Some of the best European Designers and internationally acclaimed agencies, will show their work with this creatives cluster and design agency called DESIGNLOBBY.CN based in Berlin,Germany, during the Guangzhou Design Week 2012.

To name a few, those agencies have won some of the most prestigious Awards in the world such as RED DOT DESIGN AWARDS, DIELINE PACKAGING DESIGN AWARDS, EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARDS, IF AWARDS, NEW YORK FESTIVALS, FAB AWARDS, CHINAS MOST SUCCESSFUL DESIGN AWARDS, VIMEO & STASH BEST OF and many more.

The participants are from various disciplines such as Branding & Communication, Motion Design, Architecture and Interior Design, Product & Lighting Design, Art & Photography.

Curator is the artist & product designer Thanos Zakopoulos from CTRLZAK, who resides and works in Milan, Italy.

Among the participants are the winners of Red Dot Design Award for 2011 as Agency of the year called Beetroot, the creators of the Athens Olympic Games 2004 logo and internationally acclaimed office of Red Design Consultants, , this year’s award winners with Red dot and European Design Awards Designers United who are also responsible for the brand identity of the Formula 1 of sailing boats race called VOLVO OCEAN RACE as well as for the two of the organizations of EUROPEAN FINAL FOUR BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT, Red dot and European Design Award winners BUSYBUILDING, the creators of GOOGLE ART PROJECT VIDEO, Creators of the multi awarded Korres brand identity K2design, internationally acclaimed office of motion design of NOMINT who were this year’s European Design Award Gold winners, the architects of this year’s FAB Award for the Best Food and Beverage Space in Airports A&M Architects, and others.

But what is Designlobby ?

Designlobby is the new initiative of former CEO of CARTECO, Vassilios P. Bartzokas and serial entrepreneur within the architecture and design industry. DESIGNLOBBY.ASIA is a platform that helps designers connect with the right clients and promote their work in Asia. 在2012年广州设计周期间，一些欧洲最佳设计师及国际顶级著名设计机构将与DESIGNLOBBY.CN 一道共同献上他们的精彩作品。DESIGNLOBBY.CN总部设于德国柏林，是一家集中代表创意及设计群体的代理机构。

简单枚举一些，这些设计机构荣获了一些最具国际盛名的荣誉奖项，如红点设计大奖、DIELINE 包装设计大奖、欧洲设计大奖、IF大奖、纽约广告大奖、FAB大奖、中国最佳设计大奖及VIMEO & STASH BEST OF大奖，等等。

Thanos Zakopoulos is a creator of varied forms and contexts. An artist, a designer and a photographer amongst other things, he likes to bring together different disciplines and situations creating projects which balance between contemporary art & design. He has presented and participated in many exhibitions around the world and has given lectures in various occasions in Europe and China. In 2008 he founded together with Katia Meneghini CTRLZAK Art & Design Studio based in Milan of which he is also the creative director. When he is not there his research trips take him to strange places sometimes as far as to infinity and beyond.

The Greek Graphic Designers’ Association (GGDA) was founded in 1983 and is the national association for professional graphic designers.

The GGDA provides an advisory and arbitrating role for its member designers. We inform our members of developments in the field of Graphic Design and coordinate the efforts of all graphic designers in order to facilitate the advancement of the graphic design profession in Greece.

We provide a forum for dialogue and exchange

of ideas and information on issues relating to communication design. We offer advice and support in matters pertaining to fees, ethical practise, copyright etc. to our members.

The principal vehicle of the association is the General Assembly, which decides on all matters pertaining to the advancement of the association’s goals, as well as every issue submitted to it. The GGDA is ruled by a nine-member Executive Board, which is elected every two years.

In 2011 they were honored from the Hellenic Association of Architects, with the Award of best realized building of the years 2005 - 2010 in Greece, for the project “House in Chalandri”.

Their work has been presented in architectural exhibitions within and outside Greece such as: exhibition of Mediterranean Architecture in Montpellier - France 2000 / Athens - Scape: the 2004 Olympics and the metabolism of the city - London 2003 / EU – Japan Year of People - to - People Exchanges 2005 “On: the Modern and the Contemporary in European and Japanese culture” in Tokyo 2006, etc. Projects of the team are frequently published in the local architectural press and have been presented in international architecture sites and reviews.

The two met at high school, studied at the same time in London, worked together at Boston and at their arrival at Athens started up “VOIS architects”. In 2009, Martha Georgiou, became part of the team adding the experience she gained at prominent architecture offices.

Having their base in Athens, the office is active mainly in the Greek region but also abroad. The main object focuses on private work that covers a wide spectrum of uses and scales; residences, group of residences and shops.

Drawing inspiration upon daily life, habits, moments and objects, the architectural course of each project is defined. Having as a basic rule the alternation, every project is a new start given the possibility to reconfigure the materials, redefine the form and rethink the function. Dialogue is incorporated in the process of design and in the axis of growth and improvement of an architectural product. The analysis and recording of each individual, typology and environment in the course of study are essential.

The product of the design process is a concept that creates an architectural story read and translated in different scales. Objective of the office is that each architectural undertaking of independent scale contains substance, quality and creativity.

AwardsTheir work has been published in a variety of architectural magazines.In 2011 they were invited to participate in the Wallpaper* Architects Directory Exhibition at the Architectural Foundation in London, as one of twenty world’s best emerging architectural practices, given an open brief to design the ultimate rural retreat.

Part of their work will be published in the 13th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice “COMMON GROUND”, as part of the KM Properties associated architects, in the Greek pavilion under the title “Made in Athens”.

In November 2012 the “Poseidonion Grand Hotel” in Spetses, Greece won the 1st place in the categories of “Best Small Hotel” and “Best Hotel Architecture for Greece” and “Best Hotel Architecture Europe” in the “International Hotel Awards” for the season 2012-2013.

The pair lives and works in Thessa-loniki, Greece. Klio studied painting at the Hanze Uni-versity, Groningen, NL print-making, at the Governors’ State University, Chicago IL, USA and holds an MFA in Digital art from the Univer-sity of Chicago, Chicago, IL USA. Christos Kalos studied Photography at ESP school of Photography, Thessaloniki, Greece. The pair has partici-pated in many solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad.

In 2011 a new book, has just been released by IANOS pub-lications written by Profes-sor of Art History & Culture Theory at the Technical Uni-versity of Crete, Thanasis Moutsopoulos ‘Kalos&Klio’, A user’s guide for the digital world and global trash.

“Kalos&Klio are important figures in the world of digi-tal art and Net Art today, while through their post pop and post psychedelic explo-rations they have opened up new avenues in the area of design, interior architec-ture and illustration. Break-ing through the boundaries of the arts Kalos & Klio create ensembles which are delib-erately emptied of ideology and which, for precisely this reason, articulate a politi-cal discourse. They are in-tentionally artists of the ‘post’ and the ‘intermedi-ate’, since their works are functional, but retain their validity once their function is exhausted. “

Vedelik is a design engineer-ing studio located in Ávila and Madrid (Spain), founded by Virginia Jiménez García. With strong partners and cli-ents from different manufac-turer industries, Vedelik is changing the perception of design.

“We always try to add value to our society and to our planet. At Vedelik we don’t design for our clients, they design with us.

Jorg van den Hoven GUANGZHOU,SOUTHEAST CHINA,CAMBODIA,INDIAJorg van den Hoven is a leading design pioneer in Chi-na since 2001. After working for his own digital design agency during his studies, for Toyota’s Advanced Technol-ogy Dept. and having serviced various clients in different industries. He started his first company in China in 2005, and quickly that resulted in the first international award winning (Dutch) product design company in South China. After, working for the Netherlands Minstry of Foreign Af-fairs on the Creative Industry in China he realised that the power for innovation in China has endless potentials. During his project for the World Bank in Cambodia in 2010 he planned a new strategy for design in China. As consult-ant for private and government design organisations he observed the various potentials and creative improvements that would benefit both China and designers.

His strenght have always been starting up new enterprises, initiating new strategies and new inniatives. Bringing his back ground as: Industrial product design engineer (BSc.), Product Innovation Manager (MSc.) his courses at Sun Yat Sen Univerity MBA program, and his functions as strategist for companies and organisations in branding and technology assessments, he created a new perspective towards various organisations, including his own design company. Having met Mr Vassilios in 2011 both realised together they cover most aspects required for a good design agency and insight required to understand design, achitecture and fashion for the Asian markets.

He cooperated with many design organisations in Guangdong like: Canton Fair product Design Center, Guangzhou Design Week, Foshan Design Week, Shenzhen Design Expo, Shunde Industrial design Expo, Shenzhen Architecture Biennale, China Design Awards, Jin Tang design awards, China Indus-trial Design Association, and has been a invited speaker in a range of design events. He has also been responsible to launch various business and design platforms in South China, and was the co-author of the Chinese book “Added Value Design”.
