APRIL 01, 2018 EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
K E N O S I S F O R E A S T E R 2018
My dear Sisters and Brothers:
A JOYOUS AND LIBERATING EASTER!
As Christians, we are again celebrating the greatest event in our faith life
— Jesus, our Lord and Savior rising from the dead, defeating the power of
hell, and restoring our being children of God. We are "heirs of the Kingdom of God with Christ" as
St. Paul tells us. We have been redeemed, meaning valued and loved and knowing that our Risen Lord
lives to accompany us in our pilgrim journey back to our merciful and compassionate Father. But
what is supposed to be our continuing response to this magnificent and extravagant love of God for us
in Christ? First and foremost is a never-ending deep gratitude. Secondly, Jesus has been raised and
the tomb is empty. God's power untombs the entombed. But when we do not forgive others or
ourselves, when we hold grudges, when addiction controls us, when we allow evil desires to dictate our
words and deeds, we tomb the untombed. By the grace of Christ's resurrection, let us stop these and
embrace the light of a new day.
May I inform you that I will be gone from April 3 and will be back on May 11. I will be attending the
yearly retreat of the SSS in the Philippines, attend meetings and take my vacation. I will remember
you all in my prayers especially in the Eucharist. Kindly pray for us also. In case you have concerns,
you may address them to Fr. Pat.
God's abundant blessings be upon you and your dear ones.
In our Risen Lord,
Fr. Frankie, SSS
Pastor
He Is Risen!!
Alleluia!
May the LOVE of the Risen Christ that
surpasses all understanding bring
PEACE and JOY to you and your loved
ones, and may the merciful Risen Lord
be with you always!
Wishing you all a Blessed and Faith-
Filled Easter!
Fr. Frankie, Fr. Pat, Bro. Buddy
And the MSOS Parish Staff
Haec dies quam fecit Dominus: “This is the day which the
Lord has made.” Throughout the octave we shall sing of
the unequalled joy which throws open eternity to us. Every
Sunday will furnish a reminder of it, and from Sunday to
Sunday, from year to year, the Easters of this earth will
lead us to that blessed day on which Christ has promised
that He will come again with glory to take us with Him into
the kingdom of His Father.
May the PEACE of the RISEN LORD reign in our hearts as
we continue responding to HIS call: to proclaim in word
and in work the good news of
HIS RESURRECTION!
WE WISH YOU A BLESSED EASTER!

APRIL 01, 2018 EASTER SUNDAY OF THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD
SCHOOL NEWS
Mary, Star of the Sea Early Learning Center Celebrates Easter and New Life!
The Parable of the Butterfly
On Easter morning the disciples saw Jesus' garment lying on the empty tomb,
like an empty chrysalis deserted by a butterfly who has left to soar free. "He is risen," an angel told the
incredulous disciples. Jesus later appeared to his disciples, and over the course of the next few weeks, to as
many as five hundred people. Jesus has risen from the dead!
At Mary, Star of the Sea Early Learning Center, the children are introduced to Easter as a joyous
celebration of new life! A special crown flower tree was planted at the ELC many years ago, and has
been the home to hundreds of caterpillars and butterflies. Children learn about transformation and
celebration of new life through the parable of the butterfly.
The parable of the butterfly is the promise of new life and resurrection. After the caterpillar fulfills its
urge to eat and grow, it instinctively forms a chrysalis around itself which hardens. In all outward
appearance, it appears lifeless. Then one day, the chrysalis begins to move and writhe, and through
much effort, a beautiful butterfly emerges! It is the beginning of a new life! The parable of the butterfly
symbolizes and celebrates the miracle and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. On behalf of the ELC
administration, teachers, staff, and students, may you and your family have a blessed and glorious
Easter!
MARY, STAR OF THE SEA SCHOOL Aloha MSOS Parishioners,
Easter is truly a time of celebration! As we come together to celebrate a joyous Easter with our loved
ones, we are reminded of all the blessings God gives us. We are truly blessed to have a great school and
great scholars. I am thankful for your support in developing future Catholic leaders that will serve
Christ, will serve our community and society. On behalf of my faculty and staff, I wish you and your
family a very blessed Easter.
Blessings,
Margaret Rufo
Principal, Mary Star of the Sea School
