    Dear friends in Christ:

WE WISH FOR YOU IHE BEST OF EVERYTHING FOR THIS NEW YEAEl

We are looking forward to a fruitful year as we work together forthe Lord.

The college in Zimbabwe will be beginning the next term January17th. We hope this term will be equally as good as the last one, which was very good.

Paul, Margeret and children spent Christmas with Margaret's familyand will be headed to Florida any day now, where Paul will be teaching in Florida Christian College at Kissinunee. We expect them tobe with us for our Faith Promise Conference here at the Largo churchin February.

Brion and Joyce are very happy in their home after being so crowdedinto the college for so long. Now the children have a yard to playin and less confusion and more room.

Ib-ul and Kathy are back working in the Harare Christian Church andsurrounding areas. The church did well in their absence but the attendance did suffer, which was probably due to not having a regularpreacher. This will pick up we feel sure now that Ib.ul is back there.'Ihe new church they started at Sunningdale is a year old now and doing well. God has blessed that new group of people and a new yearwe pray will bring many blessings still and more workers. Kathy'sShona ladies' group is doing literacy three days a week. They alsohave cooking classes and are making baptismal robes for the church.

Pray with us that this new year will bring blessings untold in thecollege and church and many other programs connected with them.

We appreciate so much your prayers, concerns, and financial help, without which we would be unable to continue our work here inZimbabwe.

    In Christi&.n love,

    /mJack and Peggy Pennington

^Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.-Psalm 119:105

    September, 1989

Dear Precious Friends in Christ,Greetings in the nameof Jesus from Harare,

Hov special my time in the U.S. was to me. It was so exciting to see and visit many of you. I trulyenjoyed sharing withso many about the work herein Zimbabwe and especially theZimbabwe ChristianCollege and theGreencroft Christian Church. It was greatto return to many familar smiling faces andmeet some new ones too 11

    ZlliBABWE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

The college has 35 students this new year (began in May 1989)three of them are females and liveoffcampus plus two men that live with their families near-by the campus. We have had 26 graduatesto date since 1984with this past class being our largest of 14graduates. It has been exciting to hearof new churches planted and schools hiring our graduates to teach Religious Education. The graduateshavelooked for placesthat need thei r services and begun to work hard.

Three ofour 1988 graduates were sent tothe Kentucky Christian College last year for further trainingand hope to receive their BA degree in the next two years. I was able to spend a day with these threewhile home--they are working and studing hard. We look forward to their return and the help theywill be for the Lord's work here.

    GREENCROFT CHRISTIAN CHURCH

How exciting tosee how the Greencroft Christian Church has grown. We have numerous new people andseveral new families with strong leadership abilities. Charles and Teresa Kaguda have been a real assetto the church leadership. They are an active, growing Christian couple. The youth have been helpedgreatly by Bruce Yon one of the first year students from Z.C.C. He works with the Senior Youth onFriday nights and with the Junior Youth on Saturday afternoons. Both groups have grown and arecontinuing to grow.

  • We had YBS the week ofAugust 28. We had an average of 125 kids and only 18 he! per/teachers. Wealways look forward to this week with a lot of mixed emotions but the Lord blessed our effforts and wehad a great week. It always seems to be a great time of laughs and joys as the children learn memorywork, songs, games and their lesson.

    CONTINUE TO PRAY

Thank you for the continued prayers and support you have each blessed me with. My ministry herewould not andcould not survive without each of you. Please pray for mystrength and myattitude as Ibegin a new term. Know that I love you andalways love to hear from you.

"Peace to the brothers and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all

who loveour Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love." (Eph. 6:23-24)

    Dear friends of Jayne.

The enclosed letter was sent from Zimbabwe to those who regularly send financial support for herwork. We decided all her friends should receive a copy. Jayne doesn't ask for much, but she worksvery hard for her Lord.

Whenshe went to Zimbabwe In 1986. she went with very little cash, but she was able to buya usedVW Jetta. This car received much use and has now reached the end of the line. During her furlough sheset a goal to raise funds to purchase another vehicle. But this did not happen. She borrowed $6,000.and purchasedanother used car In South Africa - a Toyota. Cars are not readily available In Zimbabwe. After arriving back In Zimbabwe, she learned the duty fee would be 95%of vaue ($5,700) to bringItto Harare.

Jayne had plannedto sell the YW and use the funds to repay her loan, and to use the balance to add toher ministry. Shesold the YW on Friday. October 20th andthen went to get the Toyota.

Currently her regularsupportcomes fromfive (5) churches3 In her hometown ofTallahassee, plus fourteen (14) friends. All of which allows her a monthly salary of $550. plus *500 for hermission work.

Because youshow an Interest In her work, we ask youto prayerfully consider the following;1) Pray everyday for Jayne. her safety, her ministry and her health.2) Once or twice a yearwrite a letter ofencouragement to Jayne. (An aerogram costs 39 cents)3) Find something you can do without. Send $1 or $2 per month to financial support her

ministry. This would help her to reach out to more Zimbabweans for Jesus ChristAll of us must do more for Jesus. If all her friends would respond, who knows what mavelous things

    God will do for us.

"How. then, can they call on the one they have not believed In? And how can they believe In theoneof whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone praching to them? And howcan they preach unless they are sent? As It Is written. 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bringthe good news!'" (Rom. 10:14-15)

    Dearest Friends,

Greetings of Thariksgivirtg and joy for this Monderfalholiday season/

As I reflect upon the last four yearSf I realizemore and more my need for each one of you, I knoN thatmy time here has been at times trying and at times fullof joy. Each one of you^ through your prayers and yourgifts has helped me to grot*i in the Lord more and more.My prayer is that you have each grown to love and dependon the Lord more in these last four years too/

As we approach the Christmas season 1 am reminded ofthe grateful and thankful faces of the students in thepast Mhen I have given them a pen and some candy forChr i stmas-a small gift but the joy and excitement thayhave given in return makes my itork load here seem lighter

Just as the Magi brought gifts to the baby JesusboMing before him and worshipping Him (matt, 2:11} andthe shepherds glorified and praised God for all thethings they had heard and seen Cluke 2:20). May eachof us look forward to this season and truly give thanks^glorifying the one who came to give each of us eternal1 ife ,

Thank you for the many prayers and gifts of suppor t,God bless you all and a very Happy and Joyful Chr istmas,

    Hith much love.

  • "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, will toward men-" (Luke 2s 14) What a beauti-ful way toexplain to the world that the Son o-f Man has arrived- Andas the shepherds did so long ago, let's return to give Godthe glory and praise, He so richly deserves.

    good

We join with Jayne Linda in wishing you a Happy andJoyous Christmas. We thank you, on her behal-f, -for the wayyou have stood with her as she labors across the sea inZimbabwe. We are also grate-ful the way you respond wheneverwe bring to your attention a special need -for Jayne-
