I) What is the opportunity cost of taking part in the fieldtrip on Lamma Island?

Opportunity cost means that the highest-valued option forgone. The opportunity cost of taking part in the fieldtrip on Lamma Island is the lessons we should have on Thursday. Also, because of the time spent on the trip is longer than in school, the activities such as extracurricular activity after school will be the opportunity cost.

III) Will your answer in (I) change if the weather on that day is very bad?

The cost of taking part in the fieldtrip on Lamma Island remain unchanged because travelling on Lamma Island is not the highest-valued option forgone.

II) Will your answer in (I) change if the weather on that day is very good?

The opportunity cost of it will decrease because the value of visiting on Lamma Island increase, so the lessons needed to have on Thursday which is the highest-valued option forgone will decrease.

ReflectionOn 10th March, 2011, our school held a core day. Every form have to go outstanding and we went to Lamma Island. In the past, just thought that Lamma Island is undeveloped and like a small fishing port. However, it was surprise that i could see the other side of them. Moreover, I have learnt the culture of the people who are living in Lamma Island. They believe in Chinese God very much. I heard that they go to the Tin Hau Temple every day. There are many foreigner live in there because of comfortable lives and fresh air. It shows that Hong Kong must improve the environment. Therefore, Hong Kong will earn more profits.

In short, I enjoy this field-trip and my knowledge have improved a lot. I hope I can travel this kind of trip again!

Reflection

During this field-trip, I know that Lamma Island is a excellent tourist attraction and have many different kinds of shops and restaurant. In the past, I just thought that Lamma Island is undeveloped and like a small fishing port. Moreover, I learn that members cooperation is very important.

Reflection

During this field-trip, I know that Lamma Island is a excellent tourist attraction and have many different kinds of shops and restaurant. Nowadays, the Hong Kong government blinds a Wind Power Station. It can invest Hong Kong's profits. I also learn lots of knowledge about the Wing Power Station. It can blend in the beautiful environment of Lamma Island.

Moreover, I learn that member’s cooperation is very important. Even if i do survey alone, I can't finish the project by myself. On the Lamma Island, I lost my temple and because of my teammates, i can finish the explore. I am willing to visit again!

Reflection

On 10-3-2010, we had the core day and we went to Lamma Island to observe and study. We visited the Lamma Wind Power Station. It had a large fan that we can see from distant. There are many knowledge that about the fan. I watched every panels and improve a lot.

In the afternoon, we went to Tin Hau Temple. The temple's main hall is dedicated to Tin Hau, the Goddess of the Sea, while on either side of the main hall stand, respectively, Man Mo Hall, dedicated to both the God of Literature and the God of War and the Temple for Justice, built in honour of 12 noble-hearted men who protected the Lam Tsuen villages in the past.

In this trip, I know more about the culture of Lamma Island. The people believe the Chinses God and their life was free. I hope I can go there next time. Ip Pui Ying 4A (31)
