CONSIDERATIONS
“Three intensive days, in the heart of Sesto San Giovanni, a town that hosted in the past one of the largest and most extensive industrialconcentrations in Italy. Inside Villa Visconti d'Aragona you can breathe deeply the air of international cine-photographic culture, thanks to theclose-knit and industrious photographic association Gieffesse, Gruppo Fotoamatori Sestesi.
I had known them for a long time for their highly appreciated award-winning and innovative audiovisuals. They were the first to trace a newpath for the ancient diaporama. I had only occasionally attended some shows organized by this group, now I have entered more deeply intotheir world, thanks to their invitation to support the organization of this new international AV competition. To seal this passage, we invitedJean-Paul Petit, historical author, promoter and organizer of the "diaporama" in France and in Europe.
As it happens when we find ourselves in the name of an interest and a common passion, it was an intense exchange of opinions, comparisons, insights, meeting with new people and therefore a birth of ideas and projects. You always come out enriched when you go withthe curiosity to know and leave the arrogance of knowledge at home. Also in the evaluation of the almost 100 audiovisuals submitted byauthors from all over the world, the jury gave an important sign.
Thanks to all the Gieffesse for the opportunity and the organization, in particular to Antonio Grassi, third juror and very experienced in termsof audiovisual and portfolio, and ‘Sir’ Alberto Ravanelli, vice-president of the club and salon responsible.“

WINNERS – FIAP GOLD MEDAL
“Libera“Donatella Tormene Massimo Santinello - ITA
“The authors accompany us softly through the path of illnessand healing, making us go through the anxieties, theexpectations, the discomfort and the liberation with a soberbut effective minimalist photographic array and appropriatevideo inserts that visually describe this itinerary. The choiceof musical pieces is consistent with the message of aliberating path and well impresses the sensations in mind.
A delicate story, with sketched intimate moments thatbecomes a universal message of hope in the struggle of theperson with the disease.”
2nd Place – FIAF GOLD MEDAL
“Tre storie d’amore“Massimiliano Falsetto - ITA
“An exceptional photography tells three particularstories, bringing us with balance and delicacy not onlyin the daily life of the characters, but also in the world oftheir mutual feelings, their emotions and their intimatequestions. In addition to the mastery of thephotographic language, the author's ability is to be aninvisible presence that illustrate natural situations.”
3rd Place – FIAP SILVER MEDAL
“In Search of Christina“Richard Brown - GB
“An historical documentary skillfully crafted, which startsfrom an image of a famous exhibition to trace the history ofcolor photography, the story of an era and the story of acharming unknown person, keeping the viewer's curiosityfrom the first to the last minute. The tale is enriched by somedelicate passages that denote the author's deep interest inthe life of the protagonist.”
4th Place – FIAF SILVER MEDAL
“La dimora del vento“Gabriele Pinardi - ITA
“The author creates a delicate and exciting story of life andmemories, through a refined and creative use of video within thephotographic audiovisual. He creates a "third image" consistingof the fixed part and the integrated video part in a technicallyperfect way. In Gabriele's audiovisual the video introduces thetemporal space scenario of memory into the fixed image (whichrepresents the real), in a parallel and coexistent narrative thatguides the viewer's imagination in the space of memories withdelicacy, nostalgia and personality.
The same video becomes the keystone to open and close theflow of memories (the inverted and turbulent drip) with a strongsymbolism. A perfect construction from a technical point of view, highly suggestive and engaging, which opens up new content forsubsequent readings.”
5th Place – FIAP BRONZE MEDAL
“Vivre avec Mona et les autres“Frédéric Michel - FRA
“An impressive work of design, shooting and post-production that involved many real-worldpersonalities.
The author effectively presents a series of questions ofhuman, intergenerational and interracialcommunication, but also the theme of therelationship between the portrayed subject and theperforming artist, a theme that runs through bothpictorial and photographic art, posing a series ofquestions. “
6th Place – FIAF BRONZE MEDAL
“Gli Amanti - La Luna - Il Bagatto“
Diana Belsagrio - ITA
“The author relies heavily on popular symbolism topersonally tell the eternal story of the abandonedlover. Common places and recurring speechelements provide an original and captivatingbackground to express the feelings of theprotagonist.”
