La Consejería de Bienestar Social del Cabildo que dirige Víctor Alonso, a través de los diferentes convenios de colaboración que mantiene con diferentes asocia-ciones e instituciones, pudo atender en 2010 a un total de 2.453 familias de Fuerteventura a través de los dife-rentes programas de ayudas sociales y de emergencia.

El propio Víctor Alonso y la presidenta de Cáritas en Fuerteventura, Auxiliadora Morales, avanzaron en la edición de uno más de estos convenios con la materialización de un texto a partir del cual el Cabildo destinará nuevamente este año 60.000 euros a esta asociación, lo que permitirá continuar con diferentes iniciativas que desarrolla el colectivo como son el Pro-grama Comedor o el Programa de Apoyo a la Familia.

El trabajo de Cáritas en Fuerteventura permitió atender el año pasado a 510 familias, 197 en el co-medor social y otras 313 en el programa de apoyo a la familia. La actual situación económica ha dejado a muchas personas en una preocupante situación de desamparo, y es por eso que a pesar de que en el Cabildo también experimentó este año un importante recorte presupuestario, se va a hacer todo lo posible por mantener la financiación destinada a la atención social. Se acaba de cerrar el convenio con Cáritas

Un destacado número de familias resultaron beneficiarias de las ayudas de emergencia

por el mismo importe que en el pasado ejercicio, y el objetivo es mantener también el mismo nivel de inversión con el resto de colaboradores y tratando de obtener el máximo apoyo de las entidades financie-ras”, indicó el Consejero.

Entre las atenciones que presta Cáritas en su sede de Puerto del Rosario destacan la gestión del come-

dor, aspectos relacionados con la higiene a través del servicio de ducha, o el más reciente servicio de lavandería. Además, la financiación de este convenio permite a la organización contratar al personal que se ocupa de realizar con los usuarios otras labores de integración en materia de asesoramiento laboral, ta-lleres ocupacionales y otras acciones de voluntariado.

Das Amt für Soziales des Cabildo, das von Víctor Alonso geleitet wird, konnte 2010 dank der Koope-rationsabkommen mit verschiedenen Verbänden und Institutionen über verschiedene Programme für Sozialhilfe und für Notfälle insgesamt 2.453 Familien aus Fuerteventura unterstützen.

Víctor Alonso und die Vorsitzende von Cáritas Fuer-teventura, Auxiliadora Morales, haben die Umsetzung eines Textes Fortschritte gemacht, durch, durch den der Cabildo diesem Verband dieses Jahr wieder 60.000 zur Verfügung stellte, um verschiedene Akti-vitäten wie das Mensa-Programm und das Programm zur Unterstützung der Familie fortzusetzen.

Im vergangenen Jahr ermöglichte die Arbeit von Cáritas auf Fuerteventura, 510 Familien zu unterstüt-zen; 197 in einer Mensa für Bedürftige und weitere 313 durch das Programm für die Unterstützung der Familien. Durch die wirtschaftliche Lage gerieten viele Menschen in eine beunruhigende Situation der Hilflosigkeit. Deshalb wird der Cabildo alles Mögliche tun, um die sozial Bedürftigen weiterhin zu unters-tützen, obwohl dieses Jahr die Gelder stark gekürzt wurden. Es wurde gerade ein Abkommen mit Cáritas über den gleichen Betrag wie im vergangenen Jahr abgeschlossen, außerdem wird beabsichtigt, die übri-gen Partner ebenfalls weiterhin zu unterstützen und zu versuchen, die Unterstützung der Finanzinstitute zu bekommen”, erklärte der Beauftragte für Soziales.

Zu den Leistungen, die Cáritas in Puerto del Ro-sario bietet, gehören unter anderem die Mensa und Leistungen, die mit Hygiene zu tun haben, wie zum Beispiel eine Dusche und eine Reinigung. Dieses Abkommen ermöglicht nicht nur die Finanzierung dieser Leistungen, sondern auch die Beschäftigung von Personal, das den Nutzern die Integration durch Berufsberatung, Ausbildungskurse und weitere freiwi-llige Leistungen erleichtert.

Zahlreiche Familien bekamen die Hilfe für Notfälle


Matías López, presidente de la Asociación Majo-rera para la Salud Mental (ASOMASAMEN), y Mario Cabrera, presidente del Cabildo, acompañados del consejero insular de Bienestar Social, Sanidad, Juventud, Participación Ciudadana y Vivienda del Cabildo, Víctor Alonso, firmaron en la Corporación Insular un convenio de colaboración dirigido a dotar de financiación al programa de formación e inserción laboral que desarrolla este colectivo con una decena de sus miembros.

Bajo la denominación de ‘Programa de Integración y Rehabilitación Psicosocial’, esta iniciativa se reedita por segundo año con el objeto de “sostener al personal que se encargará de ofrecer la formación, el aseso-ramiento y la coordinación de las actividades que se incluyen en esta iniciativa, dirigido principalmente a impartir conocimientos en horticultura a una decena de miembros de ASOMASAMEN”, explicó Víctor Alonso.

Mario Cabrera, por su parte, destacó que “además de unos conocimientos concretos dirigidos a facilitar su acceso a un puesto de trabajo en el futuro, este convenio permitirá a los usuarios de la asociación mejorar en otros aspectos individuales como son las habilidades sociales. El Cabildo trata con este tipo de iniciativas de responder a las demandas que nos plantean los diferentes colectivos, puesto que enten-demos que de esta manera contribuimos a mejorar

la salud del asociacionismo y a seguir con nuestra política de apoyo incondicional al colectivo de profe-sionales, familiares y personas que se desenvuelven en el entorno de la salud mental”.

El convenio tiene una dotación de 6.371 euros consignados para el presente ejercicio. Entre los objetivos específicos del convenio se incluyen in-culcar a los destinatarios la adquisición de hábitos y habilidades cognitivas en el trabajo, habilidades sociales para la vida diaria, o conocer las técnicas de búsqueda de trabajo.

de manifiesto los buenos resultados obtenidos en materia de inserción laboral dentro de la asociación, “como demuestra el hecho de que dos destinatarios de este programa concreto se encuentran trabajando en estos momentos. Estamos enormemente satisfe-chos con un programa que motiva enormemente a los usuarios de nuestra asociación”.

El Taller de Horticultura, que desarrolla ASOMASA-MEN dentro del convenio con el Cabildo, se desarrolla entre los meses de junio y diciembre, en horario de mañana, en una gavia situada entre las localidades de Gran Tarajal y Las Playitas, a donde acuden cada día varios usuarios de los centros de día de rehabilita-ción psicosocial de Puerto del Rosario y Gran Tarajal.

Matías López, president of the Majorero Association for Mental Health (ASOMASAMEN), and Mario Cabre-ra, president of the Cabildo, joined by the island’s councillor for Social Well-being, Public Health, Youth, Citizen Participation and Housing of the Cabildo, Víc-tor Alonso, signed a collaboration agreement aimed at financing the programme of training and insertion in the working environment that is developed this association with about ten of their members.

Under the denomination of “Integration and Psycho-social Rehabilitation Programme”, this initiative is launched for the second year running with the objective of “supporting the staff that is in charge of providing training, advice and coordination of the activities that are included in this initiative, aimed mostly at providing knowledge on horticulture to a dozen members of ASOMASAMEN”, explained Víctor Alonso.

Mario Cabrera, on the other hand, pointed out that “in addition to concrete knowledge aimed at helping with access to a job in the future, this agreement will help users of the association to improve in other individual aspects such as social abilities. The Cabildo deals with this type of initiative in order to respond to demands of various associations, as we understand that this is a way to help improve the health of asso-ciations and to continue in our politic of unconditional support to associations of professionals, families and people that are carers in the environment of mental health”.

The agreement comes with a budget of 6.371 Eu-ros for this term. Specific objectives included in this agreement include teaching cognitive habits and abilities in the working environment, social abilities for the daily life or learning job searching techniques.

Results concerning insertion in the working environment

Matías López, president of ASOMASAMEN, poin-ted out the good results obtained concerning the insertion in the working environment within the association, “as demonstrated by the fact that all participants in this programme as currently working. We are extremely satisfied with this programme that has greatly motivated the users of our association”.

The horticulture workshop developed by ASOMA-SAMEN within their agreement with the Cabildo, is developed in the mornings between the months of June and December, in a gavia (type of field) bet-ween Gran Tarajal and Las Playitas, where everyday various users of the psycho-social rehabilitation day centre of Puerto del Rosario and Gran Tarajal come to participate.

Diese Initiative wird im zweiten Jahr unter der Bezei-chnung ‘Programm für Integration und psychosoziale Rehabilitation’, durchgeführt, um „das Personal zu unterstützen, dass für die Ausbildung, die Beratung und die Koordination der Aktivitäten zuständig ist, die im Rahmen dieser Initiative durchgeführt werden und mit denen vor allem beabsichtigt wird, ungefähr zehn Mitgliedern von ASOMASAMEN den Gartenbau näher zu bringen”, erklärte Víctor Alonso.

Mario Cabrera betonte: „Neben konkreten Kennt-nissen, durch die der Zugang zu einem zukünftigen Arbeitsplatz erleichtert wird, wird es den Nutzern

Dieses Abkommen verfügt über insgesamt 6.371 Euro für dieses Haushaltsjahr. Zu den spezifischen Zielen des Abkommens gehört es, den Empfängern kognitive Fähigkeiten bei der Arbeit und soziale Fähi-gkeiten für den Alltag so wie die Techniken für die Arbeitssuche zu vermitteln.

Ergebnisse der Eingliederung in den Arbeitsmarkt

Matías López, der Vorsitzende von ASOMASAMEN, sprach über die guten Ergebnisse, die der Verband im Bereich der Eingliederung in den Arbeitsmarkt erlangte: „Dies beweist die Tatsache, dass die Em-pfänger dieses Programms zurzeit arbeiten. Wir sind

sehr zufrieden mit dem Programm, das die Nutzer unseres Verbandes stark motiviert”.

Der Kurs für Gartenbau, den ASOMASAMEN im Rah-men des Abkommens mit dem Cabildo durchführt, läuft vormittags von Juni bis Dezember in einer Gavia zwis-chen den Orten Gran Tarajal und Las Playitas, wo täglich verschiedene Nutzer der psychosozialen Tageszentren von Puerto del Rosario und Gran Tarajal hinkommen.



Los alumnos del Máster Internacional en Espacios Naturales Protegidos, que se reunieron recientemente en la isla, participando en el Programa de Reintroduc-ción de la Tortuga Boba en Fuerteventura, tomaron parte en la suelta de diez ejemplares de esta especie (Caretta caretta) que tuvo lugar en la Playa de Cofete, paraje referencial del Parque Natural de Jandía.

Estos diez ejemplares de tortuga ‘boba’ pertenecen a la campaña anterior del proyecto de reintroducción. Tras cerca de un año de cuidados en la Guardería de Tortugas de Morro Jable –periodo que les ha permitido alcanzar un peso y tamaño adecuados para sobrevivir en el medio natural-, estos diez ejemplares que fueron trasladados el verano anterior desde Cabo Verde a Fuerteventura conocieron por primera vez el mar.

Students from the International Master in Natural Protected Spaces, who recently visited the island while participating in the Programme of Reintroduction of Loggerhead Turtles in Fuerteventura, participated in the release of ten specimens of this species (Caretta caretta) on the beach of Cofete, in Jandía’s Natural Park.

Those ten Loggerhead turtle specimens are part of the previous campaign of the reintroduction project. After a year of care in the Turtle Nursery in Morro Jable – period that allowed them to reach adequate weight and size to survive in their natural habitat-, those ten specimens that were transported the previous summer from Cape Verde to Fuerteventura discovered the sea for the first time.

Students, from various South American nationali-ties (Chilly, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras) arrived in Fuerteventura on 28th July to carry out practical duties, thanks to an agreement between the Island’s Cabildo and the Fernando González Bernáldez Inter-university Foundation, that has promoted the Master in Natural Protected Spaces for the past decade.

The release of the turtles took place on a training day that started at the Turtle Nursery where a series of debates and chats took place in order to point out the natural values and preservation projects in Fuer-teventura and where students exchanged experiences of management depending of their origins.

La suelta de tortugas se desarrolló en una jornada formativa que comenzó en la Guardería de Tortugas,

donde tuvieron lugar una serie de debates y charlas en las que se pusieron de manifiesto los valores na-turales y los proyectos de conservación de Fuerteven-tura, y en las que se intercambiaron experiencias de gestión con los lugares de origen de los estudiantes.

Esta fundación universitaria fue creada en 1996 por iniciativa de las Universidades Complutense, Au-tónoma de Madrid y Alcalá con el objetivo de difundir y desarrollar el legado del profesor y ecólogo Fernando González Bernáldez, en su triple compromiso con la investigación ecológica, la educación ambiental y la conservación de la naturaleza. Siguiendo estas líneas, surge el Máster en Gestión de Espacios Naturales Pro-tegidos, desarrollándose de forma continuada desde el año 2001, y de forma paralela a una beca de formación para profesionales de países iberoamericanos a través de la Fundación Carolina y la Fundación BBVA.

Die Studenten des internationalen Masters für den Schutz von Naturräumen trafen sich kürzlich auf der Insel, um an einem Programm für die Einwilderung der unechten Karettschildkröte auf Fuerteventura teilzunehmen. Sie nahmen an der Freilassung von zehn Exemplaren dieser Art (Caretta caretta) teil, die am Strand von Cofete, einem Referenzpunkt des Naturparks von Jandía, stattfand.

Diese zehn Exemplare der unechten Karetts-childkröte stammen aus der Kampagne, die dem Projekt für die Wiedereinführung dieser Art voraus ging. Nachdem diese zehn Schildkröten ungefähr ein Jahr lang in einem Schildkrötenkindergarten in Morro Jable gepflegt wurden – diese Zeit brauchen sie, um groß genug zu werden, um in der freien Natur zu überleben - wurden sie im vergangenen Sommer von den Kapverden nach Fuerteventura gebracht und lernten hier das Meer kennen.

Die Studenten aus verschiedenen lateinamerikanis-chen Ländern (Chile, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras) machten seit dem 28. Juli ein Praktikum auf Fuerte-ventura. Dies wurde durch das Abkommen zwischen dem Cabildo der Insel und der Stiftung Fernando González Bernáldez ermöglicht, einer Einrichtung, die seit einem Jahrzehnt den erwähnten Master über geschützte Naturräume fördert.

Außerdem gibt es ein Ausbildungsstipendium für Fachleute aus ibero-amerikanischen Ländern, das über die Stiftung Carolina und die Stiftung BBVA vergeben wird.

The collaboration of beach goers and neighbours of Costa Calma together with the Environment Agents allowed for a young dolphin to be released at sea after it was discovered that same morning on the coast between Los Molinillos and El Granillo, close to Costa Calma. The dolphin seemed fine, and only had a few superficial grazes which it suffered from after hitting the rocks.

The animal measured just about one meter in leng-th and probably came close to the shore after being disorientated and loosing contact with the adults. Beach goers who found it alerted the Environment Agents who also benefited from the assistance of va-rious voluntary workers and a jet-ski to be able to get the dolphin and bring it back at sea where it started swimming again without any problem.

Dank der Zusammenarbeit der Badegäste und der Bürger von Costa Calma sowie zweier Vertreter des Amtes für Umwelt konnte ein kleines Delfinjunges gerettet und im offenen Meer ausgesetzt werden, das an der Küste zwischen Los Molinillos und El Granillo, in der Nähe von Costa Calma, gefunden worden war. Dem Delfin ging es anscheinend gut, er hatte nur einige oberflächliche Verletzungen, die er sich zuge-zogen hatte, als er gegen Felsen geschleudert wurde.

Das Tier war knapp einen Meter lang. Wahrschein-lich schwamm es an die Küste, nachdem es die Orientierung und den Kontakt zu den erwachsenen Delfinen verloren hatte. Die Badegäste, die es gese-hen hatten, benachrichtigten den Umweltdienst, der von Freiwilligen mit einem Wassermotorrad bei der Rettung des Tieres unterstützt wurde.

Como consecuencia de las últimas elecciones municipales y autonómicas se han producido cam-bios en algunas Consejerías del Cabildo y con este motivo hemos comenzado a entrevistar a los nuevos responsables de cada departamento.

Algunos consejeros vienen con la experiencia de haber estado en cargos públicos en legislaturas an-teriores, como es el caso que hoy nos ocupa; Antonio Mesa, que ha comenzado al frente de la Consejería de Deportes.

Antonio Mesa es ya un experto en estar al fren-te de Consejerías tan diferentes, como han sido Infraestructura, Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca, y posteriormente, Economía, Hacienda y Nuevas Tec-nologías, como consecuencia del fallecimiento de Andrés Valerón.Consejero, ¿cómo se presenta esta nueva etapa en Deportes?

Muy prometedora, es un sector al que siempre he estado muy vinculado, pues siempre actué como entrenador neoprofesional de futbol, hasta unos meses antes de presentarme a las elecciones en la legislatura anterior, momento en que terminé mi labor en el Club Antigua, al que habíamos conseguido ascender a tercera división.

No obstante mi profesión es ingeniero técnico agrí-cola y funcionario de la casa en excedencia, porque es incompatible con ser consejero al mismo tiempo.Desconocíamos esa faceta deportista suya, ya que le conocimos cuando estaba en la Consejería de Agricultura, pero entonces este nuevo destino le viene como anillo al dedo...

Sí, porque además como practicante del deporte, se puede decir que he picoteado en muchísimos deportes, tanto individuales como colectivos como el baloncesto, ya que antes de actuar como entrenador de futbol, fui titulado como entrenador de baloncesto.

“Hace diez años era impensable, que se pudieran practicar ciertos deportes en la isla”

tanto de caza como de pesca. También he estado muy cerca de la lucha canaria.

En realidad desde mis 15 a 20 años, en las uni-versidades laborales donde yo estaba, había mucha actividad deportiva, con lo cual, fue algo muy unido a mi crecimiento.En los últimos años y con un gran a poyo de la anterior Consejera, la isla ha experimentado un crecimiento y variedad enorme en los deportes. ¿No le parece?

Sí, hace diez años era casi impensable, que se pudieran practicar ciertos deportes que actualmen-te tenemos en la isla y se ha hecho un gran avance tanto en instalaciones como en apoyo a los diferentes clubs. Pero en los últimos años, nos tocó vivir el gran recorte presupuestario de esta crisis y pasar de estar

en un alto nivel de inversión y crecimiento cada año, a tener que sufrir fuertes restricciones económicas de golpe (hasta de un 30 %). No ha sido fácil. Háblenos de la trayectoria de Antonio Mesa, para que nuestros lectores sepan algo más de la persona que hay tras el actual cargo.

Haciendo memoria creo recordar que comencé como ingeniero en el Cabildo en el año 1981; soy jefe de sección de la granja experimental de Pozo Negro y he estado desde muy joven, ya desde la universi-dad, muy ligado a la política, ya que creo que en el fondo todo es política. Cada decisión u opinión que se transmite no deja de ser política.

Estuve afiliado a Asamblea Majorera toda mi vida y luego pasé a Coalición Canaria. Siendo muy joven estuve de concejal en el Ayuntamiento de Tuineje y luego, a raíz de mi matrimonio, vine a vivir a Puerto del Rosario y tuve que renunciar a mi vida política activa, porque la distancia dificultaba mantener un cargo en Tuineje. No obstante continué ligado, sobre todo en campañas electorales, a órganos del partido.

Al dejar el club de futbol de Antigua en el 2007 y tener más tiempo libre de nuevo, me involucré más en el partido y casi sin darme cuenta ya estaba en el Cabildo, donde he estado los últimos cuatro años. Este es el breve resumen de mi vida. Y puesto que ha vivido siempre dentro de la política y en diferentes aspectos de la misma, ¿cuál es su opinión al respecto?

La política tiene de todo, momentos dulces y sin-sabores. Cuando los proyectos no avanzan por toda la problemática que a veces los rodea, se siente una gran frustración y por el contrario, cuando se ven realizados se vive un momento muy grato, sobre todo cuando ves que la gente valora la labor realizada.

Yo creo en el proyecto de gobierno insular que está ba-sado en los cabildos y la gente empieza a ver los frutos.

Se puede pensar que es demasiada administración porque las islas cambian por completo el modelo es-pañol, pero al ser territorio fragmentando, si cada isla no tiene su propio cabildo que empuje el crecimiento de la isla, las dos islas mayores nos comerían.¿Cuál es su proyecto más inmediato?

Lo primero es hablar con los clubs, las federacio-nes, los ayuntamientos y con el grupo profesional técnicos de la Consejería de Deportes, que tiene un plantilla de gente joven muy bien preparada y, a partir de aquí cara a septiembre y octubre, plantearnos un plan de acción de cara a los próximos cuatro años.

As a consequence of the latest municipal and autonomous elections some changes have occurred in some of the Cabildo’s Councils and we therefore started interviewing the new people in charge of each department.

Some councillors come with the experience of ha-ving had public responsibilities in previous terms, as is the case with today’s interviewee, Antonio Mesa, who has been assigned at the head of the Sports’ Council.

Antonio Mesa is already an expert when in comes to being at the head of different Councils, such as Agriculture, Livestock and Fishing, and before that Economy, Taxes and New Technologies as a conse-quence of the death of Andrés Valerón.Mr. Councillor, how is this new phase in Sports looking like?

It is very promising, it is an area that has always mo-tivated me; I have actually been a near-professional football coach, until a few months before I went as a candidate for the election of the previous term. This is when I ended my duties with Club Antigua, which we had managed to get up to third division.

However, my profession as agricultural technical engineer and executive at the casa en excedencia was not compatible with being a councillor at the same time.We were not aware of this sport’s side of yours, because we already knew you when you were at the Agriculture Council, therefore this new destination suits you perfectly...

Yes, especially considering that as a sports’ enthu-siast, I have tried many sports, both individual and co-llective ones such as basketball, because before acting as football coach I graduated as baskeetball coach.

I have always been a hunter, in my family in Tisca-manita, which is where I come from, we have always lived in the environment of hunting and fishing. I have also been close to Canarian wrestling. In truth, between the age of 15 and 20, in the professional universities where I studied, there was a lot of sports’ activities, which means that sport was closely linked with my upbringing.Over the past few years an with great support from the previous councillor, the island experienced a large growth and extreme variety in sports. you think so?That is correct, ten years ago, it would have been

unthinkable that we could practise some kinds of sports which we currently have on the island and there has been a lot of improvement in the facilities and in the support provided to the different clubs. But over the past few years we have suffered from a big cut down on our budget because of the crisis and going from having great investment and growth levels every year to having to be submitted to strict financial restrictions (up to 30%), was not easy.Tell us about the path of Antonio Mesa, so that our readers can find out more about the person who is now in charge.

If I remember well, I believe I started as an engineer

at the Cabildo in 1981; I am chief of section at Pozo Negro’s experimental farm and from a very young age, I have been very close to politics, as I believe that, all in all, everything is linked with politics. Every decision or opinion that is transmitted is always linked with politics.

I was affiliated to Asamblea Majorera all my life and later I moved on to Coalición Canaria. When I was quite young I was councillor at the Ayuntamiento of Tuineje and later, after getting married, I moved to Puerto del Rosario and I had to give up my active political activity, because the distance was making it difficult to maintain responsibilities in Tuineje. However I remained close to the party’s organisation, especially during election campaigns.

After leaving Antigua’s football club in 2007 and having more spare time again, I got more involved in the party and almost without realising it I was already in the Cabildo, where I have been for the past four years. This is a brief summary of my life.Considering that you have always lived within politics and in various aspects of it, what is your opinion about it?

There is a bit if everything in politics, sweet mo-ments and others tasteless. When projects don’t progress because of problems that sometimes su-rround them, it gets very frustrating and on the other hand, when they are completed, it is very rewarding, especially when people are conscious of the work that was carried out.

I believe in islands’ government projects that are based at the Cabildos and when people start seeing the results.

One could think that there is too much administra-tion because the islands are completely different from the Spanish model, but because they are fragmented territories, if each island doe not have its own Cabil-do that promotes the island’s growth, the two main islands would not have anything left.Which is your most immediate project?

The first is to talk with clubs, federations, ayun-tamientos and with the Sports’ Council’s group of professional technicians, that has a team of very well trained young people. From then on, in September and October, we will start an action plan regarding the next four years.

Nach den letzten Regional- und Kommunalwahlen hat es in einigen Ämtern des Cabildo Änderungen gegeben. Deshalb haben wir begonnen, die neuen Ve-rantwortlichen von jedem Departement zu interviewen.

Einige von diesen hatten in den vergangenen Legis-laturperioden auch schon öffentliche Ämter, zu diesen gehört unser heutiger Gesprächspartner; Antonio Mesa, der nun das Amt für Sport leitet.

Antonio Mesa kennt sich schon gut mit der Leitung von öffentlichen Ämtern aus, denn er hat schon vers-chiedene Ämter geleitet: die Ämter für Infrastrukturen, Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht und Fischerei, Wirtschaft, Finanzwesen und nach dem Tod von Andrés Valerón das für neue Technologien.Wie sehen Sie diesen neuen Abschnitt als Beauf-tragter für Sport?

Es sieht sehr erfolgversprechend aus; ich war dem Sport immer sehr verbunden und war als Fußballtrai-ner tätig. Ich habe ein paar Monate bevor ich für die Wahlen in der vorherigen Legislaturperiode kandidier-te, mit dieser Tätigkeit aufgehört. Damals hörte ich mit meiner Arbeit im Club Antigua auf, mit dem wir es geschafft hatten, in die dritte Division aufzusteigen.

Mein Beruf ist jedoch landwirtschaftlich-technischer Ingenieur; ich bin beurlaubter Funktionär des Hauses, da diese Tätigkeit unvereinbar mit meinem Amt ist.Wir wussten nichts von Ihrer Vergangenheit als Sportler, denn wir haben Sie erst kennengelernt, als Sie schon Beauftragter für Landwirtschaft waren. Ihre neue Tätigkeit scheint also wirklich das Richtige für Sie zu sein...

Ja, denn ich habe nicht nur Sport getrieben, man kann sagen, dass ich zahlreiche Sportarten auspro-biert habe. Ich habe sowohl Einzelsport als auch Mannschaftssport wie Basketball gemacht. Bevor ich als Fußballtrainer arbeitete, hatte ich eine Ausbildung als Basketballtrainer gemacht.

Ich war immer Jäger. Ich bin auch Tiscamanita, und meine Familie hat immer mit der Jagd und mit der Fischerei zu tun gehabt. Auch dem kanarischen Kampf stand ich immer sehr nah.

Ich habe sehr viel Sport im Alter von 15 bis 20 getrieben. An den Unis, die ich besuchte, gab es viel Sport. So kam es, dass meine Entwicklung mit dem Sport verbunden war.

In den letzten Jahren ist der Sportsektor auf der Insel sehr gewachsen, und es sind mehr Spor-tarten dazu gekommen. Dazu hat die vorherige Beauftragte für Sport viel beigetragen. Sehen Sie das auch so?

Ja, vor zehn Jahren wäre es undenkbar gewesen, dass man bestimmte Sportarten auf der Insel treiben kann. Heute ist es dagegen möglich. Außerdem haben wir große Fortschritte im Bereich der Installationen und der Förderung der Clubs gemacht. Allerdings hatten wir in den vergangenen Jahren unter der Krise und den damit verbundenen Kürzungen zu leiden. Wir waren jedes Jahr stark gewachsen und verfügten über starke Investitionen. Dann kamen plötzlich die Kürzungen (bis zu 30 %). Das war nicht leicht.

Erzählen Sie uns bitte etwas über den Werdegang von Antonio Mesa, damit unsere Leser etwas mehr über die Person erfahren, die dieses Amt ausübt.

Ich möchte daran erinnern, dass ich 1981 als Ingenieur im Cabildo anfing. Ich bin Leiter des expe-rimentellen Bauernhofes von Pozo Negro. Schon als Student habe ich viel mit der Politik zu tun gehabt, denn ich meine, dass im Grunde alles politisch ist.

Ich war mein ganzes Leben lang Mitglied von Asamblea Majorera, dann ging ich zu Coalición Ca-naria. Als ich noch sehr jung war, wurde ich Stadtrat in Tuineje. Dann heiratete ich und zog nach Puerto del Rosario. Ich musste meine politische Tätigkeit aufgeben, denn Tuineje war zu weit entfernt. Trotzdem engagierte ich mich weiterhin in meiner Partei, vor allem im Wahlkampf.

Als ich im Jahr 2007 den Fußballclub von Antigua verließ, hatte ich mehr Freizeit und engagierte mich stärker in meiner Partei. Dabei habe ich kaum daran gedacht, dass ich schon im Cabildo war, wo ich die letzten vier Jahre gearbeitet habe. Dies ist eine kurze Zusammenfassung meines Lebens. Sie haben ihr ganzes Leben lang mit den verschie-denen Aspekten der Politik zu tun gehabt. Welche Meinung haben Sie dazu?

In der Politik gibt es alles, schöne Momente und Ärger. Wenn Projekte wegen der Probleme, mit denen wir zu tun haben, keine Fortschritte machen, ist es frustrierend. Wenn diese dann realisiert werden, ist es sehr befriedigend; vor allem, wenn die Leute mit den Ergebnissen zufrieden sind.

Ich glaube an das Projekt der Inselregierung durch die Cabildos, und die Leute sehen die Erfolge.

Man kann denken, dass es zu viel Bürokratie gibt, denn die Inseln verändern das spanische Modell grundlegend. Aber wenn nicht jede Insel ihren eige-nen Cabildo hätte, der ihr Wachstum voran treibt, würden die beiden größeren Inseln den Ton angeben.Was ist Ihr nächstes Projekt?

Zuerst möchte ich mit den Clubs, den Föderationen, den Gemeinden und den Fachleuten des Amtes für Sport sprechen. Das Amt für Sport verfügt über eine Belegschaft von jungen, gut ausgebildeten Leuten. Ab September oder Oktober werden wir einen Plan für die nächsten vier Jahre machen.

La subdirectora del hotel, Pilar Jorge Enríquez, junto con la chef Amelia Valladares y el maître Alfre-do Mediaceja nos han recibido amablemente, para mostrarnos el lugar, al tiempo que nos ofrecen una de sus recetas más demandadas por los clientes.

Amelia Balladares ha puesto su toque personal especial sobre un plato tan tradicional canario como es el cabrito.

¿Cómo surgió la idea de personalizar un plato tan tradicional?

Estudié hostelería en Huesca y luego trabajé en diferentes lugares de la península, lo que me ha permitido adquirir una amplia variedad gastronómica, con diferentes tipos de cocina tanto española como internacional y poner mi nota en un plato tan canario, era algo que me atraía.Aprovechando esta ocasión queremos saber más y preguntamos a Pilar sobre el menú del restaurante.

Es nuevo, hemos realizado desde el mes de mayo, un menú distinto dedicado a la estación veraniega. En el hemos innovado tanto en carnes como en pescados. Es un menú muy mediterráneo, diseñado especialmente para el turismo español. Y cuando la estación acabe y comience el turismo internacional, ¿renovarán el menú de nuevo?

Sí, por supuesto, la adaptamos a lo largo del año en función de los diferentes clientes que vamos a recibir.

Es muy interesante que nuestros lectores sepan que los menús se renuevan varias veces a lo largo del año, ya que esto es un aliciente más para visitar el restaurante con cierta frecuencia.

Además Amelia nos cuenta que tienen una suge-rencia o dos diarias diferentes, para amenizar aún más la carta.

Y Alfredo nos ofrece un vino de su selección que marida especialmente con este delicioso plato.¿Cuál nos recomienda?

Para acompañar un plato canario, un vino también canario, concretamente un Villanorte de Tenerife. Es un vino muy asentado, seco en boca, muy adecuado con las carnes rojas, como en el caso del cabrito que tiene un sabor fuerte. Además armoniza muy bien incluso con las aves y los quesos.A la hora de aconsejar vinos a sus clientes, ¿se decanta especialmente por los vinos canarios?

Este menú, pensado para el turismo español, se suele acompañar de vinos canarios que son los que suelen querer conocer y probar nuestros clientes habituales. Hay quienes ya traen referencia de alguno de estos vinos, sobre todo los blancos de Lanzarote, pero en la mayoría de los casos suele ser una grata sorpresa degustar alguna nueva sugerencia.Los turistas extranjeros, que suelen visitarlos el resto del año, ¿se suelen interesar por los vinos locales?

Conocen más los Rivera de Duero y Rioja, pero igualmente quedan encantados al conocer los cana-rios, que suelen pedir que les recomendemos.Volviendo a Pilar, ¿cómo surgió la idea de usar el bonito patio del Hotel, como restaurante?

Era una pena no aprovechar esta atmosfera de paz que produce el lugar. Pero es preciso recordar que San Andrew’s sólo tiene servicio de restaurante en las noches, aprovechando el frescor del atardecer, puesto que las mesas están al aire libre dentro del

que trae el aire y la música, completan un ambiente tan especial e intimo. En la temporada de invierno las mesas regresan al interior.¿Puede ser visitado por personas que nos sean clientes del Hotel?

¡Claro!, eso es lo que deseamos, que nos conozcan y que sepan que son bienvenidos aunque no se alojen en nuestros hoteles.

Además muchas de las personas que ya han sido clientes deciden celebrar aquí sus eventos importan-tes, tales como bodas, comuniones, etc., y es que el marco es incomparable.

Cabrito majorero al ajo tostadoIngredientes para 4 personas:

- 1 kg. de cabrito - ½ l. de aceite de oliva- 2 cabezas de ajo- Sal y pimienta.

Elaboración:Trocear el cabrito y salpimentar. Poner a calentar

el aceite de oliva para, posteriormente, añadir una cabeza de ajo cortada a la mitad para que así el aceite vaya tomando sabor.

Añadir entonces el cabrito troceado e ir friendo lentamente.

Una vez que haya tomado color, añadir el resto de los ajos laminados. Para acompañar el plato, nada mejor que unas papas arrugadas con mojo.

St. Andrews Restaurant is located in the prestigious patio of the Elba Golf Palace Hotel, where one can enjoy delicious cuisine, in an incomparable setting and a charming atmosphere where the soft music of a piano gives a relaxing touch.

We were warmly welcomed by the sub-director of the hotel, Pilar Jorge Enríquez, together with the chef Amelia Balladares and the maître d’hôtel Alfredo Mediaceja, who showed us around and gave us one of their most demanded recipes.

Amelia Valladares has put her special personal touch on one of the most traditional Canarian dishes, the “cabrito” (kid goat).How did you get the idea of personalising such a traditional dish?

I studied hotel management in Huesca and later I worked in different places in Mainland Spain, which allowed me to acquire an ample gastronomic variety, with different types of cooking both Spanish and International and to put my personal touch on such a Canarian dish was something I really wanted to do.We would like to take this opportunity to find out more from Pilar about the menu of the restaurant.

It is new; we changed the menu in May which is dedicated to the summer season. We have innovated with both meat and fish dishes. This is a very Medi-terranean menu, especially designed for Spanish tourism.And when the season finishes and international tourism starts again, will you renew the menu?

Yes, of course, we adapt it all year long according to different clients we are going to receive.

It is very interesting for our readers to know that menus are changed various times during the year, as it is another incentive to visit the restaurant every so often.Furthermore Amelia tells us that she has one or two daily different suggestions in order to make the menu even more interesting. And Alfredo offers a wine from his selection that goes particularly well with this dish, what would you recommend?

In order to accompany a Canarian dish, I recom-mend a Canarian wine also, concretely a Villanorte from Tenerife. This is a mature wine, dry in the mouth, very adequate with red meats, such as the “cabrito” that has a strong flavour. It also goes very well with poultry and cheeses.When it comes to advising wines to clients, do you particularly decant Canarian wines?

For this menu, which has been designed mostly for Spanish tourism, we tend to advise Canarian wines which our regular clients tend to want to discover and taste. Some already have knowledge about some wines, mainly white wines from Lanzarote, but in most cases it tends to be a grate surprise to taste a new suggestion.Are foreign tourists who tend to visit the restaurant during the rest of the year interested in local wines?

They know more about the Rivera de Duero and

Rioja, but they are also glad to discover Canarian wines, which they ask us to recommend to them.Coming back to Pilar, how did you get the idea of using the lovely hotel patio for the restaurant?

It was a shame not to take advantage of the pea-ceful atmosphere that emanates from this place. But it is important to remember that the St. Andrews restaurant is only serving at night time in order to take advantage of the freshness of the evenings, given that the tables are outdoors within the hotel patio.

- 1kg. of cabrito (kid)- ½ l. of olive oil- 2 garlic cloves- Salt and pepper

Preparation:Cut the Cabrito in pieces and add salt and pepper.

Heat up the olive oil and later, add a garlic clove cut in half so that the olive oil takes in the favour.

Add the Cabrito pieces and fry slowly.Once it has taken a nice colour, add the rest of the

garlic cut into slices. It is best served with wrinkled potatoes and mojo (spicy Canarian sauce).

Of course! This is what we want, for people to know about us and that they are welcome even if they are not staying at the Hotel.

Furthermore, many of our clients end up deciding to celebrate here their important events such as weddings, communions, etc. because of the incomparable setting.

Fuerteventura-Zicklein mit geröstetem KnoblauchZutaten für 4 Personen:

- 1 kg. Zicklein - ½ l. Olivenöl- 2 Knoblauchzehen- Salz und Pfeffer.

Zubereitung:Das Zicklein in Stücke schneide. Olivenöl erhitzen,

eine in der Mitte aufgeschnittene Knoblauchzehe da-zugeben, damit das Öl Geschmack bekommt.

Dann das in Stücke geschnittene Zicklein dazugeben und langsam braten.

Wenn es braun ist, den übrigen Knoblauch dazuge-ben. Die beste Beilage dazu sind kanarische Runze-lkartoffeln mit Mojo-Sauce.

Ich habe in Huesca gelernt und habe dann in vers-chiedenen Orten Spaniens gearbeitet, wodurch ich ein vielseitiges gastronomisches Angebot der spanis-chen und der internationalen Küche kennenlernte. Ich hatte Lust, einem traditionellen kanarischen Gericht eine persönliche Note zu geben.Wir nutzen die Gelegenheit, um uns bei Pilar über die Speisekarte des Restaurants zu erkundigen.

Wir haben sie im Mai neu gemacht. Es ist eine besondere Speisekarte für die Sommersaison. Wir haben sowohl die Fleisch- als auch die Fischgerichte erneuert. Zu einem kanarischen Gericht gibt es einen kanaris-chen Wein aus Villanorte de Tenerife. Der Wein fühlt sich im Mund trocken an und passt sehr gut zu rotem Fleisch wie dem Zicklein, das einen starken Geschmack hat. Er passt jedoch auch gut zu Geflügel und Käse.

El Club AMISTAD fue fundado por personas que tienen, desde hace décadas, relación con las Islas Canarias, en especial con Fuerteventura. Algunas de las cuales tienen propiedades en Canarias.

La filosofía del Club es presentar las Islas Cana-rias a los alemanes, fuera de las “vacaciones todo incluido”. Al mismo tiempo favorece la presentación de Alemania a los habitantes de Canarias. AMISTAD es una plataforma para conocerse. Por intermedio de AMISTAD pueden establecer y mantenerse contactos entre personas de ambas nacionalidades.

El Club facilita el encuentro de contactos en Ale-mania, sobre todo cuando hay barreras del idioma a superar. En la parte alemana de la página web de AMISTAD el visitante puede poner su oferta. Durante los meses de verano se incrementa el tiempo de ocio y el abanico de actividades al aire libre es más amplio, de ahí que la visión al igual que la piel, se encuentre expuesta a una mayor incidencia solar. Por este motivo y para evitar lesiones oculares durante el periodo estival, la Consejería de Sanidad del Gobierno de Canarias recomienda utilizar siempre gafas de sol homologadas por la CE y en la medida de lo posible, no exponerse directamente bajo el sol entre las 10 y las 14 horas, franja horaria en la que se registra la tasa más elevada de radiación ultravioleta.

La excesiva exposición solar por rayos UV puede provocar fotofobia aguda y con el tiempo, favorecer la aparición de patologías oculares más graves en la córnea y la retina, como pinguéculas, pterigion (denominado ‘pernal’ y originados por una exposi-ción crónica al sol), las cataratas o la degeneración macular asociada a la edad.

Según explica el Dr. Rodrigo Abreu, facultativo es-pecialista del servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital Universitario Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria (HUNSC), “es necesario tomar medidas adecuadas para mantener una adecuada higiene ocular durante el verano, como permanecer a la sombra o evitar la radiación solar en-tre las 10 y las 14 horas del día, hacer uso de gafas de sol certificadas y complementarse con el uso de vesti-menta adecuada, pues llevar sombreros o gorras junto con las gafas de sol, puede reducir hasta en un 95% la incidencia directa de rayos UV en nuestros ojos”.

La utilización de gafas de sol también protegerá a los ojos de otras molestias propias del verano como es la sequedad ocular, muy frecuente en esta época debido al sol, el calor y la brisa, condiciones climato-lógicas que junto a la luz directa, pueden empeorar la calidad de la visión.

Prescindir de las lentillas de contacto en piscinas y playas

El uso de lentillas de contacto está muy extendido entre la población con algún problema de visión,

pero en verano no es recomendable su utilización a la hora de tomar baños en playas o piscinas, puesto que estos artículos no están diseñados para estas actividades acuáticas.

La mejor opción, según los oftalmólogos, es prescindir de ellas porque así se reduce la posibilidad de padecer conjuntivitis irritativas o infecciosas, causantes de moles-tias como ojos rojos, escozor o lagrimeo, y que podrían llegar a provocar infecciones severas del globo ocular. En este sentido, los especialistas recomiendan usar gafas de natación y aclararse en la ducha una vez se haya salido de la piscina, prestando especial atención a los niños.

Man sollte deshalb im Schatten bleiben und zwischen 10 und 14 Uhr die Sonnenstrahlung meiden, zertifizierte Sonnenbrillen und angemessene Kleidung verwenden. Außer den Sonnen-brillen sollte man auch Sonnenhüte oder Schirmmützen tragen, wodurch man den Einfall der UV-Strahlung in unsere Augen um bis zu 95% reduzieren kann”.

Mit Sonnenbrillen schützt man die Augen auch vor anderen Beschwerden wie Trockenheit, was in dieser Jahreszeit aufgrund der Sonne, der Hitze und des Seewindes häufig ist; diese klimatologischen Bedingungen führen zusammen mit dem Licht zu einer Verschlechterung des Sehvermögens.

Beim Kauf einer Sonnenbrille muss man darauf achten, dass der Käufer gut damit sieht und dass die

Dies wird nur durch Sonnenbrillen gewährleistet, die von der EU anerkannt sind und über einen angemessenen Sonnenfilter verfügen. „Die Farbe des Augenglases hat nichts mit dem Schutz vor ultravioletten Strahlen zu tun, denn die Absorbierung dieser Strahlen ist vom Material der Brillengläser abhängig,” erklärt Dr. Rodrigo Abreu, ein Spezialist der Abteilung für Augenheilkunde des Universitätskrankenhauses Ntra. Im Schwimmbad und am Strand sollte man auf Kontaktlinsen verzichten

Unter Leuten, die nicht gut sehen, sind Kontaktlinsen weit verbreitet, aber im Sommer ist es nicht ratsam, diese im Schwimmbad oder am Strand beim Schwim-men zu verwenden, da sie nicht dafür vorgesehen sind.

Nach Meinung der Augenärzte ist es das Beste, darauf zu verzichten, weil man sonst leicht eine Bindehautentzündung bekommt, die zu roten Augen, Jucken oder Tränenfluss führt und zu ernsten Infe-ktionen des Auges führen kann. Daher empfehlen die Experten Schwimmbrillen zu tragen und die Augen nach dem Schwimmen in der Dusche zu spülen. Vor allem bei Kindern sollte man darauf achten.

Excessive UV ray exposition can provoke photo-pho-bia and with time, it will bring severe ocular diseases on the cornea and the retina, such as pingueculas, pterygium (brought on by chronic exposition to the sun), cataract or macular degeneration associated with ageing.

As explained by Dr. Rodrigo Abreu, specialist of the services of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital of Ntra. Sra. De Candelaria (HUNSC), “it is necessary to take adequate measures to maintain a good ocular hygiene during the summer, such as staying in the shade or avoiding solar rays between 10 am and 2 pm, use certified sunglasses as well as adequate clothing such as hat, caps, which together with sun-glasses can reduce up to 95% the direct incidence of UV rays on our eyes”.

The use if contact lenses is very common amongst the population with vision deficiency, but during sum-mer time, it is not recommended to use them when we go swimming at the beach or in swimming pools, as they are not designed for such aquatic activities.

The best option, according to ophthalmologists is to avoid wearing them which then reduces the risk of irritable or infected conjunctivitis, which causes problems such as red, watery eyes, and that can also provoke severe infections of the eye ball. Therefore, specialists recommend to use swimming goggles and rinse with a fresh water shower after coming out of a swimming pool, taking special care with children.

El Gobierno canario, a través de su empresa pú-blica Gestión del Medio Rural de Canarias (GMR), ha puesto en marcha una campaña de promoción de los productos agroalimentarios de las islas con Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) en aero-puertos canarios y peninsulares, dirigida a mejorar la comercialización de estas producciones y fomentar su salida hacia nuevos mercados.

Esta iniciativa se enmarca en un proyecto de la Red Rural Nacional que permitirá la exposición y degus-tación de productos de las Islas Baleares, Canarias y Cataluña. Está cofinanciada por el Fondo Europeo Agrícola de Desarrollo Rural (FEADER), el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Medio Rural y Marino (MARM) y las comunidades participantes.

El objetivo de esta acción, que se inició el pasado mes de agosto y se desarrollará durante un mes en los aeropuertos de Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Gran Canaria, y Tenerife Sur, es promover e informar a los turistas de las excelencias de las producciones de calidad diferenciada de las regiones colaborado-ras, entre las que destacan el Queso DOP Palmero, Queso DOP Majorero, Queso DOP Flor de Guía, Queso de Media Flor de Guía y Queso de Guía, y las Papas Antiguas de Canarias, que cuentan ya con una protec-ción nacional transitoria a la espera de que la Unión Europea declare la protección europea definitiva.

Con esta finalidad se ha previsto la instalación de un stand de unos 150 metros de superficie situado

Se ha habilitado también un área para la realiza-ción de catas, degustaciones, show-cooking y talleres sobre los productos de cada una de las comunidades autónomas participantes y un espacio infantil donde se organizarán actividades dirigidas a dar a conocer estos alimentos.

El elevado volumen de pasajeros de las instalacio-nes aeroportuarias en las que se lleva a cabo esta campaña y la disponibilidad de tiempo de los viajeros una vez superado el correspondiente control de se-guridad, permitirá asimismo recopilar datos a través de encuestas para analizar posibles salidas de estas producciones hacia nuevos nichos de mercado en otras zonas de la geografía española y fuera de nues-tras fronteras y que permitirán elaborar un estudio que servirá como base para animar a los productores a elaborar planes de marketing y comercialización hacia mercados no tradicionales.

Diese Initiative ist Teil eines Projekts des ländlichen Netzes Spanien für die Ausstellung und Degusta-tion von Produkten der Balearen, Kanaren und aus Katalonien. Mit dieser Aktion, die im August begann und einen Monat lang an den Flughäfen von Palma de Ma-llorca, Barcelona, Gran Canaria und Teneriffa Süd stattfindet, wird beabsichtigt, die Touristen über die hervorragenden Qualitätsprodukte der beteiligten Regionen zu informieren. Unter diesen müssen vor allem die Käsesorten U.g. Palmero, Queso Majorero U.g., Flor de Guía U.g., Media Flor de Guía U.g. und Guía U.g. sowie die alten Kartoffeln (Papas Antiguas) der Kanaren erwähnt werden, die in Spanien schon geschützt werden, während auf den endgültigen Schutz der EU gewartet wird.

Zu diesem Zweck wird beabsichtigt, einen Stand auf einer ungefähr 150 Meter großen Fläche in der Einstiegshalle des internationalen Flughafens Tene-riffa Süd und in der Abflughalle für Flüge innerhalb Spaniens und in EU-Länder des Flughafens von Gran Canaria einzurichten. Dort werden Foto-Ausstellungen und Videos gezeigt. Außerdem wird Werbematerial für diese Produkte auf Spanisch, Englisch und Katalan verteilt. Zu diesen Produkten gehören unter anderem die Sobrasada und die Ensaimada aus Mallorca, der Käse aus Mahón (Menorca), die Dauerwurst aus VIC IGP, die Haselnüsse aus Reus U.g. und die Käse DOP Urgell und Cerdaña.

The Canarian Government, through its Canarian Ru-ral Environment Public Management Business (GMR), has launched a promotion campaign for the Islands´ food products that carry the Protected Denomination of Origin (DOP) Label in airports in the Canaries and on Mainland, which aims at commercialising those products and promoting them on new markets.

This initiative is part of a project of the Rural National Network that will allow for the exhibition and sampling of products from the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and Cataluña. The high volume of passengers in the airports where this campaign is being initiated and the time availability of passengers after going through security checks, allows for surveys to be carried out in order to analyse the possibilities of those products on new markets in other Spanish and Foreign areas that will be used to compile a study that can be used to motiva-te producers to elaborate marketing and commercia-lisation plans towards other less traditional markets.

de las especialidades durante un periodo de dos años. Los estudios tienen carácter gratuito y se contempla- para los alumnos que lo soliciten- la posibilidad de op-tar a un determinado número de plazas de internado. Los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad igualmente de solicitar becas con las que pueden hacer frente a los gastos de alojamiento y manutención.

La formación teórica sirve de base para la amplia carga práctica que se les brinda a los alumnos de estos estudios, que cuenta para su desarrollo con las instalaciones y medios propios de las escuelas y de una amplia relación de entidades públicas y empresas privadas a través de diferentes convenios de colaboración.

Las Escuelas de Capacitación Agraria de Canarias ofrecen a los estudiantes la posibilidad de completar y ampliar su formación en otros centros y empresas privadas tanto en el territorio nacional como en otros países. En los últimos años los alumnos canarios han realizado prácticas en centros de enseñanza agraria de Austria, Francia, Holanda, y en otras comunidades autónomas españolas, con las que se han formaliza-do programas de intercambio.

Elevado nivel educativoLa Escuela de Capacitación Agraria de Tacoronte,

con más de 40 años de actividad, está situada en la Finca San José y cuenta con una amplia explotación de 15 hectáreas de extensión. Para el próximo curso ofrece enseñanzas de grado medio que contem-plan las especialidades de Jardinería y Floristería, Producción Agroecológica, y Trabajos Forestales y de Conservación del Medio Natural, y en los ciclos superiores las de Gestión y Organización de Empre-sas Agropecuarias, Gestión y Organización de los Recursos Naturales y Paisajísticos, y Vitinicultura.

La Escuela de Capacitación Agraria de los Llanos,

se fundó en 1986 y puede acoger a 120 alumnos. Ofrece las especialidades en grado medio de Traba-jos Forestales y de Conservación del Medio Natural, Jardinería y Floristería, y Producción Agroecológica, y en el grado superior las de Gestión y Organización de los Recursos Naturales.

La Escuela de Arucas, en funcionamiento desde 1988, oferta los estudios de grado medio de Gestión y Organización de Empresas Agropecuarias, y Produc-ción Agroecológica, de grado superior, con capacidad entre ambos para otros 120 alumnos.

y Aguas del Gobierno de Canarias que dirige, Juan Ramón Hernández, ofrece a los profesionales del sector, tanto a los que están en el ejercicio de esa actividad como a los que se encuentran en fase de incorporación a la misma, una amplia variedad de cursos que se imparten en las Escuelas de Capacita-ción y cuyos horarios se adecuan a la disponibilidad de los asistentes.

La programación para el presente año contempla la celebración, en los próximos meses, de cursos de Manipulador de Compost, Manipulador de Productos Fitosanitarios a nivel básico, Producción Integrada en Agricultura, Prevención de Riesgos Laborales en Agricultura, Gestión de la Empresa Agraria, Asocia-cionismo, Comercialización y Legislación Agraria, y Propagación de Plantas Ornamentales y Forestales.

Los interesados en acceder a esta oferta formativa han de formalizar su solicitud en la Escuela de Capaci-tación donde se vaya a impartir el curso seleccionado, con anterioridad a las fechas asignadas para su ce-lebración. Los estudios son gratuitos y se contempla la posibilidad de que los alumnos puedan acogerse a régimen de estancia interno y manutención.


Las Escuelas de Capacitación Agraria de Canarias, con sede en Tacoronte (Tenerife), Arucas (Gran Cana-ria) y Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma), ofertan 600 plazas para el próximo curso lectivo. Hasta el 14 de septiembre permanecerá abierto el plazo extraor-dinario para formalizar la matrícula en estudios de formación profesional en estos centros educativos, pertenecientes a la Consejería de Agricultura, Gana-dería, Pesca y Aguas del Gobierno de Canarias.

De las plazas ofertadas aproximadamente la mitad están destinadas a nuevos alumnos. A ello hay que añadir los cursos de formación continua que se im-parten a lo largo de todo el año, los cuales cuentan con capacidad para 1.600 alumnos y permiten la actualización de conocimientos de los profesionales del sector primario de las islas.

Para acceder a las plazas convocadas en las en-señanzas regladas que se imparten en las Escuelas de Capacitación, los aspirantes han de disponer del Graduado en Educación Secundaria o del título de Técnico Auxiliar (FP-1) en cualquier rama, o bien haber superado el segundo curso de BUP, del primer ciclo experimental o el correspondiente a las ense-ñanzas de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos (tercer curso del Plan de 1963).

Las Escuelas de Capacitación Agraria han facultado a lo largo de sus casi 50 años de andadura a miles de profesionales, que en la mayoría de los casos se han incorporado a la actividad agraria. Desde hace unos años estos centros se han consolidado como referentes en la formación profesional que exige y demanda el sector, al regularse los estudios que en ellas se imparten mediante la Ley Orgánica General del Sistema Educativo (LOGSE) y de la Ley Orgánica de Educación (LOE).

Die Schulen für landwirtschaftliche Ausbildung der Kanaren, die ihre Standorte in Tacoronte (Teneriffa), Arucas (Gran Canaria) und Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma) haben, bieten 600 Ausbildungsplätze für das nächste Schuljahr an. Die außergewöhnliche Anmeldefrist für die Berufsbildung in diesen Zentren, die zum Amt für Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht, Fischerei und Gewässer der Regierung der Kanaren gehören, läuft bis zum 14. September.

Ungefähr die Hälfte der angebotenen Plätze ist für neue Schüler vorgesehen. Dazu kommen die Fort-bildungskurse, die das ganze Jahr über angeboten werden, eine Kapazität für 1.600 Schüler haben und Fachleuten des Primärsektors der Inseln die Möglichkeit bieten, ihr Wissen auf den neusten Stand zu bringen.

Um sich für die Kurse der reglementierten Ausbil-dung an diesen Schulen anzumelden, müssen die Interessierten über die mittlere Reife oder den tech-nischen Titel FP-1 in irgendeinem Bereich verfügen oder den zweiten Kurs der Oberstufe (BUP) , den ers-ten experimentellen Zyklus oder den entsprechenden in Zyklus in Kunst oder künstlerischen Berufen (dritter Kurs des Plans von 1963) abgeschlossen haben.

Die Schulen für landwirtschaftliche Ausbildung haben in diesen fast 50 Jahren tausende von Fa-chleuten ausgebildet, von denen die Mehrheit in der Landwirtschaft tätig wurde. In den letzten Jahren haben sich diese Zentren zu Referenzpunkten für die Berufsausbildung entwickelt, die der Sektor benötigt, da der Unterricht an diesen Schulen vom allgemei-nen Gesetzt des Bildungssystems (LOGSE) und dem Gesetz über Bildung (LOE) reguliert wurde.

Der Unterricht in allen Spezialisierungen, die zum Angebot der Schule gehören, dauert zwei Jahre. Die Ausbildung ist kostenlos, und es gibt für die Schüler – die dies beantragen - die Möglichkeit, in einer Re-sidenz für Schüler zu wohnen. Die Schüler können außerdem Stipendien beantragen, um die Kosten für Unterkunft und Verpflegung abzudecken.

Die Schulen für landwirtschaftliche Ausbildung der Kanaren bieten ihren Schülern die Möglichkeit, ihre Ausbildung in anderen Zentren und in privaten Unternehmen in Spanien und im Ausland zu ver-vollständigen. In den vergangenen Jahren haben kanarische Studenten Praktika in Ausbildungszentren in Österreich, Frankreich, Holland und in anderen autonomen Regionen Spaniens gemacht, mit denen Austauschprogramme abgeschlossen worden sind.

Eine bessere AusbildungDie Schule für landwirtschaftliche Ausbildung von

Tacoronte, die seit mehr als 40 Jahren existiert und sich auf der Finca San José befindet, verfügt über ein 15 Hektar großes Gelände. Im nächsten Schuljahr wird Mittelstufenunterricht als Ergänzung zu den Spezialisierungen in Gärtnerei, Blumenarbeit, ökolo-

gischer Landwirtschaftsproduktion, forstwirtschaftli-chen Arbeiten und Erhalt der Umwelt angeboten. In den höheren Zyklen werden folgende Spezialisierun-gen angeboten: Verwaltung und Organisation von landwirtschaftlichen Unternehmen, Verwaltung und Organisation der natürlichen Ressourcen und der Landschaft sowie Weinbau.

Die Schule für landwirtschaftliche Ausbildung von Los Llanos wurde 1986 gegründet und hat eine Kapa-zität für 120 Schüler. Sie bietet Spezialisierungen in der Basisberufsausbildung im Bereich der Forstarbei-ten und Erhaltung der Umwelt, Gartenbau und sowie in landwirtschaftliche Produktion an; in der höheren Berufsausbildung dagegen wird Verwaltung und Organisation der natürlichen Ressourcen angeboten.

Die Schule von Arucas, die seit 1988 in Betrieb ist, bietet eine Basisberufsausbildung in Verwaltung und Organisation von landwirtschaftlichen Unternehmen und eine höhere Berufsausbildung für ökologische Produktion in der Landwirtschaft an. Die Schule hat eine Kapazität für insgesamt 120 Schüler.

Ständige WeiterbildungDas Amt für Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht, Fischerei und

Gewässer der Regierung der Kanaren, das von Juan Ra-món Hernández geleitet wird, bietet Fachleuten aus dem Sektor, die diese Tätigkeit schon ausüben oder noch eine Stelle suchen, zahlreiche Kurse an. Diese finden in den Schulen für Ausbildung statt; der Stundenplan richtet sich nach den Bedürfnissen der Teilnehmer.

Außerdem sieht der diesjährige Lehrplan vor, dass in den nächsten Monaten Kurse für Kompostbearbei-ter, Bearbeiter von phytosanitären Produkten, Inte-grierte Produktion in der Landwirtschaft, Vorbeugung von Berufsrisiken in der Landwirtschaft, Verwaltung von Landwirtschaftsbetrieben, Vereinswesen, Ver-marktung und landwirtschaftliche Gesetzgebung und Fortpflanzung von Zierpflanzen und Waldpflanzen stattfinden.

Wer daran interessiert ist, an diesem Unterricht teilzunehmen, muss vor dem Beginn des Unterri-chts einen Antrag bei der Schule stellen, an der der gewünschte Kurs stattfindet. Der Unterricht ist kostenlos, und für einige Schüler besteht die Mögli-chkeit, in einer Residenz zu wohnen, in der sie auch verpflegt werden.



The Agricultural Training Schools of the Canaries, with premisses in Tacoronte (Tenerife), Arucas (Gran Canaria) and Los Llanos de Aridane (La Palma) are offering 600 spaces for the next term. The registration period ends on 14th September for those interested in taking those professional training courses in the centres that are linked to the Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Water Council of the Canarian Govern-ment.

Out of the spaces on offer, around half of them are destined to new students; those come in addition to the continuous training courses that are provided all year round, which represent 1600 students and allow for knowledge updates for professionals of the primary sector on the islands. In order to gain access to those courses taking place in the Training Schools, candidates must possess a Degreed of Secondary Education or the Auxiliary Technical Title (FP-1) in any subject, or they must have qualified for the second BUP course of the first experimental cycle or the course corresponding to Art studies or Artistic Occupations (third course of the 1963 Plan).

For almost 50 years, Agricultural Training Schools have been providing training to thousands of pro-fessionals, who in most cases have then taken on an agricultural occupation. For the past few years those centres have become references concerning professional training that is required in the sector and the training provided is regulated by the the General Organic Law of the Education System (LOGSE) and the Organic Education Law (LOE).

All the courses that are included in the educational schedule of each school are provided for each specia-lity over a two year period. Courses are free of charge and students who are interested can opt for spaces on a boarding school basis. Students also have the opportunity to request grants in order to cover their accommodation and maintenance expenses.

The theory training serves as a base for the wider practical training which is provided to students to prepare them to set up their installations and a wide understanding of public and private entities through various collaboration agreements.

La sesión formativa tuvo lugar el pasado mes de julio, en las instalaciones de la mencionada empresa, en Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

El contenido del encuentro, elaborado por personal técnico de GMR Canarias con la colaboración del Instituto Canario de Igualdad, abordó los aspectos

Curso sobre nuevas tecnologías destinado a las mujeres rurales y urbanas de las islas

básicos de la informática y computación, así como la evolución y funcionamiento de Internet y de la Ad-ministración Electrónica, y las posibilidades, ventajas y desventajas de las redes sociales.

Esta iniciativa se enmarcó en el proyecto “Red de Mujeres Rurales y Urbanas: un espacio de Desarrollo Económico y Social” desarrollado por nueves comuni-dades autónomas, entre ellas Canarias, y cofinancia-do por el Fondo Europeo Agrícola de Desarrollo Rural (FEADER), el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y Medio Rural y Marino (MARM), y las regiones participantes

-dentro del Programa de la Red Rural Nacional-.El programa, en el que participaron catorce aso-

ciaciones de mujeres del archipiélago, tuvo como objetivo potenciar la participación de la mujer como agente de desarrollo socioeconómico y fomentar la igualdad de oportunidades entre hombres y mujeres. Para ello se ofrecieron actividades destinadas a constituir redes de confianza y consolidar canales de comunicación entre mujeres con intereses comunes, fomentando el acceso y uso de nuevas tecnologías en zonas rurales y el intercambio de experiencias y buenas prácticas, y reforzando el papel de la mujer en la sociedad.

Canarias, Andalucía, Castilla La Mancha, Navarra, Baleares, Castilla y León, Cataluña, Extremadura y Valencia participaron en este proyecto, en el marco de la cual se pusieron en marcha acciones como la creación de un portal web de mujeres emprendedo-ras rurales que cuenta con múltiples espacios, entre ellos un calendario de eventos, foro temático, aparta-do de formación online y una sección de prestación de servicios y venta directa, dirigida a la promoción de empresas de mujeres.

Otra de las actuaciones que se contemplaron fue la creación de un espacio virtual que ayude a difundir la faceta empresarial de las mujeres y mejorar la compe-titividad de las entidades participantes, potenciando la cooperación y el trabajo en red y aprovechando las posibilidades que, en este sentido, ofrecen las nuevas tecnologías.

Este foro cuenta con un buscador, un área de asesoramiento en línea gratuito sobre aspectos fundamentales para la formación y gestión de una empresa, y un espacio de intercambio de información útil para las emprendedoras, relativa a legislación, foros de debate, y participación en ferias y jornadas, entre otras actividades.



El pasado jueves 28 de julio se presentaba en el Colegio Oficial de Veterinarios de Las Palmas, el nue-vo sistema de identificación para caballos, burros y otros équidos de crianza y renta de las Islas.

El nuevo sistema de identificación cumple con la normativa de la Comunidad Europea y está basado en un pasaporte individual al que se corresponde un microchip implantado en el cuello del animal. Este sistema, está adaptado a las nuevas tecnologías integrando la utilización de una base de datos infor-máticos, y es infinitamente más eficaz optimizando el sistema de trazabilidad y el control del censo canario de estos animales, con el objetivo de mejorar sus condiciones sanitarias y su bienestar, previniendo el maltrato o abandono de estos animales.

Los caballos sólo se identificarán en explotaciones inscritas en el Registro de Explotaciones Ganaderas (REGA) de la Consejería, bien como explotaciones de producción, o bien como explotaciones especiales del tipo ocio. Para realizar la identificación de los équidos no registrados sus propietarios deberán ponerse en contacto con un veterinario colegiado acreditado.

El sistema de identificación de equinos está basado en tres elementos fundamentales:

Un documento de identificación permanente y único – pasaporte - un transpondedor inyectable o microchip de identificación electrónica vinculado al pasaporte y al animal para garantizar su correcta identificación y una base de datos informatizada en la que se integran los datos de los animales y sus propietarios.

La implantación del microchip se realiza entre la nuca y la cruz en medio del cuello en la zona del liga-mento nucal. Este microchip o transpondedor trans-mite un código numérico cuando se activa mediante el lector electrónico. Dicho código debe reflejarse en el pasaporte así como en la ficha, del animal y su propietario, en la base de datos. Su implantación, siendo un acto clínico, puede realizarse únicamente por parte de un veterinario colegiado. El mecanismo contiene todos los datos del animal y además, sirve para localizarlo con facilidad, en caso de pérdida.

Los équidos de Canarias serán identificados a través de microchip y pasaporte

por la Consejería de Agricultura, Ganadería, Pesca y Aguas del Gobierno de Canarias. Cada transpondedor previamente a su implantación debe ser grabado en la base de datos de códigos de identificación elec-trónica animal.

El pasaporte es un documento que se identifica mediante un número permanente único’ de 15 dígitos que figura en todas sus páginas y reúne in-formación sobre cada animal, la base de datos y el país donde se registró el animal por primera vez. A través del pasaporte el caballo, burro o asno tendrá un solo numero de documento registrado en la base de datos. Este número de pasaporte le acompañará durante toda su vida constituyendo una referencia permanente aunque el animal cambie de nombre, propietario o instalaciones.

Los pasaportes ‘duplicados’ y ‘sustitutivos’ ven-drán también con el número permanente único pre-impreso en todas las hojas.

Para la gestión de la base de datos informáticos se empleará el registro de animales de compañía Zoo-can del Consejo de Colegios Veterinarios de Canarias, adaptada a la recogida de datos de identificación de equinos según los estándares europeos, en perma-nente actualización y contacto con los registros del Ejecutivo autonómico.

Los animales destinados al consumo tendrán que tener obligatoriamente el pasaporte para que la venta de su carne sea autorizada, además de la información sobre cualquier tratamiento médico veterinario a los que los animales hayan sido sometidos. De esta for-ma el sistema de identificación constituye un factor más de control en la cadena alimentaria.

Los documentos de identificación de aquellos animales que son inscritos en libros genealógicos, équidos registrados, seguirán siendo proporcionados por las asociaciones oficialmente reconocidas para

la gestión de libros genealógicos de la razas.Los équidos deben estar identificados antes del

31 de diciembre del año de nacimiento del animal o en un plazo de seis meses a partir de la fecha de nacimiento, pudiéndose elegir la fecha más tardía. En cualquier caso antes de que abandonen la explo-tación de nacimiento.

La identificación correcta es además una acción preventiva que garantiza el bienestar del animal fomentando el cuidado responsable y el no aban-dono, algo que desgraciadamente se ha empezado a ver en algunos entornos geográficos cercanos, ya que algunos ganaderos que en épocas de bonanza económica compraron caballos como artículo de lujo y hoy en día con la crisis no pueden afrontar el gasto que conlleva su mantenimiento.

En muchos casos estos animales se quedan abandonados en sus propias cuadras y corrales en mal estado de salud, pobres condiciones higiénico sanitarias, sufriendo desnutrición y heridas asocia-das con el hacinamiento. Lamentablemente incluso se han dado casos en lo que los caballos no tienen documentación y en cuanto sus propietarios ven que no pueden alimentarlos ni venderlos simplemente lo dejan morir al no poder ser identificados.

La no identificación de los équidos podrá llevar aparejada sanciones económicas que dependiendo del número de animales que el titular tenga sin iden-tificar variaran entre los 600 a los 60.000 euros. Si el titular tiene menos del 10% de sus animales sin identificar será una infracción leve sancionada con una multa de 600 a 3.000 euros o apercibimiento (posibilidad de identificar al animal, si no ha habido intencionalidad y si el titular no ha sido sancionado en los 2 años anteriores) si es más del 10% de 3.000 a 60.000 considerándose infracción grave. Según la Ley 8/2003 de 24 de abril de sanidad Animal.



Am Donnerstag den 28. Juli wurde im Kolleg der Tierärzte von Las Palmas das neue System für die Identifizierung von Pferden, Eseln und anderen Equi-den auf den kanarischen Inseln präsentiert.

Das neue Identifizierungssystem erfüllt die Vors-chriften der EU und basiert auf einem individuellen Pass, der in Form eines Microchips im Hals des Tieres eingepflanzt wird. Dieses System ist an die neuen Technologien angepasst, integriert die Verwendung einer Computer-Datenbank und ist wesentlich effi-zienter, da es das System der Rückverfolgbarkeit und die Kontrolle der statistischen Erhebung auf den Kanaren optimiert. Damit wird beabsichtigt, die sanitären Bedingungen und das Wohlbefinden der Tiere zu verbessern und gegen Misshandlung und Aussetzung vorzubeugen.

Die Pferde werden nur in Landwirtschaftsbetrieben oder besonderen Freizeit-Farmen identifiziert, die im Register für Viehzuchtbetriebe (REGA) des Amtes für Landwirtschaft eingetragen sind. Für die Iden-tifizierung von nicht registrierten Equiden müssen sich die Besitzer mit einem zugelassenen Tierarzt in Verbindung setzen.

Dieses System für die Identifizierung von Equiden besteht aus drei Teilen: Einem dauerhaften Doku-ment für die Identifizierung – Pass – , einem implan-tierbaren, mit dem Pass verbundenen Tansponder oder Microchip für die elektronische Identifizierung, um die korrekte Identifizierung des Tiers zu gewährlei-ten, und einer Computer-Datenbank, in die die Daten der Tiere und ihrer Besitzer aufgenommen werden.

Der Microchip wird in der Mitte des Halses zwis-chen Nacken und Kreuz implantiert. Der Microchip überträgt einen Zahlencode, wenn er mit einem elektronischen Lesegerät aktiviert wird. Dieser Code muss im Pass und in der Kartei der Datenbank des Tieres und des Besitzers angegeben werden. Da seine Implantierung eine klinische Angelegenheit ist, kann sie nur von einem zugelassenen Tierarzt ausgeführt

werden. Der Mechanismus enthält sämtliche Daten des Tieres , so kann man dieses leicht wiederfinden, falls es verloren gehen sollte.

Diese Microchips haben 23 Ziffern; sie unterschei-den sich von denen, die für die Identifizierung von Haustieren verwendet werden und haben eine spezi-fische Codierung, die vom Amt für Landwirtschaft, Viehzucht, Fischerei und Wasser der Regierung der Kanaren zugewiesen wird. Jeder Transponder muss vor der Implantation in die Datenbank der Codes für die elektronische Identifizierung von Tieren aufge-nommen werden.

Die Equiden der Kanaren werden mit Mikrochip und Pass identifiziert

Der Pass ist ein Dokument, der durch seine un-veränderliche, aus 15 Ziffern bestehende Nummer erkannt wird, die auf allen Seiten des Dokuments steht. Dort werden sämtliche Daten des Tieres sowie die Datenbank und das Land, wo das Tier zum ersten Mal registriert wurde angegeben. Mit dem Pass be-kommen Pferde und Esel eine einzige Dokumenten-nummer, die in der Datenbank registriert wird. Diese Passnummer wird das Tier sein Leben lang begleiten, auch wenn sich der Name, der Besitzer oder der Stall

des Tieres ändern sollten. Auch Duplikate und Ersatz dieses Dokuments wer-

den die gleiche dauerhafte Nummer enthalten, die auf allen Seiten steht.

Für die Verwaltung der informatischen Datenbank wird das Register für Haustiere des Unternehmens Zoocan des Tierärztekollegs der Kanaren verwendet, das für die Aufnahme von Daten für die Identifizierung von Equiden nach europäischem Standard geeignet ist. Es wird ständig aktualisiert und ist mit dem Regis-ter der autonomen Regierung verbunden.

Die Tiere, die für den Verbrauch bestimmt sind,

brauchen auf jeden Fall einen Pass, damit ihr Fleisch zum Verkauf zugelassen wird. Außerdem müssen alle tierärztlichen Behandlungen der Tiere angege-ben werden. Dieses Identifikationssystem trägt zur Sicherheit der Lebensmittel bei.

Die Dokumente von Tieren mit registriertem Stammbaum werden weiterhin von den offiziell anerkannten Verbänden ausgestellt, die die Stamm-bäume von reinrassigen Tieren ausstellen.

Die Equiden müssen vor dem 31. Dezember ihres Geburtsjahres oder innerhalb von sechs Monaten ab ihrer Geburt identifiziert werden, wobei das spätere Datum gewählt werden kann. Sie müssen auf jeden Fall identifiziert werden, bevor sie den Stall verlassen, in dem sie geboren wurden.

Die korrekte Identifizierung ist außerdem eine vor-beugende Maßnahme, die das Wohlbefinden des Tie-res gewährleistet, da sie dazu beiträgt, dass das Tier angemessen behandelt und im Stich gelassen wird. In einigen Gegenden wurde leider festgestellt, dass sich selbst überlassen wurden, da einige Viehzüchter als die Wirtschaft gut lief, Pferde als Luxusartikel kauften und es sich nun nicht mehr leisten können, diese zu halten.

Ein vielen Fällen werden die Tiere in ihren eigenen Ställen und Höfen sich selbst überlassen. Sie sind ni-cht gesund und leiden unter schlechten hygienischen Bedingungen, Unterernährung und Verletzungen. Leider haben die Pferde in einigen Fällen noch nicht einmal Dokumente; wenn ihre Besitzer sie weder ernähren noch verkaufen können, lassen diese einfach sterben. Wer seine Tiere nicht identifizieren lässt, kann eine Strafe von 600 bis 60.000 Euro be-kommen. Wenn der Besitzer weniger als 10% seiner Tiere nicht identifizieren lässt, wird dies als leichter Verstoß betrachtet und mit einem Bußgeld von 600 bis 3.000 Euro bestraft oder bekommt eine Verwar-nung (Möglichkeit, das Tier zu identifizieren, wenn das Vergehen keine Absicht war, und der Besitzer in den letzten beiden Jahren nicht bestraft wurde). Wenn es mehr als 10 % der Tiere sind, wird es als schwerer Verstoß betrachtet und mit einem Bußgeld von 3.000 bis 60.000 Euro betraft. Dies geschieht nach Gesetz 8/2003 vom 24. April über Gesundheit von Tieren.



The new identification system for horses, donkeys and other equidae breeds of the Canary Islands was presented on 28th July at the Official Veterinary De-partment in Las Palmas. The new identification sys-tem complied with the EC norms and is based on an individual passport that corresponds to a microchip implanted in each animal. This system is adapted to new technologies by integrating the use of a computer database and is definitely more efficient by optimi-sing the traceability system and Canarian census control of those animals. The objective is to improve the health and safety and well-being conditions and preventing abuse or abandon of those animals.

Horses will only be registered on exploitations that are registered on the Council’s Registry of Livestock Exploitations (REGA), as well as production exploita-tions, or special leisure type of exploitations. In order to carry out the identification of the animals that are not registered their owners will have to contact a registered veterinarian.

The identification system is based on three funda-mental elements:

A permanent and unique identification document – passport – an identification injectable transponder or electronic identification microchip linked with the passport and the animal in order to guarantee the correct identification and a computer database where all the data about the animals and their owners is contained.

The implantation of the microchip is carried out between the back of the head and the middle of the neck. This microchip or transponder transmits a numerical code when activated by an electronic rea-der. This code must show in the passport as well as in the data contained in the database about the animal and its owner. Its implantation can only be carried out by a registered veterinarian. The mechanism contains all the data about the animal and can also be used to trace it easily if it is lost.

Animals destined to be consumed will have a com-pulsory passport so that their meat can be sold. It will carry information concerning any medical treatment that the animal may have received. This way the system of identification is another control factor in the food chain.

Identification documents for animals registered in genealogical registers will continue being issued by the associations officially recognised for the mana-

gement of breeds’ genealogical registers.Horses must be registered before 31st December

of their birth year or within 6 months from the date of birth, owners being able to choose the latest date.

The correct identification is also a preventive ac-tion that guarantees the well-being of the animal, promotes responsible care and prevents abandons, something that unfortunately has started being wit-nessed in the area. This is caused by the fact that livestock farmers purchased horses as luxury items during periods of wealth and nowadays because of the crisis can no longer afford the costs of their main-tenance. In many cases, those animals are abando-ned in their pens and corrals in bad state of health, poor hygiene conditions, suffering from malnutrition and injuries linked to overcrowding. Unfortunately in some cases where horses did not have documents and when owners saw that they could not feed them or sell them they simply left them to die as they could not be identified.

Not identifying equidae breeds will be sanctioned financially depending on the number of unidentified animal that the owner has. The fines will range bet-ween 600 and 60.000 Euros. If the owner has less than 10% of his animals unidentified, the fines will range between 600 and 3.000 Euros or a warning (possibility of identifying the animal, if it was unin-tentional and if the owner has not been fined within the past two years). If more than 10% of the animals are unidentified, the fines range between 3.000 and 60.000 Euros and this is considered as a severe infraction according to the law 8/2003 of 24th April of animal health and safety.

La Concejalía de Desarrollo Local informa-rá, a las empresas que se adhieran a este proyecto sobre las subvenciones o cursos de formación para la mejora de su organización.

La bolsa de empleo que se activará durante el mes de septiembre aspira a ser un canal abierto en el que participen empresarios y particulares y que contribu-ya a la dinamización económica del municipio.

Gemeinde die Schaffung einer gemeinsamen Bes-chäftigungsbörse vorgeschlagen, um Arbeitslosen die Eingliederung in den Arbeitsmarkt zu erleichtern.

Die Unternehmen, die sich schon mit der Abteilung für örtliche Entwicklung in Verbindung gesetzt und ihr Interesse bekundet haben, an der Beschäftigungs-börse teilzunehmen, können Gesuche und Anzeigen veröffentlichen. Das Amt für örtliche Entwicklung wird die Unternehmen, die an dem Projekt teilnehmen, über die Subventionen und Ausbildungskurse infor-mieren, durch die sie ihre Organisation verbessern können.

Die Beschäftigungsbörse wird im September in Betrieb gesetzt und beabsichtigt, ein offener Kanal für Unternehmer und Privatleute zu sein und an der wirtschaftlichen Dynamisierung der Gemeinde teilzunehmen.

The Ayuntamiento has proposed to the employers of the municipality to create an employment agency together in order to help unemployed people access the job market.

Some businesses that have already been in touch with the Local Development service showing their interest in participating in the employment agency will be able to make the job offers and demands their need. The Local Development Councillor will inform the businesses that have joined the project about the grants or training courses available to improve their organisation.

La película está basada en la novela “Zabibah and the King”, en la que se narra las andanzas de un dic-tador capaz de entregar su vida con tal de impedir que la democracia llegue a su país. Sacha Baron Cohen estará acompañado en el reparto por el oscarizado Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) y Anna Faris (Scary Movie).

Der Film basiert auf dem Roman “Zabibah and the King”, der vom Schicksal eines Diktators handelt, der sein Leben opfert, um zu verhindern, dass sein Land demokratisch wird. Sacha Baron Cohen wird zusam-men mit dem Oscar-Gewinner Ben Kingsley (Gandhi) und Anna Faris (Scary Movie) drehen.

Der größte Teil des Films wird in den USA gedreht, aber es wurde beschlossen, einige Szenen in Spanien zu drehen, und zwar in Sevilla und auf Fuerteventura.

La alcaldesa, Claudina Morales, recibió esta el pa-sado mes de agosto a las nuevas estrellas de la vela de Corralejo: al subcampeón de la primera prueba del circuito nacional de kiteboarding en la categoría

infantil, Javier Jiménez, y a los subcampeones de Canarias de Optimist por equipos.

Javier Jiménez, de 10 años, se proclamó subcam-peón, en la categoría infantil, de la primera prueba del circuito nacional de kiteboarding, que se celebró en la playa de Famara, en la isla de Lanzarote.

La Alcaldesa también recibió, al Club de Regatas Pujamen, de Corralejo, que se clasificó para el Cam-peonato de España de Optimist por equipos tras pro-clamarse subcampeón de Canarias en la competición celebrada recientemente en la bahía de Corralejo.

En otra visita, recibió también a Eric Terrien, sexto en la modalidad de Sup del Campeonato del Mundo de Paddleboard celebrado en Hawái. Terrien realizó el recorrido en un tiempo inferior a las 5 horas (4h 56m 48s).

Der 10-jährige Javier Jiménez wurde Vizemeister der Kinderkategorie des ersten Wettkampfes der nationalen Kiteboarding-Meisterschaft, die am Strand Famara auf der Insel Lanzarote stattfand.

In August, the Mayoress, Claudina Morales, met the new sailing stars of Corralejo: the runner-up of the first stage of the national kiteboarding circuit in the children’s category, Javier Jiménez, and the Canaries’ runner-up for Optimist by teams.

Javier Jiménez, aged 10 years old, was declared runner-up in the children’s category, for the first stage of the national kiteboarding circuit that took place in Famara on the island of Lanzarote.

The Mayoress also met the Club de regattas Pu-jamen of Corralejo that has been selected for the Spanish Championship of Optimist by teams after becoming runners-up for the Canaries in the compe-tition that took place recently in the bay of Corralejo.

In another visit, she also met with Eric Terrien, who ranked sixth in the Sup modality in the World Cham-pionship of Paddleboard that took place in Hawaii. Mr. Terrien also managed to complete the race in less than 5 hours (4h 56m 48s).

Los artistas y artesanos del Mercado del Paseo de las Artes cuentan con un punto de venta permanente en Corralejo tras la inauguración de “FuerteArte”, una tienda situada en el callejón anexo a la Plaza Félix Estévez.

Gracias a una iniciativa del Colectivo de Artesanos “Kalima”, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento, se ha estrenado este espacio de venta al público.

El Paseo de las Artes es un mercado que impulsa el colectivo de artesanos en colaboración con el área de Desarrollo Local del Ayuntamiento.

El mercado del Paseo de las Artes se encuentra ubicado en la calle La Iglesia, en Corralejo, y abre todos los viernes de 16:00 a 22:00 horas, en invierno, y de 17:00 a 23:00 horas en verano.

Centenares de visitantes procedentes de diversos puntos de la isla se dieron cita en el Mercadillo cele-brado al aire libre el jueves, 11 de agosto, en el casco

histórico. La afluencia de turistas y de vecinos de otras localidades fue constante desde bien entrada la mañana hasta las ocho de la tarde.

El crepúsculo fue amenizado con la actuación de la parranda “Arcoíris”, que recorrió los diversos puntos de venta al son de voces, timples y guitarras que in-terpretaron variadas piezas del tradicional repertorio musical majorero.

El acto revistió gran importancia ya que permitió que, diversos profesionales, dieran a conocer sus artes en el manejo del calado, el tallado en madera, el cristal o la cestería. No menos relevancia ofreció el hecho de que los agricultores tuvieran la oportunidad de ofrecer sus productos frescos.

Abends gab es ein Konzert der Gruppe “Arcoíris”, mit Gesang, Timple und Gitarrenmusik. Diese Gruppe spielte mehrere traditionelle Lieder aus Fuerteven-tura.

Dieser Markt war sehr wichtig, denn mehrere Fachleute konnten dort ihre Kenntnisse der Lochs-tickerei, der Holzschnitzerei, der Glasarbeit und der Korbflechterei zeigen. Ebenso wichtig ist die Tatsa-che, dass die Landwirte die Möglichkeit hatten, dort frische Produkte anzubieten.

island to the Market organised outdoors on Thursday 11th August within the historical town. The affluence of tourists and neighbours from other towns was constant from the morning until eight o’clock at night.

The twilight was animated with the act of “Arcoíris” street band that went from shop to shop to the sound of voices, timples (small Canarian guitars) and gui-tars that interpreted various pieces of the Majorero traditional musical repertoire.

The event was of great importance as it permitted for various professionals to exhibit their arts of calado (embroidery), woodwork, crystal or basket making. Obwohl das Amt erst seit wenigen Tagen in Betrieb ist, haben die Berater schon fast fünfzig Arbeitslose beraten, und jeder fünfte dieser Arbeitssuchenden hat nach einer fachlichen Beratung eine Stelle ge-funden.

Die Arbeitslosen können folgende Leistungen in Anspruch nehmen: persönliche Gespräche, Aktua-lisierung der Daten des Arbeitsgesuches, berufliche Orientierung, Techniken der Arbeitssuche und das Angebot an Ausbildungskursen.

installed a new taxi rank within the Island’s Bus Station which will be maintained in service together with the other one already in use along the building.

The new taxi rank responds to a demand of the taxi drivers themselves and users of the Station as it makes it easier to get access to it and therefore to the Island’s bus service.

La Consejería de Agricultura, Ganadería, Pesca y Aguas del Gobierno de Canarias ha querido aprove-char la gran participación del festival Cine+Food y su vínculo con la gastronomía para promocionar entre los asistentes, los vinos y quesos isleños y dar a conocer tanto a los canarios como a los turistas que acudan al Parque de Santa Catalina, lugar donde se celebrará este encuentro, los productos de nuestra tierra.

Con este motivo, se ha acordó con la organización de este evento cinematográfico y gastronómico, a través de la empresa pública Gestión del Medio Rural de Canarias (GMR), ofrecer a los cinéfilos y gentes de buen comer, cinco tipos de vino y tres variedades de quesos que harán de principal reclamo de la comida

canaria para los cientos de personas que se espera, acudan a ver las 16 películas seleccionadas para esta segunda edición, y a probar los platos tradicionales de 25 países.

Durante los cuatro días que duró el festival Cine+Food, estuvieron presentes Coaldea, queso mezcla de Gran Canaria, El Tofio, queso de cabra de la isla de Lanzarote y Benijos, queso del Valle de La Orotava (Tenerife). Entre los caldos que pudiron de-gustarse se encuentraban Frontón Blanco Semiseco, Viñatigo Blanco Seco, Monje Tradicional, Las Tiraja-nas Tinto Tradicional o el Tajinaste Tinto Tradicional.

Cine+Food, iniciativa patrocinada por el Ayunta-miento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, el Vicerrec-torado de Cultura de la ULPGC y la Consejería de

Agricultura del Gobierno canario, tiene como objetivo ampliar la oferta cultural en verano; reforzar la activi-dad económica del sector de restauración en la zona Puerto-Canteras; y apoyar un polo turístico no sólo para la ciudad sino también para la Isla.

El 84% de la población de las Islas Canarias no bebe la cantidad de líquido necesaria para estar correctamente hidratada. Tomar variedad de bebidas a lo largo del día y optar por bebidas con buen sabor como las infusiones frías o los refrescos son consejos que ayudan a beber lo necesario y, de hecho, así lo afirma el 84% de los canarios.

Pese a los perjudiciales efectos que el calor y la falta de líquidos puede tener en la salud, un 21% de los canarios reconoce que pasa largos periodos en la playa sin beber y un 31% sólo bebe cuando tiene sed, señal que aparece cuando ya existe cierto grado de deshidratación.

El Observatorio de Hidratación y Salud (OHS) con el respaldo del Ministerio de Sanidad, Política Social e Igualdad (MSPSI), la Organización Médica Colegial de España (OMC) y la Fundación Quirón ha puesto en marcha, por quinto año, su campaña de conciencia-ción ¡No te deshidrates! bajo el lema ¡Hay mil formas divertidas de hidratarse!

Durante los meses de calor la exposición a tempe-raturas ambientales elevadas puede provocar pérdi-da de agua y electrolitos en el organismo, dolor de cabeza, mareos, vómitos, fatiga, etc. Pero no sólo el calor aumenta las probabilidades de deshidratación. También se producen múltiples factores de riesgo: las gastroenteritis, las diarreas, los viajes largos en coche o en avión o el uso excesivo del aire acondicionado -que reseca el ambiente-, entre otras cosas, son causas frecuentes de deshidratación, aunque pocas veces tenidas en cuenta.

Los canarios, poco concienciados sobre la importancia de la hidratación

Según los datos del “Estudio Hábitos de Hidrata-ción”, elaborado por el OHS, el 84% de la población de las Islas Canarias bebe menos de 3 litros de líquido al día y, además, el 31% reconoce que sólo bebe cuando tiene sed, una señal que ya aparece cuando existe cierto grado de deshidratación.

Otras conductas de riesgo habituales son realizar ejercicio físico intenso en las horas centrales del día, pasar mucho tiempo al sol y no aumentar la ingesta de líquidos en situaciones de riesgo como en verano y con altas temperaturas -el 42% declara que le resultaría difícil beber lo necesario en estas circunstancias-. De hecho, el 32% de los canarios pasa mucho tiempo en la playa sin beber. Teniendo en cuenta todo lo anterior, no es de extrañar que el 21% afirme haber sufrido deshidrataciones, princi-palmente en verano.

Además, los canarios creen muchos falsos mitos en torno a la hidratación. El 43% piensa que no pasa nada por no beber de manera frecuente, el 40% que no hace falta beber si no se tiene sed y el 57% que sólo se pierden líquidos en verano. Sin embargo, lo cierto es que hay que mantener un óptimo nivel de hidratación a lo largo de todo el día bebiendo de ma-nera frecuente variedad de bebidas porque el cuerpo pierde líquidos constantemente, no sólo a través de la orina, el sudor o las heces, sino también al realizar los procesos fisiológicos básicos como la respiración, la digestión o la termorregulación.

Frente al riesgo que supone el calor y la falta de

líquidos, los expertos del OHS recuerdan la impor-tancia de ingerir diversas bebidas como refrescos, infusiones frías, gazpachos, etc. además de agua. De hecho, al preguntar por estas pautas saludables, el 84% de los canarios reconoce que consumir dis-tintas bebidas y con buen sabor, les facilita beber lo necesario.

Con el objetivo de luchar contra esta escasa con-cienciación y de informar de la necesidad de estar correctamente hidratados, la campaña ¡No te des-hidrates! difunde hábitos saludables de hidratación en verano bajo el lema ¡Hay mil formas divertidas de hidratarse! por toda España.

La hidratación no tiene por qué ser aburridaConscientes de que, en muchas ocasiones, la

población tiene dificultades para llegar a tomar las cantidades de líquido recomendadas por los especialistas, la campaña ¡No te deshidrates! hace especial énfasis en el hecho de que el sabor de las diferentes bebidas disponibles ayuda a hidratarse. Y es que, además del agua, el consumo de infusiones, refrescos, gazpachos o granizados hace más fácil y divertido beber.

Diversos estudios demuestran que incluir diversi-dad de bebidas incrementa en un 50% la ingesta de líquidos. El sabor de las diferentes bebidas también hace más fácil y apetecible beber lo necesario, y puede incrementar la cantidad que se bebe hasta en un 32%.

Consejos para evitar la deshidrataciónIngerir entre 2 y 2,5 litros de líquido al día de ma-

nera continua y en pequeñas cantidades.Si se realizan actividades y esfuerzos físicos nota-

bles, conviene aumentar estas cantidades y vigilar las pérdidas excesivas de líquido a través del sudor.

Ingerir alimentos ricos en agua (frutas, verduras y hortalizas).

Evitar el consumo de bebidas alcohólicas, tienen

efecto diurético y deshidratan.En épocas de calor intenso, además de aumentar

el consumo de líquidos, mantenerse en un ambiente fresco y ventilado.

Vigilar la adecuada ingesta de líquido de los más vulnerables a la deshidratación (ancianos, deportis-tas, trabajadores al aire libre, etc.)

Verdades y mentiras sobre la hidratación“Sólo me puedo hidratar con agua”

¡FALSO! Existen muchos alimentos y bebidas con alto contenido hídrico que, además, tienen azúcares y que contribuyen a una buena hidratación como las frutas, los zumos o los refrescos. Además, tienen un valor añadido ya que aportan energía, esencial en una época como el verano en la que el nivel de actividad se incrementa.

84% of the population in the Canary Islands does not drink the necessary quantity of liquids to be pro-perly hydrated. Drinking a variety of drinks during the day and opting for nice drinks such as cold infusions or soft drinks are some of the tips that help drink the necessary amount, as 84% of Canarians confirm.

Despite the harmful effects that the heat and lack of liquids can have on the health, 21% of Canarians admit that they spend long periods on the beach without drinking and 31% only drink when they feel thirsty, which is the sign that appears when we are already dehydrated.

The Observatory of Hydration and Health (OHS), with the back up of the Health, Social Politics and Equality Ministry, the Spanish Medical Colleges Or-ganization (Organización Médical Colegial or OMC) and the Quirón Foundation have initiated, for the fifth year running, a campaign of awareness called “¡No te deshidrates!” (Don’t get dehydrated) with the slogan “There are thousands of fun ways to get hydrated!”

During the warm months, the exposition to high temperatures can cause losses of water and electro-lytes for the organism, headaches, nausea, vomiting, tiredness, etc. But the heat does not only increase the probabilities of dehydration. There are also multiple risk factors: gastroenteritis, diarrhea, long trips in car or plane or the excessive use of air-conditioning – that dries up the air – amongst other factors, are frequent causes of dehydration, although they are hardly taken into account.

Canarians are not aware of the importance of hydration

According to data from the “Hydration Habits Study” created by the OHS, 84% of the population of the Canary Islands drink less that 3 litres of liquids per day, furthermore, 31% admit that they only drink when they feel thirsty, which is a sign that only appears when dehydration has already started.

Other usual risk factors are to have an intense physical activity during midday, spending a lot of time in the sun and not increasing the amount of liquid in-take in situations of risk such as the summer, in high temperatures. 42% declare that it would be difficult to drink the necessary amount in those situations. In fact, 32% of Canarians spend a lot of time at the beach without drinking. Taking into account the abo-ve, it is not surprising that 21% of them admit to have suffered from dehydration, especially in summer.

Furthermore, Canarians believe in false myths as far as dehydration is concerned. 43% of them believe that nothing happens if you don’t drink regularly, 40% thinks that they don’t need to drink unless they feel thirsty and 57% that they only loose liquids in summer. However, it is undoubtedly primordial to maintain an optimum level of hydration all day long by drinking frequently various types of drinks because the body looses liquids constantly, not only with urine, sweat or faeces but also through basic body functions such as breathing, digestion or thermoregulation.

Considering the risk that the heat and lack of li-quid represent, the experts of the OHS point out the importance of ingesting various types of drinks, cold infusions, gazpachos, etc. as well as water. In fact, when asking about those healthy guidelines, 84% of Canarians admit that drinking various types of nicely flavoured drinks helps them drink the recommended amount.

In order to fight against this poor level of awareness and inform about the necessity to be constantly hydra-ted, the campaign called “¡No te deshidrates!” (Don’t get dehydrated) promotes healthy hydration habits for summer under the slogan “There are thousands of fun ways to get hydrated!” all over Spain.

Obwohl es gesundheitsschädlich ist, bei der Hitze nicht ausreichend zu trinken, geben 21% der Kana-rier zu, dass sie viel Zeit am Strand verbringen, ohne etwas zu trinken. 31% trinken nur wenn sie Durst haben. Durst tritt jedoch erst auf, wenn schon ein gewisser Flüssigkeitsmangel besteht.

Die Beobachtungsstelle für Hydratation und Gesun-dheit (OHS) führt seit fünf Jahren mit Unterstützung des Ministeriums für Gesundheit, Sozialpolitik und Gleichberichtigung (MSPSI), des Ärztekollegs Spa-niens (OMC) und der Quirón-Stiftung die jährliche Bewusstseinsbildungskampagne „Vertrocknen Sie nicht“ durch. Sie hat kürzlich mit folgendem Motto begonnen: Es gibt tausend angenehme Möglichkei-ten, sich mit Flüssigkeit zu versorgen!

Die Sommerhitze kann dazu führen, dass der Or-ganismus Wasser und Elektrolyte verliert, die Folgen davon sind Kopfschmerzen, Schwindel, Übelkeit, Müdigkeit usw. Aber nicht nur die Hitze führt dazu, dass wir Flüssigkeit verlieren. Es gibt zahlreiche Ri-sikofaktoren: Gastroenteritis, Durchfall, lange Reisen im Auto oder im Flugzeug sowie ein Missbrauch der Klimaanlage – die für frische Luft sorgt – gehören zu den üblichen Ursachen für Dehydrierung, werden allerdings kaum in Betracht gezogen. Wenn man sie nach diesen gesunden Regeln fragt, sagen 84% dass es ihnen leichter fällt, ausreichend zu trinken, wenn

Das Motto lautet: Es gibt tausend angenehme Arten, Flüssigkeit aufzunehmen.

Da es der Bevölkerung oft schwer fällt, die von den Fachleuten empfohlene Menge zu trinken, betont die Kampagne Vertrocknen Sie nicht! die Tatsache, dass der Geschmack der verschiedenen Getränke die Flüssigkeits-aufnahme erleichtert. Das Trinken macht mehr Spaß, wenn man außer Wasser auch Kräutertees, Gazpachos und Getränke mit gestoßenem Eis trinken kann.

Verschiedene Untersuchungen beweisen, dass man bis zu 50% mehr Flüssigkeit aufnimmt, wenn man verschiedene Getränke trinkt. Dadurch kann die Hydratation um 32% gesteigert werden.

Ratschläge um Dehydratation zu VerhindernMan sollte täglich nach und nach 2 bis 2,5 Liter

Flüssigkeit in kleinen Mengen zu trinken.Bei physischen Aktivitäten und Körperarbeit sollte

man diese Menge erhöhen und darauf achten, ob man so viel schwitzt, dass man zu viel Flüssigkeit verliert.

Wenn wir immer eine Flasche mit einem Getränk dabei haben, denken wir auch daran, zu trinken.

Man sollte sich nicht nur auf den Durst verlassen, denn ab einem gewissen Grad der Dehydratation hat man keinen Durst mehr.

Man sollte verschiedene Getränke trinken: Wasser, Kräutertees, Erfrischungsgetränke, Gazpachos usw. Der Geschmack der Getränke trägt dazu bei, dass man ausreichend trinkt.

Man sollte auch Lebensmittel essen, die viel Flüs-sigkeit enthalten (Obst und Gemüse).

Man sollte auf alkoholische Getränke verzichten, da diese eine harntreibend Wirkung haben und zur Dehydratation beitragen.

Wenn es sehr heiß ist, sollte man nicht nur mehr trinken, sondern sich auch an frischen Orten aufhalten.

Man muss darauf achten, dass diejenigen, die ei-nem stärkeren Risiko der Dehydratation ausgesetzt sind, genug trinken (alte Menschen, Sportler, Leute, die im Freien arbeiten usw.).

For some time now, the photographer and artist Carl Lang has been observing how the Island is trying to offer something more than just beach and surf to its residents and visitors. Fuerteventura wants to become something that Lanzarote has managed to be for a while: an Island where athletes can train, specifically for tri-athletes, marathon runners as well as cyclists and extreme hikers.

The biggest long distance Triathlon in the world took place in Roth, Bavaria with: 3,8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42 km marathon. Close to 200.000 spectators attended, as well as over 3.000 indivi-dual athletes and 600 groups of 4 athletes coming from 60 different countries. Two world records were beaten: in the men’s category: Andreas Raelert who completed the Triathlon in 7:41:33 hours; and the women’s category: Chrissie Wellington who won in 8:18:13 hours. The event became a true family fair with many activities organised in parallel.

The whole town took part with 45 helpers, 280 police agents, 385 firemen, 361 first-aid agents, 26 associations, 24 fire brigades and 675 referees. The activities were covered on eight TV channels during eight hours that reached 8 million spectators. Close to 200 accredited journalists reported on the event for 39 million readers.

What has all this got to do with Fuerteventura? A lot indeed, not only with 200.000 spectators

but also 5.000 athletes from different countries are potential clients for Fuerteventura; in their own coun-tries, during Autumn and Winter, outdoor swimming pools are closed and the cold, the ice and the snow make it impossible to train. Fuerteventura should advertise in those countries, welcome them with open arms and ensure that their stay on the island is as comfortable as possible.

Der Fotograf und Medienklünstler Carl Lang kam kürzlich mit einer guten Nachricht für die Inselpoli-tiker zurück. Schon seit Jahren sieht er mit an, wie die Verantwortlichen der hiesigen Tourismusindustrie verzweifelt an einer Aufwertung ihrer Bade- und Sur-finsel arbeiten. Was Lanzarote schon schon längst ist, möchte Fuerte noch werden. Nämlich eine Training-sinsel für Ausdauersportler, in diesem Fall speziell für Triathleten, Cross- und Marathonläufer sowie für Radrennfahrer und Extrem-Wanderer.

Jetzt fand im bayerischen Roth die grösste Triathlon-veranstaltung der Welt in der Langdistanz statt. (3,8 km Schwimmen, 180 km Radrennfahren, 42 km Marathonlauf), mit 200.000 Zuschauern, über 3.000 Einzelstartern und 600 Staffeln aus 60 Nationen, inklusive den Inhabern zweier Weltrekorde - bei den Männern, Andreas Raelert GER mit 7:41:33 Std. und bei den Frauen Chrissie Wellington mit 8:18:13 Std. Gleichzeitig war es auch ein riesiges Familienfest mit viel Rahmenprogramm und großer Triathlon Messe.

Eine ganze Stadt engagierte sich mit 45 Helfern: 280 Polizisten, 385 Feuerwehrleuten, 361 Rettung-diensten, 26 Vereinen, 24 Feuerwehren und 675 Wettkampfrichtern. 8 TV Sender berichteten mit einer total Sendezeit von 8 Stunden und erreichten dabei 8 Mio Zuschauer; 200 akkreditierte Journalisten schrieben für 39 Mio Leser.

Freibäder ihr Training vermiesen. Wir sollten bei ihnen zuhause sollten werben. Hier dagegen sollten wir sie mit offenen Armen empfangen und ihnen ihren Auf-tenthalt so bequem wie möglich machen. Bei einem mehrtägigen Triathlon Wettkampf erreicht man oft mit gezielten Aktionen mehr als auf einer riesigen Tourismusmesse mit überstarker Konkurrenz.

Seit April dieses Jahres gibt es nun auch hier auf Fuerteventura den Triathlon Challenge. Er verfügt über das Knowhow und die Lizenz derselben Leute, die auch in Roth verantwortlich sind. Das ist eine einmalige Chance für unsere Insel! Als Sportfotograf konnte ich den Aufstieg von Lanzarotes Ironman in den vergangenen 20 Jahren mitverfolgen. Und ich

bin zu der Erkenntnis gekommen, dass man nur mit der Leidenschaft einzelner ehemaliger Sportler und dem Engagement einer ganzel Insel von einer Ziege-ninsel zum Surferparadies in die Championsleague aufsteigen kann. Darüber hinaus soll die wirtschaft-liche und gesellschaftliche Relevanz der noch immer boomenden Sportart Triathlon noch nicht einmal ausgeführt werden.

Gegründet wurde die Wettkampfserie vor 5 Jahren von Herbert Walchshöfer in Roth und hat einen Ableger in der neuseeländischen Stadt Wanaka. Dann folgten Niederbronn, les Bainsund Vichy in Frankreich, Barcelo-na, Kopenhagen und Aaerhus in Dänemark, Kraichgau und Walchsee in Österreich, das australische Cairns und Fuerteventura kamen im Frühjahr hinzu sowie Henley bei London und erst kürzlich Kapstadt.

Der Challenge Serie gehören inzwischen 13 Wettstätten an, und Fuerte ist mit von der Partie. Der nächste Challenge Termin ist am Samstag, dem 14. April 2012. Im nächsten Jahr werden hier schon 400 Teilnehmer erwartet. Wem Fuerteventura ins Tra-iningsprogramm passt, wird hier starten, egal ob Profi oder Amateur. Es wird sich schnell herum sprechen, wie das Klima, die Organisation, die Begeisterung und die Rücksichtnahme aufgenommen werden. Nutzen wir also diese Möglichkeit, die all-inclusive-Insel wie-der mehr als eine individuelle Sport- und Kulturinsel zu präsentieren. As sport’s photographer, I was able to follow the rise of the Lanzarote Ironman for the past 20 years. I have come to the conclusion that it is the passion of some retired athletes and the involvement of everyone that makes it possible to convert this island in a paradise for surfers and the Champions League can even be reached. Furthermore, the Triathlon is peaking and is important on economical and social levels.

This series of competitions was created 5 years ago by Herbert Walchshöfer in the town of Roth with an extension in the town of Wanaka in New Zealand. They were later followed by Niederbronn-les-Bains and Vichy in France, Barcelona, Copenhagen and Aaerhus in Denmark, Kraichgau and Walchsee in Austria; in Spring Cairns in Australia, Fuerteventura,

Henley (town close to London) and finally Cape Town were incorporated.

Now the Challenge Series is taking place in 13 sites and Fuerteventura is one of them. The next Challenge will take place on 14th April 2012. 400 participants are expected for next years. Those who wish to par-ticipate in Fuerteventura can be either professionals or amateurs. We should enjoy the climate, the orga-nisation, the enthusiasm that is on offer in order to present this island as a sports’ and cultural heaven and not only as an “all inclusive” destination. Other islands are already managing to do it despite having a lot less space.

Desde hace ya algún tiempo, el fotógrafo y artista Carl Lang lleva observando cómo la Isla está intentan-do ofrecer algo más que playa y surf a sus residentes y visitantes. Fuerteventura quiere convertirse en algo que Lanzarote es desde hace tiempo: Una isla de en-trenamiento para deportistas, específicamente para triatletas, corredores de maraton así como ciclistas y senderistas extremos.

En Roth, en Baviera, tuvo lugar el Triathlon de larga distancia más grande del mundo: 3,8 km de nado, 180 km de carrera en bicicleta y 42 km de maratón). Asistieron cerca de 200.000 espectadores, más de 3.000 deportistas individuales y 600 grupos de 4 atletas, provenientes de 60 países. Se batieron dos records mundiales: en la categoría de los hombres, Andreas Raelert hizo 7:41:33 horas; en la categoría de las mujeres, Chrissie Wellington logró 8:18:13 horas. El evento se convirtió en una verdadera fiesta familiar con muchas actividades paralelas.

Toda la ciudad se implicó: Participaron 45 ayudan-tes, 280 policias, 385 bomberos, 361 servicios de socorro, 26 asociaciones, 24 cuerpos de bomberos y 675 arbitros. Cubrieron la actividad ocho canales de televisión TV que informarón con una duración total de 8 horas y que legó a 8 millones de espectadores. Fuerteventura debería hacer publicidad en esos países, recibirles con brazos abiertos y procurar que su estancia en la isla sea lo más cómoda posible.

Desde abril de este año se celebra también aqui en Fuerteventura el Triathlon Challenge. Para este evento se cuenta con la experiencia y licencia de los responsables del evento de Roth. Se trata de una oportunidad unica para nuestra isla. Siendo fotografo de deporte he podido seguir el ascenso del Ironman en Lanzarote durante los ultimos 20 años. He llegado a la conclusión que sólo con la pasión de algunos

deportistas retirados y con la involucración de todos es posible convertir a esta isla en un paraíso para surfistas y se puede incluso llegar hasta la Cham-pions League. Además el Triathlon está en auge y es importante a nivel economico y social.

Esta serie de competiciones ha sido fundada hace 5 años por Herbert Walchshöfer en la localidad de Roth y con una extensión en la ciudad de Wanaka en Nueva Zelanda. Luego siguerón Niederbronn les Bainsund Vichy en Francia, Barcelona, Copenhague y Aaerhus en Dinamarca, Kraichgau y Walchsee en Austria; esta primavera se agregaron Cairns en Australia, Fuerteventura, Henley ciudad cercana a Londres y por ultimo Ciudad del Cabo.

Ahora se celebra el Challenge Serie en 13 lugares y Fuerteventura es uno de ellos. La próxima fecha de Challenge será el sábado 14 de abril 2012. Para el año que viene se esperan 400 participantes. Los que deseen participar en Fuerteventura no importa si son profesionales o amateurs. Hay que aprovechar el clima, la organización, el entusiasmo que nos ofrece esta tierra para presentarla como isla de deportes y de cultura y no sólo como el destino “todo incluido”. Moda infantil en Gran TarajalEn la tarde noche del pasado 22 de agosto se celebró el primer desfile de moda con motivo

de la 36ta Semana de la Juventud de Gran Tarajal. El marco escogido para esta ocasión fue su impresionante playa que, rodeada de focos, banderas, música y un buen número de personas, que todavía deslumbraban más aun si cabe el entorno, se dieron cita para arropar a sus comercios en-tre los cuales se encontraba Tréboles Moda Infantil, que abría el pase con sus pequeños modelos de PASARENA, que con sus andares hicieron las delicias del público. Una vez acabado el pase, la avenida de Gran Tarajal se convirtió, por esa noche, en una autentica rambla llena de zancudos, fuegos, trapecistas, payasos y magia, sobre todo, mucha magia. Sin duda la Semana de la Juventud tiene mucho que ofrecer a todas aquellas personas que se quieran acercar a disfrutar de las cálidas noches de Gran Tarajal.
