ST Sieve Trays

This low cost, fractionating trayoffers 2:1 turndown and goodefficiency in clean service and,like all our trays, is available in awide range of stainless steelsand exotic alloys.

FV Fixed Valve Trays

Fixed valve tray styles offerbetter turndown and moreresistance to fouling.

MV Moving Valve Trays

A self-cleaning tray with greatlyimproved turndown performanceand little weeping. Rectangularand circular valve options offermaximum design flexibility.

BC Bubble Cap Trays

Often used for low liquid loads,the bubble cap style also has thebest turndown characteristics, withoptions of slotted or plain styles.

GP & DS Knitted Mesh

This low cost, knitted demister isavailable in a wide range ofmaterials, shapes and sizes forgeneral purpose and dirty service.

HE High Efficiency Mesh

For more demanding applicationswe offer higher surface areadesigns using finer wire, dualmaterials and/or denser weaves.

VV Standard Vane Type

CONTRACT MANAGEMENTHAT has been designing, manufacturing and supplying column and vessel internals since 1998 during whichtime we have delivered many hundreds of installations throughout the world, which are successfully operatingwithout problem. To date we have never been advised of any performance problems on any of theseinstallations, which is a testament to the skills and experience of the design and engineering team.

Our process design team is led by Managing Director Mr David Hulse who is a Chartered Process Engineerwith 20 years experience working in the mass transfer sector for companies such as ETA Process Plant andNutter Engineering. Dave Hulse is responsible for approving all process and hydraulic mass transfer designprograms used within HAT International.

In our Alpha™ range of products you will find HAT’s improvedversions of many industry standard styles of random and structuredpacking, trays, distributors, coalescers, mist eliminators etc, forwhich design data is well established and verified. You will also findin our portfolio a number of proprietary products offeringperformance benefits, some of which we manufacture and supplyunder license from established USA and European companies. Ourprocess/hydraulic design of these products is checked andapproved by the licensor for each application.

Our project engineering centre is located in our Newcastle-under-Lyme Operations Office where our team ofEngineers and Project Managers organise the material procurement and manufacturing to suit the customer’stechnical specification. We will nominate a Project Manager to be the customer’s single point of contact for apurchase order. The Project Manager will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, expediting andcontract management and is ultimately responsible for ensuring that project technical, quality and schedule /commercial requirements are met.

The Project Managers report to the General Manager, Stuart Dunn, who plans and allocates overall resourcesand conducts regular, weekly contract progress reviews.

In 2001 HAT established an Operations Office in Pune, India, to support our global engineering design andregional manufacturing activities. This office is responsible for detailed engineering and drafting, the quality andoutput of all locally manufactured goods and for the smooth running of our local supply chain.

We operate to strict in house quality control procedures basedon ISO 9001-2000 standards and all products are rigorouslyinspected prior to delivery. We use a range of approved sub-contractors to carry out the sheet metal work and can furnishcomprehensive certification for materials, welding and testing ifrequired. Our Marketing Director Mike Kirk, who is a CharteredChemical Engineer, is responsible to the Board for QualityAssurance matters.

Our sheet metal subcontractors are located mainly in the UK and India and are selected from a range ofcriteria including management, product quality and QA, productivity, investment in the latest equipment,experience with a range of materials, welder qualifications, workforce and capacity.

Generally, HAT retains responsibility for the raw materialprocurement and stock control and we release this to our selected sub-contractorsonly upon our instruction to proceed with manufacture against approved drawings and calculations.
