting” wire on which 1 or

2 pairs of wires are positioned, which are designed to

accommodate the vegetation, promoting consistently

upward growth.

FREE CORDON

Training method consisting of a permanent horizontal

cordon positioned at a height of 1.60-1.65 m on which

short spurs are left, which must all be pointed upwards,

to generate the fruiting shoots. This simple and

affordable structure does away altogether with the need

for tying, hence it should be used with varieties that bear

assurgent shoots. A wire runs along the top of the posts,

carrying the weight of the vine. The cordon can be made

mobile to allow for mechanical harvesting by means of

 vertical rather than horizontal shaking.

GDC

This system can grant excellent productivity due to a

fully mechanized process allowing harvesting by vertical

shaking. It consists of two permanent cordons that bear

short spurs destined to generate the fruiting shoots

concentrated at the two ends. The two permanent

cordons run along two wires held equidistant by self-

supporting arms. The two grape-producing curtains

must be clearly separated if the system is to be

managed properly. Consequently, it is necessary to

perform “combing” since this ensures that the curtain

develops on its own and helps to encourage spurs togrow outwards.

CASARSA

Training method consisting of a permanent horizontal

cordon positioned at a height of 1.50-1.60 m on which

4-6 bud fruiting heads are left. The fruiting canes are left

free and the vegetative growth (upward) is completely

separate from the crop growth (downward) and lies

below the main cordon.

2 wires or even 2 pairs of wires are usually positioned

above the supporting wire to hold up the vegetation. It

is suitable for varieties with low basal fertility and it is

characterized by excellent leaf exposure and lends itself

 to the use of machines.

ORchARD  Valente SpA offers a winning solution for the creation of

orchard systems in the shape of their SIKURO system, which

supports all types of netting and screens to meet every need:antihail, antirain and shade.

Valente orchard structures are designed to stand the test of

time and take considerable weight: actually an orchard crop

never yields less than 40 tonnes of fruit. They are designed for

modular installation, which is much quicker, thus significantly

reducing labour costs and setup time.

SPINDLE

Training method consisting of a strong frame made up

of posts placed 6-8 m apart and sticking out at least 3.2

m above the ground. 4 parallel wires are tied between

them to support the plants, which are planted with a

0.5-1m spacing. To support the lowest branches, a pair

of parallel wires are installed approx. at 0.80 m off the

ground and set 0.80 m apart. The distance between rows

usually varies in the range from 3 m to 3.5 m. Features:

well-formed and finished plant (no need to select, prune

or reform fruit branches), low system costs, excellent

product quality.

 V SYSTEM

Plants are planted in the ground with a 0.50 m

spacing between them and angled alternately to the

right and left so as to form a V-shaped structure.

It consists of a strong row of posts placed 6 m apart

with a row spacing of 3.2-3.5 m. To ensure that the crop

canopy is at the right angle, an arm is fitted on each

post measuring 1.35 m across and 2 wires measuring

2.7 mm in diameter are run from the ends.

Features: excellent exposure to sun, vigour control,

structure with low centre of gravity, low running costs.

BIKADO Y SYSTEM

Training method resembling the V system but with a

double canopy obtained from a single plant, with two

to four main branches trained along the system at an

angle. To ensure that the crop canopy is at the right

angle, a pair of arms is fitted on each post. Two wires

are run from the ends and bamboo sticks are positioned,

thus forming the angled trellis to which the plants will be

fastened. Features: low system costs, excellent sunlight

exposure, controlled vigour, good exposure of fruit, no

damage from rubbing, easy harvesting.

PERGOLA SYSTEM

Double curved: a curved support arm is fitted on the top

of the post, training the plant into an arched shape. Four

steel wires are used to support the fruit branches.

Features: plant with balanced number of fruiting canes,

simple pruning management, even plant growth, excellent

fruit quality.

Double straight: the curved arm is replaced by a straight

one, for different winter pruning.

SUPER SPINDLE

The plants have a main trunk with very short branches.

They are placed along the row 0.4 m apart and are

supported by a strong row of posts and three parallel

wires. The crop is concentrated along the main axis,

allowing improved fruit size. Observing the correct ratio

between row spacing/plant height you will improve the

sun exposure, hence better fruit colour. Keeping plants

close to each other, you will get a growthing slowdown

and better vigour control.

Features: better quality, growth-retardant effect on

plants, reduction of orchard running costs, more stable

structure, limited “drift effect” on parasite control.

SIKURO GRANDINE (HAIL)

The system is a tensile structure consisting of vertical

supports connected to each other by means of steel

wires and cables and kept taut by means of special

anchors set in the ground. The net is laid on top to cover

 the rows of fruit plants.

SIKURO PIOGGIA (RAIN)

This covering structure is used over cherry trees and

small fruit crops to stop the product bursting (when it

rains, the fruit gets wet, swells and bursts, encouraging

the growth of mould and rot) and hence being unsuitable

for sale. This type of covering structure is becoming

increasingly popular with today’s growers, protecting the

fruit and promoting early fruit production as a result of

the microclimate created under the structure.

SIKURO SOLE (SUN SHADE)

Very densely woven net used mainly to protect crops

from excessive sun exposure, which can seriously

damage the plants.

“SIKURO”cOVERINgSTRUcTURES

Nowadays, with climate change disrupting traditional

growing rules, all farmers have to defend their crops

from the risks deriving from bad weather.

Hail is the most tangible example: in a matter of

minutes, it can damage the whole harvest irremediably

compromising profitability for years to come. To suitably

shield the fruit and protect your invested capital, Valente

SpA offers a wide range of hail and shade netting and

rain screens.  You can cover your crops by choosing different

system.

The innovative modular system allows quicker and

simpler installation saving on labour costs.
