Streptococcus pyogenes = Group A Strep

Carried by many peoplein throat or on skin

often no symptoms

Cause of • strep throat• Impetigo الجلد اصابه• Necrotizing االنسجه موت fasciitis

causes the formation of pus or of fatal septicemias

Alpha-hemolysis

• Alpha-hemolytic Streptococcus species "Viridans group" streptococci, including species such as the Streptococcus mutans, mitis, and salivarius groups display alpha hemolysis.

Bacitracin مضاد اسمsensitivity

Demonstrations and practial

• Principle:– Bacitracin test is used for presumptive

identification of group A للترجيح– To distinguish between S. pyogenes

(susceptible حساس to Bacitracin) & non group A such as S. agalactiae (Resistant to B)

– Bacitracin will inhibit the growth of gp A Strep. pyogenes giving zone of inhibition around the disk

• Procedure:– Inoculate يلقح BAP ( فيها اللي الميديا االجار

with heavy suspension of tested المضاد (organism

– Bacitracin disk (0.04 U) is applied to inoculated BAP الملقحه العينه

– After incubation الحضانه any zone of ,فترهinhibition around the disk is considered as susceptible يعني المضاد هذا من حساسأي) ( قروب
