Friedrich Schiller University Jena tripled amount of third-party fundingBetween 2000 and 2015, the amount of third-party funding for the Friedrich Schiller University Jena (FSU) has almost tripled. The FSU is also among the 40 German universities who have received the highest amount of funding from the German Research Foundation (DFG; rank 35 in the period 2011 – 2013, Funding Atlas 2015 of the German Research Foundation).
Jena hält den Höchstwert bei Patentanmeldungen in ThüringenRund die Hälfte der 512 im Jahr 2015 angemeldeten Thüringer Patente stammt von Anmeldern aus Jena. Statistisch kommen somit in Jena ca. 250 angemeldete Patente auf 100.000 Einwoh-ner (Bundesdurchschnitt: 58 Patente pro 100.000 Einwohner in 2015).
Highest number of patent applications in ThuringiaOf the 512 patents filed in Germany from within the federal state of Thuringia, about half were filed by applicants from Jena. Statistically, this means approximately 250 patents were filed per 100,000 inhabitants in Jena (national average: 58 patents per 100,000 inhabitants in 2015).
Gegen den Trend: Jenas Bevölkerung wächst!Die Stadt Jena verzeichnete mit 8,3% die größte Bevölkerungszunahme zwischen 2000 und 2014 in ganz Thüringen: In diesem Zeitraum verringerte sich die Thüringer Gesamtbevölkerung um 11,3%.
Going against the trend: Jena´s population continues to growWith 8.3 %, the city of Jena registered the highest rate of growth in population between 2000 and 2014 in all of Thuringia. Over the same period of time, the population of Thuringia as a whole decreased by 11.3 %.
Der durch die Thüringer Hochschulen generierte Anteil am regionalen Bruttoinlandsprodukt beträgt 8%Anhand zahlreicher Studien ermittelt, bringt jeder in eine Universität investierte Euro eine Ren-dite von 1,60 bis 2,00 Euro ein.
