Canton Tower, at 610 meterscounting the 156 meter antenna that sits atop the 454meter tower proper (which is the consensus on how tomeasure the total height of a tower), is currently theworld's tallest tower, and given its unique construction, which facilitates "building high", Canton Tower willlikely remain the tallest tower for some time, unlesssomeone comes up with a building design that is evenmore clever than that of Canton Tower (note that CantonTower is the world's tallest tower, not the world's tallestbuilding... there is a limit to the size of the base of anedifice that can qualify as a tower rather than as abuilding – to satisfy your curiosity, the world's tallestbuilding is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, standing at 828meters, including its spire).

It contained the original hand written carving by afamous Chinese scholar who was a friend of Dr. SunYat-sen and was closely involved with the revolution thatbrought down the Qing Dynasty. The name plaguesurvived all the wars and now hangs proudly in the frontlobby. The name ‘Tao Tao’ was actually fashioned aboutthe concubine of the owner with a slight modification soit would not offend anyone. It was a very famousrestaurant where all the famous people would go. It alsoserved dim sum after 9 pm, a pretty unique feature. Wewent there for night dim sum and were reallydisappointed. The food was not very good and limited. Both the dim sum and tea served were expensive and onehas to line up and get whatever comes out from thekitchen.
