    Introduction

    Thank you for purchasing the airCam. This Quick Start Guide isdesigned to guide you through the installation of the airCam and

    show you how to access the airCam's configuration interface. ThisQuick Start Guide also includes the warranty terms.

    The airVisionsoftware and User Guide are available for downloadat downloads.ubnt.com/airvision.

    The hardware installation process is different for indoor andoutdoor installations. After familiarizing yourself with the

    airCam in the Hardware Overviewsection, please proceed to theappropriate installation section:

    Installation Overview

    The installation process is different depending on whether you aremounting the camera outdoors or indoors. Follow the instructions

    for the installation that you are performing.

    Outdoor Installation

    Important:The ideal outdoor location for mounting theairCam would be under an overhang/eave that sheltersthe camera. If the airCam is located in a completely openoutdoor environment without an overhang/eave, do not

    install camera with a downtilt of more than 45.

    Outdoor Installation

    1. Press down on the release to remove the Ethernet Door.

    Important:Do not remove the plug.

    3. Insert the Sealinto the bottom of the camera and wrap the Sealaround the Ethernet cable. Reconnect the Ethernet Doorto theairCam, leaving the Ethernet cable fed through the seal at thebottom of the camera.

    4. Insert the Mounting Bracketinto the Mounting Slotsuntil a clickis heard to confirm a secure connection.

    Outdoor Installation

    5. There are three recessed areas for the Ethernet cable on theMounting Bracket Base. Thread the Ethernet cable through twoof the recessed areas and out the one that will be closest to yourpower source.

    Important:If the power source is above the camera, extendthe cable 70-80 mm below the camera body before routingup to the power source.

    6. Position the Mounting Bracketin the desired location and use apencil to mark the holes on the wall.

    7. Use a 6 mm drill bit to drill the holes in the wall.

    8. Insert a Screw Anchorinto each hole.9. Secure the Mounting Bracketto the wall using the Self-Tapping

    Screws.

    Indoor Installation

    1. Remove the screw and knob that connect the MountingBracketBaseto the camera attachment by turning the knob

    counter-clockwise.Mounting Bracket Base

    2. Insert an Ethernet cable through the Mounting BracketBase.

    3. Reconnect the Mounting Bracket Baseto the cameraattachment by reconnecting the screw and knob. Turn theknob clockwise to lock the camera attachment back to theMounting BracketBase.

    4. Unscrew the Plugon the back of the airCam.

    5. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port.

    6. Insert the Mounting Bracketinto the Mounting Slotsuntil a clickis heard to confirm a secure connection.

    1. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernetport labeled POEon the PoE Adapter.

    2. Connect an Ethernet cable from your LAN to the Ethernet portlabeled LANon the PoE Adapter.

    3. Connect the power cord to the power port on the PoE Adapter.Connect the other end of the power cord to a power outlet.The Power LED should light up on the airCam.

    Download and install the latest version of the airVision software atdownloads.ubnt.com/airvision; the airVision auto management

    feature should automatically detect and install your new camera.

    Go to the airVision interface to verify the camera is installed. Itshould appear on the left under Unplaced Cameras.

    Drag the Camera to the appropriate location on the map.

    Click the Camera icon. Click the Live Feed icon and a live feed of the camera should

    be displayed.

    Camera Configuration Interface

    Access the Camera Configuration Interface if you have not yetinstalled airVision, or plan to use the airCam as a stand-alone

    camera without airVision.1. Make sure that your host machine is connected to the same

    LAN as the airCam.

    2. The airCam is set to DHCP by default. If you have a router orDHCP server providing addresses on your network, pleasecheck your DHCP Client Table or download the UbiquitiDiscovery Tool from: http://www.ubnt.com/download#app

    Note:If you do not have a DHCP server, the airCamdefaults to the IP address 192.168.1.20.

    4. Launch your web browser and in the address field, typehttp://and then the IP address of the airCam, for example:http://192.168.1.20. Press enter(PC) or return(Mac).

    5. The login screen will appear. Enter ubntin the UsernameandPasswordfields and click Login.

    Limited WarrantyUBIQUITI NETWORKS, Inc (UBIQUITI NETWORKS) warrants that theproduct(s) furnished hereunder (the Product(s)) shall be free from defects

    in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the dateof shipment by UBIQUITI NETWORKS under normal use and operation.UBIQUITI NETWORKS sole and exclusive obligation and liability underthe foregoing warranty shall be for UBIQUITI NETWORKS, at its discretion,to repair or replace any Product that fails to conform to the abovewarranty during the above warranty period. The expense of removal andreinstallation of any Product is not included in this warranty. The warrantyperiod of any repaired or replaced Product shall not extend beyond itsoriginal term.

    Warranty ConditionsThe above warranty does not apply if the Product:

    (II) has been painted, rebranded or physically modified in any way;

    (V) has been damaged or impaired as a result of using third partyfirmware;

    (VI) has no original Ubiquiti MAC label, or is missing any other originalUbiquiti label(s); or

    (VII) has not been received by Ubiquiti within 30 days of issuance of theRMA.

    In addition, the above warranty shall apply only if: the product has beenproperly installed and used at all times in accordance, and in all materialrespects, with the applicable Product documentation; all Ethernet cablingruns use CAT5 (or above), and for outdoor installations, shielded Ethernetcabling is used, and for indoor installations, indoor cabling requirementsare followed.

    Returns

    No Products will be accepted for replacement or repair without obtaininga Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number from UBIQUITI NETWORKS

    during the warranty period, and the Products being received at UBIQUITINETWORKS facility freight prepaid in accordance with the RMA process ofUBIQUITI NETWORKS.
