PASTOR’S MESSAGE I asked Fr. Saied if I could give you an update on him. He is hoping to eventually get back to Palmyra. His parish is three or four mes larger than ours, and he is staying busy. He has had a couple more Covid funerals than we have had but is s ll at less than 15 since the virus started. The vaccine is only now becoming availa-ble for many of them, including Fr. Saied.

Over the summer he runs a program for students, where they have spiritual forma on classes and then travel to Alexandria to swim in the Mediterranean and visit some sights, including an amusement park called Dream Park. The first week was with middle schoolers, who studied the bea tudes, and the second was with high schoolers, who studied the book of Habakuk. Saied said now he thinks of Hershey Park when he goes to Dream Park. He only rode the Wild Mouse at Hershey, but that was enough for him, as he kept screaming, “IT’S VERY, VERY DIFFICULT!”, trying to express the intensity of the ride as he whipped around the turns.

Cop c Catholics celebrate the Assump on of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 21, so Happy Feast Day to them. Saied passes his gree ngs and prayers to everyone at Holy Spirit.
