“Daijoubu. - Pediatrician Dr. Ryota Hosoya and his Haiku” is a human documentary movie. 

It depicts the doctor’s thoughts and feelings for children who have had to fight for their lives on the very front line of the struggle against cancer.

With deep feelings toward those children who have succumbed to the illness, Dr. Hosoya has dedicated over 40 years of his life to pediatric cancer care. He set down the daily life of his fight and prayer in haiku, the world’s shortest style of poem. The movie is not just a movie.  It is also a prayer given to us by those pediatric cancer patients through Dr. Hosoya’s words. To live a mortal life ... His work includes “Nao-chan”, “Entoko”, “Shape the Wind” and “Daijoubu”. More recently he has released “Katawara – Journey since March 11th“, “Lodge Keeper – The four seasons of Karasawa Hyutte”, “Dreams of Shiba Dog – Japan’s ancient breed from the Jomon period”, ”My wife’s illness—Dementia with Lewy Bodies”, and　”Thread of Dreams —The Adonis Home for Dementia Patients”. He received “the Japan Film Pen Club Prize and Distinguished Services Prize” in 2013 and “the Cinema Dream Club Prize” in 2014.
