domain (Application Form)– Commitment of marketing dollars to advertise the
website featuring the .Asia domain– Should not infringe the prior rights of others
• Best proposals wins right to operate the best .Asia domains
• Business plan contest with many winners!
Pioneer Domain Program
• Objectives:– Encourage positive & active usage of .Asia– Drive awareness, adoption and traffic of
the .Asia
• 3 Categories of Pioneers:– Global Brand Pioneers
• International trademarks
– Community Pioneers• Commonly used words/phrases (i.e. “generic” words)
– Partner Pioneers• .ASIA Accredited Registrars• Service and Technology Providers
Key Benefits
• Allow for inclusion of “typos” in a application package.• Allow brand owners to apply for short-hands, acronyms or variations.• Newer Trademarks that were registered after the Sunrise cut-off dates
(and therefore not eligible for Sunrise) may be applied for through the Pioneer Domains Program.
• During Pioneer Program, DotAsia will be managing the TM verification process with no extra cost. There is of course the marketing commitment deposit of $10,000 is required, however, it will be fully refunded to the successful applicant.
• ALL Pioneer Applications that are declined will be automatically considered for appropriate subsequent phases. No extra fee will be required.
• Provide opportunity for registrant to show commitment to the Asia community and DotAsia is prepared to highlight their site in our outreach and promotion efforts.

DotAsia Members are expected to benefit from:– Participation in the governance of the first global TLD from Asia,
for Asia– Bringing views and perspectives from local or constituent
communities to the policy development and activities of the .ASIA registry
– Participation in the development of the directives of DotAsia, as a not-for-profit organisation, to reinvest its proceeds back into the Asia community
– Involvement in the promotion of the adoption and usage of the Internet in Asia at large
– Collaborative of efforts and sharing of ideas for the development of the community between counterparts and like-minded organisations around Asia
Member Contribution
DotAsia Members are expected to contribute to:– The promotion of the .ASIA domain:
• Assist in raising public awareness of the .ASIA domain in general• Work closely with the .ASIA Registry on activities in the local or constituent
communities• Jointly promote positive usage of domain names including .ASIA and the
ccTLDs in the local or constituent communities
– Participate in meetings and discussions for development of DotAsia
– The nomination of board and advisory council members– Vote during elections and constitutional matters– Help identify or develope community programs suitable for
DotAsia to participate in
