Mr. Gary Soo Mr. Peter Cheng
Dear Partners and Friends, The Hong Kong Legal Training Institute (HKLTI) works to promulgate our belief that “Legal training always is the crucial difference.” This has been so since the launching of the HKLTI in 2012. In the year of 2015, HKLTI continued delivering legal training through conferences, seminars, workshops to an even wider audience of non-legal professionals, executives, managers and officials. The HKLTI worked universities, professional institutions, government departments and the business sectors to provide stimulating experience in legal training and has been developing links with new partners. Participants included chief executives, government official, heads of departments, business managers, project managers, professionals, academics, advisors from the various industries and trade sectors in Hong Kong. We are very pleased to see that quite a number of HKLTI events, including the newly launched masterclasses series --- “Arbitrator's Perspectives on Construction Contract Masterclasses - The Complete Picture” and the Annual Showcase Event of 2-Day Seminar on “Construction Contract Essentials 2015 – Building Legal Norms in Innovative Landscape”, have both been successfully held. We are highly encouraged by the feedbacks received, which are very positive and constructive. As we and many others observe, the demands for understanding legal system in general and legal knowledge in particular have been increasing from various sectors and spectrums. Knowledge and skills in the legal field are found to be of more importance and practical applicability to daily work situations. As in the past years, part of HKLTI’s income has gone to donations to charities. The HKLTI had previously delivered training via web technologies to areas in Mainland China and Taiwan. In the era of ‘Big Data’, HKLTI plans to develop a wider reach-out in this regard for more to take benefits of our legal training. On behalf of HKLTI, we would like to thank the HKLTI Secretariat for their devoted contributions and efforts and all our working partners. We are confident that, with all your supports, we may further extend the benefits of our legal training to all interested in 2016 and beyond.
