GET INVOLVED IN THE COMMONWEALTH CLASS.Commonwealth Class is an initiative for schools from the British Council, BBC and Commonwealth Secretariat, and is delivered in Australia by the Australian Federation of Societies for Studies in Society and Environment (AFSSSE).

The entire Commonwealth Class project aims to involve all schools across the Commonwealth in a number of ways including:

• Providing access to high quality resources including detailed lesson plans, classroom activities and projects.

• Resources that have links with the Australian Curriculum and aim to address issues and topics such as social responsibility, Commonwealth culture and sporting events.

• Access to the latest global activities including debates and competitions both in Australia and across the Commonwealth.

• Organising ‘Countdown to the Games’ events across Australia in the countdown to the Glasgow 2014 Games. The events will include presentations from our Commonwealth Class Ambassadors – Hockeyroos players, Kieran Govers and Jake Whetton.

Australian Schools who actively engage with the Commonwealth Class resources could have the opportunity to send one teacher and two students to the Glasgow 2014 Games*.
