P L E A S E R E P L Y TO:

RAY B. EDGE. EDITOR-TREAS.

I IllVbWLL 325 S H I R L E Y A V E N U E BUFFALO 15, NEW Y D R K

To all NRC Uembers; Since a Board Member asked a question of Bill Stone in

regard t o no Canadian DXes f o r the NRC, and Bi1.l Stone answered a l so via the bu l le t in , it is thought by your Executive Secretary t h a t a f u l l e r ans- wer should be forthcoming especial.1~ since he has received a g rea t many inquires from the members,

A s you w i l l recal.1, las t year, a DX gathering was held a t the home of Phil Nichol.~, A t this gathering ideas were brought up f o r a Club Coopera- t i o n PLan,whereas a l l DX programs would be dedicated t o ALL CLUBS i n order t o g e t more repor t s t o the s t a t i o n s DXing, Every one there thought it a good idea and so it was brought up t o a l l Clubs.

Immediately a f t e r that gathering Bill Stone an NRC CPC Man s t a r t e d t o have a l l h i s Canadian DXes dedicated t o al.1 clubs. B e was informed t h a t he should not do t h a t because the Club Cooperation Plan had not been Oked by the Clubs and nothing i n t h a t l i n e could be done u n t i l the plan had been OKed and adopted by each club. Bill then went back t o dedicating only t o NRC*

Back t o the .Plan, The NNRC-VRC and NRC named committeets and eacg one named its Chairman. Then they together named A 1 Bartholomew of the NRC as Chairman fo r all., Information from Bartholornew says he has wr i t t en t o a3.1 the Chairman of the d i f f e r en t Clubs Committees and has not received any answers, So a s you might know the Plan has not went any fur ther , and i s not any fu r the r than i t w a s a year ago.

Bi l .1 Stone was a member of the Board of Directors of the NRC from Sept 1 1945 t o Sept 1 1946 and he k n e w that t h i s plan had not been passed by

,

any Club. However a t the annual NRC Convention September 1946 a meeting was held by t he Board of Directors, t h a t i s the New incoming Board. After t h i s meeting was over B i l l Stone came upon Dick Cooper now NRC CPC CHairman and informed him t h a t he again was going t o dedicate a l l h i s Canadian DXes t o a1.L Clubs as he had received permission from the NNRC and VRC. Dick knowing t h a t Stone tvas a CPC NRC Man and not connected w i t h any other Club a t t h i s time informed B i l l t h a t If he intended t o do tha t t o leave the NRC out of h i s dedications, but t h a t t he NRC would publish all information re- garding those DXes. Dick rea l ized that t h i s scme question had been gone over l a s t season and he f e l t t h a t by informing Stone a s he did, t h i s would end the question r i g h t there, Later Dick informed me he had received a l e t t e r from Stone again asking about incl-uding the NRC i n h i s DXes. Dick did not answer because he f e l t tha t the question had been s e t t l e d and he had no author i ty t o change it. So a l l i n all B i l l Stone was not given per- mission t o include the NRC i n the Can~d ian D X e s even though Stone was a NRC CPC Man. Further more according t o the plans of the Club Cooperation Plan t h i s would not be done u n t i l the Plan had been accepted by a l l Cl.ubs and t h e i r Board of Directors OKed it. One other reason was involved too,

Before Dick took over NRC CPC Chairmanship, it was held by Lefty Cooper who had contacted Mr C a r l fiorton of the NRC CPC asking him i f he would ag- ree t o a plan of submitting h i s 1 - i s t of D X e s t o the NRC if Lefty would do the same f o r the NNRC, H e suggested t h a t both m a i l t h e i r 1.ists t o each other on a ce r t a in da te and time, then i f any confl.ictions occured they could be ironed out before the s t a t i ons came on the a i r . This plan was re fused by M r Horton. So @embers I hope the above w i l l . s t ra ighten you out as t o mrhy Bill Stone was granted no author i ty t o have h i s Canadian NRC along with the other Clubs. Very f r i end ly yours
