PRAYER AND REFLECTION For the Seventh Sunday of Easter May 17, 2015 Read: Mark 16:15-20
Today we hear two different accounts about radical transition: for Jesus’ disciples, something was ending and something entirely new was beginning. Jesus’ leaving contained the seeds of what was to come — the task to be done was clear. They were to proclaim the Gospel to every creature. And he equipped his followers with the promise of power through the Holy Spirit. Their work was just starting, and it continues today through us. Who could have imagined all of this from an itinerant preacher? Who can imagine what is yet to come through what we will do? As we reflect on our responsibility to assume the work of the disciples, we pray for ourselves, for our neighbors and for the whole world.
For the church as it struggles to communicate the Gospel to each generation and every culture … we pray,
For missionaries and pastors, preachers and catechists, especially those who work under difficult and dangerous conditions … we pray,
For peace throughout the world, especially in those places where there is religious intolerance or persecution … we pray,
For those who are experiencing endings and farewells from schools and colleges … we pray,
For the poor and marginalized: those who are hungry, homeless, unemployed, uninsured or uneducated … we pray,
For the sick and dying among us; for those who have died; for all the needs of this community … we pray, Prayer
Gracious God, you sent your Son among us to show us the way to you. Grant us all that we need to continue to work in his name, so that all creatures may be one in you. We ask this in Jesus’ name, who lives with you forever and ever. Amen.

Parish Prayer Almighty God, my parish family is composed of people like me. I help make it what it is. It will be friendly if I am friendly. Its pews will be filled if I help fill them. It will do great work if I work. It will make generous gifts to any causes, if I am a generous giver. It will bring other people into its worship and fellowship if I invite and bring them. It will be a parish family of loyalty and love, of fearlessness and faith, and a parish with a noble spirit if I – who make it what it is – am filled with these same qualities.
Holy Family Parish SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
sposta na fé: Quem crer e for batizado será salvo (v.16).
