NABOs 2013 Convention and the 50th anniversary of Elkos National Festival

One of the highlights of the 2013 Convention in Elko was when NABO President, Valerie Arrechea (photo center), presented NABO’s lifetime achievement Bizi Emankorra awards to Bob Goicochea (photo left) from Elko and Jim Ithurralde (photo right) from Eureka, NV. This award is vot-ed on by the current NABO delegates and is presented to people who have made an extraordinary contribution to Basque culture in the US. This year's awardees were instrumental in the early days of NABO and have made significant contributions to their local Basque communities. Jim

    Ithurralde was NABO’s second president.
