    They have been involved in the preparation of theaction plan and in allocating resources for theactivities in the action plan.

    For the politicians they play a critical role first of allin policy formulation and also in sensitizing thecommunity on the need for both genders to co exist .

    Gender and GBV plan exist It is implemented in a coordinated manner through

    the district development committee gender sub committee which comprises of all governmentdepartments, church organisation representatives,key non governmental organisation and privatecompanies

    ARE GENDER AND GBV CONCERNS AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR BOTH WOMEN AND

    MEN? HOW ARE THEY INVOLVED? GBV is a concern to both men and women

    as can be seen from the participation of bothsexes in the preparation of the action plan.

    It is also important to mention that as adistrict we participated for the first time in thesixteen days of gender activism and theactivities we carried out included educatingboth men and women on family law

    ARE THEIR DEDICATED RESOURCES, INCLUDING HUMAN AND FINANCIAL

    RESOURCES FOR GENDER

    MAINSTREAMING? Both human resource and financial resourceare avaliable . For human resource, eachdepartment has appointed a gender focal

    person responsible implementing thegender policies. For the financial resource the local authority

    did allocate some finances in the budget forthe first time.

    MOBILISED? Mobilization of reliable permanent

    employees from line departments of themunicipality and government departments.

    Donations from the business houses in thedistrict in order to carry out some activitiesduring the sixteen days of gender activism

    Fundraising activities which will go alongside with Sensitization have also been linedup.

    MONITORING AND EVALUATION

    The district committee meet quarterly andgets reports from the gender focal personson what is happening in the various

    departments . The officer from the police victim support unit

    has also been providing the committee withlatest information on reported cases hencemaking it easier to monitor the programme.

    We have seen policies to accommodate thedisabled being entertained such as theconstruction of the ramp.
