Yew Chung Community College (YCCC) was established in 2008 by the Yew Chung Education Foundation (YCEF) which has over 80 years of history in quality education. In response to local and international needs, YCCC provides a multi-cultural learning environment with English as a genuine medium of instruction. YCCC is also well-known for its strong international academic team in nurturing global citizens for society through providing an inspiring and caring environment.

Building on the wealth of experience of the Yew Chung Education Foundation in Early Childhood Educat ion , and be l iev ing ear ly ch i ldhood development has a profound impact on individuals and society, YCCC now offers a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education as the flagship programme. The programme aims at nurturing high quality early childhood educators.

YCCC’s programmes are accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ).

YCCC has developed strong and close l inks and partnerships with excellent universities overseas. Graduates who meet the language and subject area requirements will be considered into the 2nd or 3rd year of a university Bachelor’s Degree Programme.

The most remarkable experience in YCCC would be my practicum in three different kindergartens. In my first practicum,

I was just a teacher assistant. It was very encouraging since I can teach young kids as a teacher in my second and third practicum. I am very lucky that I have already been employed by a kindergarten when I am still an undergraduate so that I can apply what I have

learnt in YCCC in a real practice.

實習。第一次實習時，我擔任助教的角色，到第二及第

Working with children has always been my dream since I was a child. After studying in YCCC, I have a clearer picture

The most difficult challenge that I faced was the 100% English learning environment. I graduated from a Chinese-

Medium secondary school. Initially, I struggled to get used to the English learning environment. Later, I proactively sought advice from teachers for improving English. I also read English newspaper

and studied vocabulary daily. My English has gradually improved.

我當初面對最大的困難就是全英語教學，我畢業於中文中

學。剛踏進課室的時候發現所有的課程都是以英語教學，

我覺得很吃力。後來，我不斷去請教老師如何提升英文

水平，加上每天閱讀英文報紙及練習生字，我的英

語水平就漸漸進步了。

I choose YCCC because I like the English environment here. Students speak English which can improve our English

and this is good for our future career. Secondly, there are lots of opportunities for articulation, as the programme is recognized

by many local and overseas universities. For me, I will choose to go to the UK, because YCCC has articulation partnerships with many

universities in the UK.

我選擇入讀 YCCC是因為我喜歡全英語的學習環境，學生都會用英語溝通，這樣能夠提升英語能力，對於將來就業

I am a mother with two children. Given my child nurturing experiences, it is more advantageous for me to study Early

Childhood Education than my classmates. The theories and knowledge are easier for me to follow. YCCC arranges many site visits for students,

allowing us to experience the real teaching and learning environments. Visits to local and international early childhood education organizations enabled us to gain insights into various ways of teaching, which would help us facilitate

children's holistic development in the future.

我是兩個孩子的母親，我修讀幼兒教育高級文憑課程相對上較其他同

學容易，因為我有育兒的經驗，能夠幫助我理解更多的知識。學校

安排了不少參觀的機會給同學，讓我們能實地體驗教育的環境。

As male teachers are rarely seen in kindergartens, making them more popular among children. I believe

males who are patient, devoted and attentive to details tend to have more potential in developing their career in

the early childhood education sector.

The most impressive moment in my YCCC journey is my first semester. When it comes to the theory part, the

teachers always take us to some schools to have a field trip. Compared with just the theoretical concepts, these

The life I had in YCCC was so life-changing.
